"Did you and Daddy sleep together last night?"

The sudden question made you and Tooru spit in your tea glasses, choking and coughing the liquid from trailing in the wrong pipe in your throat. Tetsu's head only tilted to the side at you and his dad's reaction at his innocent question, not realizing the other meaning behind it.

"W-Why, no. What makes you say that?" you sweated, peering down at the little boy in his chair who is hesitantly eating his cereal.

"Nothing," he averted his eyes down, and then gazed up at you again before Tooru can interrogate him. "You should come over more, [Name]. We can make a fort and watch movies together."

To you, it seemed like he wanted to change the subject quickly - thankfully. So, you just succumbed into the conversation and agreed to make that day happen for him, realizing that you're making promises for the kid more than you should. That was okay.

During breakfast, it was peaceful for the most part besides Tetsu's question. He watched you while eating Tooru's burnt toast and undercooked rice, simply not paying attention to his own breakfast that's soaking up in milk. The smile never left on his face when you finished and helped the older Oikawa in cleaning up the kitchen.

"You should change so we can go to auntie's house," Tooru advised his son while putting him down from his chair. "Do you need help getting clothes?"

"No, Daddy, I want to do it myself!" Tetsu demanded with a shake of his head, surprising his dad at his firm declaration. "I want to be a man for [Name]."

Shocked, you turned your shoulder with your tea in hand then gazed at Tooru who had a blank face on him. A twitching smile crept on his face and stood on his feet with hands at his hips proudly. "That's my boy! If you need help, just call me over."

The small child threw a thumbs up at him before running down the hallway to his room. A small chuckle oozed from Tooru's lips after witnessing Tetsu's energetic behavior, a new attitude he's been seeing ever since you came to the picture.

"I think we might be competing each other for you," he said to you dubiously.

You laughed, "If so, then he is for sure winning."

"Looks like I gotta try harder, huh?" his lips curled mischievously, already liking the idea to woo you with pure intentions.

"Do you have work later on, Oikawa?" You approached the man who easily led you to the front door of his penthouse after running the dishes through the washer.

He nodded, "I do. Starting today, I'll be volunteering at a youth camp and it's going to be in the Miyagi Prefecture."

"Miyagi? I used to go a junior high around the area," You were surprised at the given location he stated and quirked a brow on your head. "Isn't it on the different side of Japan?"

"Yeah, I'm originally from there too," he informed happily. "I'll also be gone for a couple of days."

However, you looked for the smaller version of him in the hall but he wasn't in sight, so you glanced back at Tooru. "Is Tetsu coming with you?"

"Ah, no unfortunately. He'll be staying here with my sister," his voice faltered just a bit. The simple reminder only saddened him that he'll be away from him for some time. "I could take him with me but I'll be at the gym all day long and hold meetings with the staff, so it won't be practical of me to bring him. I wouldn't be present most of the day. Plus he has preschool."

Humming casually with the styrofoam cup of the tea he brewed earlier, you studied his face to conjure a solution for him and then raised your head from the steaming brim. "You said you're from the area. Do you still have family up there who could possibly let him stay?"

"They're sporadic. Most of them do live in Tokyo now for a change in pace," Tooru sighed but tried not to express stress, looking at you with assuring eyes. "I know. I don't want to be separated from him either but it's only for a few days."

"Guess he'll miss you, huh?" You asked, thinking Oikawa would look more crestfallen at the thought but he smiled in optimism.

"Yeah, but he's almost used to it at this point. It was a lot harder to explain to him these things before, but overtime, I think he's starting to understand a bit." When he explained the situation, you can only guess that this isn't the first time he's done it. Being a national volleyball player, a model, and a parent is more than enough for Tetsu to take - an expected lifestyle given to him.

Smiling, you stepped by your cold boots by the door, tucking your foot in the leather while Tooru held your purse and phone in his hand as you do so.

"Thanks for breakfast. You didn't have to go out of your way to cook for me," you said, tying the knot over the ankles of your feet.

He gave a nervous laugh and rubbed at the back of his head. "It was nothing. I mean- I know I haven't cooked in awhile and it clearly showed. Iwa-chan never appreciates my delicacies."

Looking back to this morning's breakfast, the abomination he made of overly grilled fish and undercooked omelette wasn't the most satisfying thing you had. Tooru wasn't a bad cook to say the least but you gave him the credit for trying.

You huffed in amusement. "You definitely need some work. I'm just glad they're at least edible."

"Well, maybe next time you should cook for us," he suggested. "I'm sure you're a lot better at it than I am."

You gawked at the man after straightening your height from your hunched position. Shoes are now locked on your feet. "You guys wanted me to bake, and now cooking? I think I should expect a paycheck from now on."

"Well, I know a better way in paying you," with eyes rolling innocently, Tooru leaned forward to caress the bone of your cheek. Your body stiffened at the sudden touch of his finger tracing your blush. "That's if you do a good job."

