"Hi, Hannah," Came the sound of John from the other line. "How's Emily? I saw your text just now."

"She's fine. But still, there's weakness. She acts strong, but her pale, tired face says it all. But on the bright side, it'd be only a matter of a few more months before she'll join us." Hannah said with the hope of joy in her voice.

"That's great news. So, about this house, any idea how are we going to go so far? It'd almost be like a cross-country trip! Who will drive? Mom and Dad are busy and we don't have anyone to drive us there."

"Ahem, Ahem." Hannah faked a cough.

"What?" John couldn't understand what was wrong that he said. Her sister would always cough like that when either he had done or said something wrong or when she subtly wanted to hint at something. John gave a quick thought. "Ah, I see. Someone turned 18 last month. Well, Lucky for me, now I have my private driver." He laughed as he teased her.

"Ha. Ha. Laugh all you want to little brother, but I'm the one that'll be driving us to the house." Hannah fought back with a smirk.

"Hate to break it to you sis but it will be possible when mom and dad give you permission. They're about to go out on a little vacation so you better come quick."

"On my way!" Hannah replied before hanging up.

----------

It was almost around 8 when Hannah reached home. The clouds began to grow darker with the stars twinkling above and the moon hiding in the clouds.

Hannah pulled over just before the driveway when she saw John standing alone. She rolled down the windows and was about to ask John what he was doing all alone at this time in the middle of the street when John said, "Hannah, they departed just a couple of seconds before."

John was right. Amidst the traffic and driving fast but safely, she could see her mom's car driving off in front of her with their mom and dad inside.

"Don't worry, John. Mom's driving. Let me call dad to ask for permission."

Hannah took out her phone and dialed her dad's number. A few rings rang before Mr. Jackson picked it up.

"Hi, Hannah. Where are you?"

"Hey, dad. I was with Emily and then got stuck in the traffic. Anyway, I and John wanted to ask for your guys' permission."

"Go on."

"Well, since mom's driving, could you put it on speaker so that we can talk with you both?"

"Ummm, what are you talking about, Hannah? Your mom is alone as she was-"

"WAIT! WHAT?" Hannah cut her father off as she was taken aback. "Then, who was with her in her car? Dad, we'll talk to you later. "

"Get in the car! We're following her." Hannah commanded John.

Trying not to lose any sight of her mother, Hannah's leg kept pushing the accelerator.

In the passenger's seat, a dark figure was sitting in their mom's car. The figure was the same height as her father's but on careful looking, he had a little-crooked body.

"Here, try calling her." Hannah gave John her phone with her eyes glued to Mrs. Jackson's car.

Suddenly, the moon showed up from behind the clouds, spreading its light. And it was at this moment that Hannah and John both had their breath stuck with their heartbeats racing as they saw the figure holding a knife up high in his hands.

Hannah shouted, 'Mom' out of her window hoping her mom would listen but her voice got lost in the noise of the traffic.

"This song is really good. I'll definitely ask David to add it to our Go-To-Party playlist. " Rose turned up the volume as she sang along with the radio.

"We'll dance 'till the morning light ...Carefree let it out tonight...This is our moment to unwind...."

Suddenly, her radio started to act up a little weird.

"Hey! What's wrong with you now? C'mon." Rose gave it a little bang and slap but slowly the song lost its sync and melody and then it turned into static. Pure static.

"Great! Just when you find a good song!" Rose rolled her eyes.

Suddenly, her teeth gritted against each other as her lips began to quiver due to a sudden drop in the temperature inside her car.

"First David, then the radio, and now a sudden chilling cold? What's happening?" Before Rose could figure anything out, the static from the radio disappeared completely.

"Ah, at least one problem solved." With one hand on the steering wheel, she turned up the volume of the radio from another hand. But no matter how loud she went, she heard nothing from the speakers.

"Weird," She thought to herself. "Is it broken or what? I guess no music for me tonight." She said as she focussed back on the road.

Suddenly, she heard a faint chilling laugh through the radio.

Rose's attention switched towards the radio as her brow furrowed with eyes wide. She couldn't understand what it was but ignored it.

The demonic laugh came again which at every passing moment grew a little louder.

"What the heck?" Rose gulped a knot of fear down her dry throat as her body became colder. Suddenly, Rose applied the brakes which caused the tires to make a screeching sound, the car skidded a little but didn't stop.

"What's wrong?!!?" Rose pressed the brakes harder but the car didn't stop. The voice of the demonic laugh reverberated, growing and growing with every ticking of the clock.

"Rose..." The sound suddenly became sweeter and what appeared to be a demonic sound tuned into a little girl singing Mrs. Jackson's name.

"Whaaat??" Her voice began to shake in fear. "Who's there?" Rose was bewildered and terrified. The temperature of the car was dropping lower and lower, so low that now the mist and the fog clouded up on the glass and mirrors. Her vision was blocked, her car's brake had failed, she wanted to stop the car and run away but she couldn't. She was trapped. She tried to unbuckle her seatbelt but it was stuck in its socket. She began yanking it out but all in vain. She then banged her fists hard against the window glass and cried for help, hoping someone would see her but everyone was busy to even give a quick look.
