Answer: Acceptance and humor. I am not the easiest person because much like Alec I keep a lot to myself and prefer to not deal with emotions. I need someone who can accept that but also not let me just get away with it. I need my own Magnus.

(Learning by Kane Brown)

Alec wrapped his arms around Magnus slowly still feeling sick to his stomach, but knowing that what he felt didn't matter at all. He needed to be the strong one for once. He rubbed Magnus's back and then kissed his hair.

"I guess we should go back to the room," Alec whispered with a smile. "You'd like that wouldn't you?"

"Damn you Alec." Magnus pulled back laughing as the elevator got to the main level. "Did you really bring up my sick mom as a way to get me to let you stay in the room?"

Alec blushed. "Well, I do really care."

"Yeah, but you just happened to use it to get me to do what you want." Magnus swatted Alec's arm away as Alec tried to grab his arm. "You're a dick."

Alec laughed. "I seem to remember you liked that part of me."

And as easy as that the humor was gone and they were back to two broken individuals. Would they ever get past this or would they have to continue walking on eggshells for the rest of their lives.

"Alec, we need to hurry." Magnus made sure to not touch him as he moved his hand behind Alec to usher him to the door. They hopped in a cab and Magnus gave the driver the directions. Alec watched people rushing around, laughing, talking, eating, and looking all around happy. He wanted to be one of them.

"Mags," Alec said and Magnus missed everything else as his heart started to stitch back together. It was the first time Alec had called him that since that night and he hadn't realized how much he needed it.

"If you don't want to that's fine." Alec said. Of course Magnus didn't want to go wander around the strip with him. Magnus probably wanted to go home. Hell, they needed to leave. It was Sunday and they had school tomorrow, but for some reason Alec hated the idea of ever going back.

"Alec, sorry, I zoned out. What did you want to do? I'm sure the answer is yes." Magnus smiled.

"I was thinking, well you know, um. No, it's fine." Alec stuttered. Maybe Magnus was just being nice. Wait, Magnus would never do that.

"Alexander," Magnus cocked his eyebrow at him.

"Do you maybe want to go walk around the strip after whatever we're doing?" Alec asked him with a blush on his cheeks. "It's fine if you don't want to. Also, we probably need to leave anyway."

"Alec, stop. Of course I'd love to. In fact, I insist that we do it. And don't worry about going back. We're staying at least until tomorrow. I've already made the arrangements. I don't want to rush this."

"Okay." Alec smiled and looked back out the window.

"What else are friends for?" Magnus asked wishing that they weren't just that, but grateful to at least have that back.

"Hey, Mags?" Alec looked at him then looked back out the window because his eyes started watering at just the thought of what he was going to say let alone if he looked at him.

"Yeah?"

"I don't think I've said this yet but, um," Alec swallowed the lump in his throat and watched as two men walked hand in hand next to their cab. His jaw dropped open. Could they be like them? Would Magnus want to be like that; to try again?

"Alec?" Magnus asked and saw the couple that Alec was staring at. Magnus wondered if Alec was disgusted or happy with what he saw. He couldn't tell except that Alec was deep in thought from what he saw.

Magnus pulled back after kissing Alec and the notebook that he had been trying to get dropped to the ground but neither of them reacted. Magnus had just nibbled on Alec's neck and neither of them had moved. Was Alec going to run away? Magnus finally took a step back so Alec could leave but instead Alec used his now free hands to cup Magnus's face. His lighter skin perfectly framed Magnus's darker skin.

"Can I?" Alec searched Magnus's eyes for an answer and all he saw was the rich brown that reminded him of his favorite type of chocolate. Alec took the silence as the only answer he needed.

Alec stepped forward and kissed Magnus. It was a soft peck and almost a lazy kiss. It was their way of testing the waters. They both pulled back and then looked into each other's eyes before Magnus pushed Alec against the wall and kissed him again, but this time harder and faster.

Magnus's tongue jammed into Alec mouth as soon as he released a moan. Alec's hands went to Magnus's hair and massaged his head as he pushed up against him like a cat wanted attention. He wasn't even embarrassed when another moan escaped his lips as Magnus's hand slid up under his shirt.

"Hey, I said we're here!" The cab driver said gruffly. Magnus wondered if his name was Jace, like the guy who interrupted them in the memory he was just reliving.

"Right." Magnus paid for the ride and got out.

"What are we doing here?" Alec asked, looking up at the building.

"Do you trust me?" Magnus asked him almost afraid to hear the answer.

Alec took a deep breath. Did he? If Magnus hadn't left him alone in that room then he wouldn't have been hurt but Magnus did save him. Magnus, was the only reason he was still alive and he had continued to help Alec long after Alec had stopped talking to him.

"Yes." Alec finally said with a sigh because it felt like a huge weight was lifted from his shoulders. He half expected to start floating.

Magnus didn't say anything he just let his heart race and he grabbed Alec's hand. He didn't care if Alec was uncomfortable with it. They both needed it. Magnus pushed the door open and lead Alec to the desk. The air conditioning hit them like a bucket of ice water as they left the hot, dry air outside.

"Welcome. Do you have an appointment?" A girl with blue and pink hair asked.

"Yes, with Dyson." Magnus offered.

"Are you getting another tattoo?" Alec asked him confused.

"You are." Magnus tugged on his arm and pulled him up the stairs to the man the girl pointed to.

A/N Woah! Right? How do you think that's going to go over?
