Daddy started off by ordering his meal, which consisted of a Carmel latte and a Big Mac.

Daddy turned to me. "What would you like to eat, September?" He asked. I was slightly hurt that he hadn't used any of my nicknames, but I remembered we were in public.

I tried my best to refrain from using my baby voice. "C-can I have a chocolate," I struggled on the big word I had to use, "milkshake, and a hamburger?" I continued.

Daddy ordered it for me, rubbing his thumb over the hand he caressed.

Daddy then turned to Noah. Noah seemed out of it as daddy asked what he wanted to eat.

"Noah?" Daddy asked him, snapping his fingers in his face. Noah jumped slightly and looked at daddy.

"Yeah?" Noah asked. He looked as if he'd seen a ghost.

"What do you want to eat?" Daddy asked him.

"Whatever Sephy is having," Noah replied quickly before staring at the ground again.

I didn't know what was wrong but I took his hand in mine and caressed it like daddy had mine. A silent reassurance that I was here for him no matter the issue.

Daddy led us back to our table and we all ate in silence. We were too busy eating to speak.

When we were all finished, we cleaned up our spots and continued down the trail.

"Daddy I'm thirsty," I whispered to daddy, looking around before doing so. There wasn't anyone within ear shot.

Daddy pulled out a water bottle and handed it to me. "Don't spill it," he said to me.

I carefully opened the top and sipped on it. It was much harder to use than a bottle or sippy cup. I wasn't a big fan.

"Thank you," I told daddy, dropping the water bottle back into the bag.

Noah was waddling more than walking and he was slower than daddy and I.

"Noah what's wrong?" I asked him, getting closer to him and farther from daddy.

"Nothin'," he replied. Noah was such a bad liar. But I guess that's a good thing for daddy and I.

"The exhibits for all the land mammals are up there," daddy announced, leading us up a stair case. "Apparently they are in alphabetical order as well," he added.

"What are those?" Noah asked, standing on the ledge of the fence that surrounded the enclosure to get a better look at the anteaters on display.

"Anteaters," daddy replied simply, coming up behind Noah and me and wrapping his arms around us.

"Do they eat ants?" I asked.

  "Yes," said daddy, laughing slightly.

"It's kind of ugly," Noah blurted.

"It is not!" I defended the odd looking creature. Ugly Creatures had feelings too. It could probably hear us too!

"Boys," daddy warned before either of us could continue arguing with the other.

We passed a bunch of other enclosures. Some of my favorites being the Fennec Fox, Red Panda, and the Snow Leopard.

We soon found the tiger enclosure and I pressed my face up against the glass where a tiger was laying just a few feet away.

"It's so pretty," I whispered. I tapped the glass lightly with my finger and the tiger perked up.

The tiger jumped to its feet and ran straight for the glass, just to crash into it and tumble back, landing on its paws.

I fell off of the concrete block I was sitting on, frightened that the tiger might have been able to get to me.

I felt my head smack into the concrete below me and I knew I wouldn't be able to stop the waterworks that showed up.

Daddy took me to the infirmary, which wasn't too far from where we were.

There was a nurse there who took a look at my head. She stated that my head was swelling up and bruised and gave me some ice for it.

The only thing she had to say was, "be more careful next time."

I held the ice to my head as I let daddy take Noah and I to the amphibian room.

This was what Noah had been looking forward too. More specifically, snakes.

Though Noah's mood has brightened, he still seemed uncomfortable.

"It's warm in here," Noah stated, tugging his pants up as they began to slip down.

"That's because the amphibians here are cold blooded," daddy explained. "They need heat to help them keep warm."

"Fwoggie," I whispered as I saw a green and black speckled tree frog in a glass cage to our left.

"Yes, baby, that's a froggie." I saw that he was smiling at me.

I put my hand close to the glass and gave s little wave to the froggie.

Noah tugged at the bottom of my shirt and I followed him and daddy over to the snake enclosure.

There were small ones, big ones. Thin ones, fat ones. But they were all pretty scary.

Noah got up close to the glass and studied them all, pointing out which were his favorites and why, and which ones he didn't like and why.

I stayed far away from the glass, hiding in daddy's side.

Daddy rubbed my back while he smiled at Noah as he blabbed on and on about what he knew about snakes.

"I think we should move on to the bug room. We only have a few hours before it'll be dinner time," daddy stated. "We also still have the aquarium to go through."

Dinner time already? Time sure passed by. Though there had been a lot of mammals here at the zoo.

As we headed towards the big room, daddy stopped by the bathrooms. "Does anybody have to go?" He asked.

I shook my head. Noah looked at the floor, avoiding answering the question. I noticed the blush that spread across his face.

"Noah?" Daddy asked, knowing that when I said I hadn't needed to go yet, I meant it. Noah wasn't so convincing with his answer less act.

"What?" Noah asked, smiling innocently up at daddy as he clasped his hands together behind his back.

"Do you have to go to the bathroom?" Daddy repeated. "I'd rather you go now than have to go later when there isn't a nearby bathroom."

"I don't have to go," Noah replied. It wasn't a lie. But it also wasn't the answer daddy was actually requesting.

"Then why didn't you answer me the first time I asked?" Daddy pried.

"Dunno," Noah said, not missing a beat this time. If daddy hadn't already figured he was lying, Noah could have gotten away with that one.

"I hate when you lie to me," daddy deadpanned.

Noah looked back at the ground as daddy took his hand and tugged him into the bathroom to change him.

No wonder Noah had looked uncomfortable the whole time. The poor thing was embarrassed.

I waited outside the bathroom for Noah and daddy to return. I was excited to go see the bugs.

Next update will hopefully be Saturday or even earlier if I'm feeling up to it. Haven't been feeling good recently. There will be a part 2 to the whole zoo thing. With the bug room and aquarium included instead of the mammal and amphibian exhibits. Don't know much about zoos or their set ups so this is crappy. I'm also tired so yeah. HOPE YOU GUYS ENJOY I LOVE YOU ❤️