You were speechless at the change of topic. It started with a joke but somehow ended up as a flirty conversation, he seemed to take the opportunity by putting your purse over your head and pushing your hair back from your stunned face. The same tension he had last night when you two kissed reappeared, remaining close and unlocking the door for you to walk outside of his penthouse.

Tooru glanced back for a quick second over his shoulder for any trace of Tetsu before extending his arm to hold the door frame, leaning into a cool posture with his other hand at his hip. A smirk stretched on his lips while he peered down at you, slightly hovering your head at a close distance for only you to hear him.

"So," he started.

"So," you mirrored. Like a switch, you were engrossed in his change of eyes now looking dashing as ever.

"Guess I'll call you later," he said teasingly, almost sounding like a question but it was more of a promise. You smiled at the affirmation.

"You better," you replied back with the same amount of tease and he clearly saw through your act by widening his smirk into a smile.

He clicked his tongue shamefully at you while running a finger from the corner of your jaw to your chin. Tooru gazed with a satisfied hum. "Hmm, look at you. Already so demanding for me."

You instantly felt the electricity through your body by his sudden expression. His eye winked at you with puckered his lips to make a smooch sound, sending a silent flying kiss your way. For some reason, you literally feel the invisible kiss fluttering to your heart when he did this. The man is so attractive, he knows it too well. To hide your embarrassment, you lightly shoved his shoulder.

"What, you want one?" Again, he caught you wrapping his arms around your waist, preventing you from escaping and pulling you close to his hard chest.

You spatted through gritted teeth. "Don't be such a tease, you ass."

"Who says I'm teasing? I think I might fulfill that since I'll be traveling soon," he enlightened with his face inching so close to you.

"Then do it before-"

"Daddy! I'm ready now," the voice screamed behind Tooru, causing him to jump and swipe his arms back from hugging you. "I can change by myself!"

Tooru swiveled around to find his son running to him with his miniature backpack in hand, ready for another day's worth of adventure. Tetsu stared back at you when he's picked up in his dad's arms who is still a bit shaken by the boy's interruption in the middle of his romantic moment with you. Your lips managed to leak a smile but awkwardly at the coincidence.

"Y-You're so big, Tetsu!" you praised anything just so he doesn't question either one of you on what you two were doing.

But it failed. "What were you and Daddy talking about?"

For some reason you felt dirty when he aimed his innocent eyes at you, "Just... about work."

Tooru spitted a laugh and you lightly kicked his toned butt with the side of your foot. Luckily, Tetsu bought the answer and yawned. "Sounds boring."

The Oikawa boys walked you to the train station before you wished the brunette man good luck with his training camp. Tetsu made his usual routine in waving bye to you through the window when you stepped inside the cargo. Happily waving back at them, a distinctive ring came in the pocket of your coat and you pulled out your cellphone.

The name you were expecting to see on the screen didn't appear, except it was a name you haven't seen in a long time.

Sugawara Koshi.

With blinking eyes, you didn't hesitate to pick up the call as curiosity seeped through you. "Suga?"

"Tamago-chan!" you can distinguish the delight in his voice that you remembered so vividly. The pet name he had given you still stuck with him throughout these years, which means he didn't forget you. "It's been so long!"

"It is," you replied back with wonder, still a bit stammered by the random call. "I'm sorry. This is just so sudden. It's been years!"

Years isn't an exaggeration. Koshi is one of the first few friends you made in Nagamushi Junior High and he always teases you about your obsession with Japanese omelette. It was your favorite food, or still is. Your time in the Tohoku region came short when your family made the decision to move out and had bigger plans for you in Tokyo. Since then, you haven't talked to anyone.

"What's up? You don't usually call," you asked.

"I know, I know. I'm terrible at keeping touch," he admitted sadly, but then laughed. "I was wondering if you're still in Tokyo?"

"I am. Why?"

"What a relief... Well, guess who's here to visit?" Koshi's singing tone brought you into a beaming smile. He's in Tokyo? The thought of meeting one of your childhood friend never occurred to your head, especially Sugawara. It's been a decade since you last saw him. "I remembered the last time I saw you, you said moved here. I'm on vacation so I was wondering if you want to catch up soon."

He sounded nervous over the phone while he anticipated for your answer. You thought he just realized now that it is sudden of him to call you after so many years without a trace. But you relinquished his anxious self by nodding.

"Of course, erm, maybe tomorrow?" you offered and you can sense the relief emitting through his breath, his tone growing lighter.

"Yeah, that sounds good! I'll set up a time and place for us to meet."

"Sure thing," you answered back, now the conversation filled with nothing but silence. "Well, I gotta go. I'm meeting at a friend's house right now."

"Y-Yeah, I'll let you go," he replied. "We'll text."

You assured him before hanging up on the phone. With a short glance on your lock screen, your bewilderment only grew while you scrolled to see Koshi's contact number. All these years, you thought you had lost connection with him yet he still kept your number. And you only wonder what brought him to remember you and to call you now out of all times.
