"I-I-I swear I saw a girl!" John defended himself, still confused.

"Hold on," Skylar's phone rang and she picked it up.

"What do you mean?" She said to the person on the other end. "Have you gone crazy or what? I'm not gonna leave this house! I mean eventually, yes, the packing still is left but why do you want me to leave right now?"

John looked at her - confused by her conversation.

"Wait, what?" Skylar continued switching her cell from the left ear to her right. "Why are you coming here right now? Is something wrong? I can sense it in your voice, Scarlett. And how will you come here all by yourself?"

She got silent listening to what this girl, Scarlett has to say.

"Alright, I'm missing you all either way. Fine. I'll be waiting." Skylar said and then hung up.

Skylar took a deep breath and put her phone back in her back pocket.

"Is everything alright, Skylar?"

"Yeah, nothing to worry about. It was my sister. I don't know why but she was acting so strange - telling me that I should leave this house right now - strange, right? And, she also told me that you should also leave."

"Me?" John sounded surprised. "How does she know that I'm here?"

"I told her earlier on the phone. Anyway, she said that she's coming here with our parents. She wants to see something for herself. I don't know what's going on with her. She'll reach here within the next day."

"Alright, then I'll come back tomorrow," John said getting up from the couch and walked towards the door.

"John," Skylar called him from behind causing him to turn around just before he was about to step his foot out the door. "Why did you come here, today? You never told me."

"We'll talk tomorrow, anyway I have to be somewhere else now."

"Hello, Mrs. Watkins," John greeted Emily's mother who was smiling by the door wearing a blue A-line dress and had her blond hair hung loose.

John saw packing boxes.
They were packing to shift somewhere safe.

"Is Emily home?"

"Jo-"

"Mom! If that's John, I don't wanna see him." Came the sound of Emily from upstairs.

"Emily, please," John politely began as Mrs. Watkins welcomed him in. "hear me out once."

"What?" She shouted from upstairs. "Came here to insult me more? Or did you come here to tell me that everything worked out great without me? After all, I'm pessimistic and negative! Isn't it?"

John took a deep breath. "Emily, I came here to apologize. I'm really sorry. Please forgive me for everything I said. I was stupid. Please."

John saw Emily coming down the stairs.

"You were right," John continued still standing near the door. "I should've known. You were only trying to help me and protect me. I am really sorry, Emily. But we need you with us to find an end to all this. We still haven't found out the third piece which we don't even know where it could be. Please?"

Emily came face to face with John and let out a sigh. "It's alright. I'm sorry too. There was a better way to do it. I'm sorry if you felt that your plan was a total waste. I didn't mean to be negative about it. I was only supporting you and giving my input to make your plan a little better so that we can get more help."

John smiled.

"I guess we live, we make mistakes, we learn and we grow," Emily said as they both hugged their fight out.

"Emily, I want to tell you something," John said with a serious face.

Emily nodded as they sat down on the sofa. And then John told her about the second note he found during the viewing and how he believes that the second note was also written by Diana as the writings matched and then when he visited Skylar's house, how a girl in a yellow dress which he thought to be Skylar's sister, handed him a box which he opened and saw himself staring back at him in the mirror behind him and how Skylar told him that it couldn't be her sister as she lived miles away and how her sister called her later and told her that she's coming tomorrow.

Emily sat there listening with her eyes wide.

"And," John hesitated to tell her about the melted rod faced man - he never told her or Hannah about his first encounter with him back when they went to Skylar's house for the first time but now he felt like it was needed. It was time to tell her. And then he told her everything in detail about him seeing the man two times in Skylar's house.

Emily was shocked by a terrifying look on her face hearing the description of the man. "And, you are telling me this now? Why didn't you say anything earlier, John?"

"I don't know what was holding me back then."

"Is there something else you have been hiding?"

John shook his head.

"Let's go tomorrow to see what's the deal with this man appearing in Skylar's house whenever you are there. And we'll meet the sister too which you thought you saw."

"When will your sister be here?" Emily asked checking her rectangular-shaped sports watch which showed both the clock hands on 10.

Emily and John went to Skylar's house the morning of the following day to sort out the mystery of the girl who had given a box to John which had suddenly disappeared after it had slipped and the mirror had shattered. And hopefully, the mystery of the melted-rod-faced man who keeps appearing whenever John is in Skylar's house.

"She'll be here any-" Skylar turned around facing the door hearing the doorbell. "Guess that's her." She walked towards the door and opened the bolt.

"Scarlett!" Skylar exclaimed as she went to hug a girl standing on the porch. "I missed you."

John and Emily got up from the couch and waited by the door. The girl standing in front of them who was Skylar's sister who appeared to be a college student stood on the porch with a wheeled backpack of blueish shade laying near her. She was wearing a white crop top and a knee-length floral skirt with pale white ankle-length boots. Her black hairs were a little bit curly styled in side-swept bangs.

Seeing the girl, John stood there shocked.

"What's wrong?" Emily whispered looking at John's shocked face.

"It's the same girl!"

"Are you sure?" Emily asked first looking at the girl and then looking back at John.

John nodded.

"Skylar, stop, I missed you too, but you're suffocating me. " The girl said and coughed a bit when Skylar let go.

"How's it possible though? She came just now and it takes nearly a day to cover 650 miles." Emily whispered.

"I don't know," John mouthed.

"Sorry," Skylar said biting her tongue. "Anyway come in,"

Scarlett placed her foot inside and stopped right there.

"Come on in Scarlett," Skylar said, "There are two people I'd like you to meet,"

With her one foot inside the house and one foot still on the porch, Scarlett looked around the house - like she was searching or felt or saw something. Her eyes were so focused - not wavering a bit. "They were here," She murmured.

"What are you saying, Scarlett?" Skylar went towards her and took her by the hand and pulled her in. "By the way, where's mom and dad? Tell me you did not come all the way here by yourself?"

"No, Skylar. Mom and dad got a call when we were just coming to you, near the outskirts of the town, and said they had to go asap to aunt's house. So, they dropped me here and told me that they'll be back soon. So, meanwhile, you should finish up the packing so that we can leave this town."

"Alright," Skylar said as both got inside the house. "Emily, John, this is my sister, Scarlett." Skylar introduced her sister taking her bag inside and keeping it near the sofa. "Scarlett, this is Emily,"

"Hi Emily, nice to meet you," Scarlett said shaking hands with Emily.

"Nice to meet you too, Scarlett," Emily said with a warm smile.

"And, this is, John,"

Scarlett extended her hands to shake John's hand but when her fingers came in contact with his, she gasped and retracted her hands.

Confused by her action, Skylar, John, and Emily looked at her.

"You're the one," Scarlett said looking at John, "You're the one who took the stone," Saying this, she hurried towards her bag, unzipped it, and began searching for something.

"Wait, how do you -" John began with a surprised yet doubtful look on his face which he shared with the two girls in the room.

"There's no time, " Scarlett said in a serious tone. "The evil had grown much stronger!"
