I don't know why there are so many birthday part twos tbh

I tap my foot, slightly nervous for what Rey has in mind tonight. I'm wearing jeans, a warm long sleeve, and a flannel. I decided not to use too much of the make up I just bought and settled for refreshing an everyday look and some lip gloss. I truly did spend too much out shopping barely have a dollar to my name anymore.

I lay on the couch with Sheppard, silently plotting how to get out of mom getting me a store-bought cake that takes like shit, and instead make a batch of brownies for myself.

"When is he picking you up?" Sheppard's voice is mumbled since his phone is right in front of his face.

"Um, why are you more worried about my date than me?"

"Because Mom said I can have as much cake as I want after you leave. So, understandably, I need you to leave immediately."

I roll my eyes and the doorbell rings right on time, "Look at that. May all your dream come true. You better wish for a bigger penis at this rate."

I laugh, getting up, and Sheppard flips me off. I'm still smiling when I open the door and see Rey in an adorable outfit similar to my own. Jeans, long sleeve, and flannel. He also has gloves and a hat on, snowflakes fluttering behind. I've never been a fan of my winter birthday, but now I am.

"Hi, Rey, can you please take Barkley? Mom says I can't eat his cake until he leaves," I roll my eyes at Sheppard.

Rey's cheek twitches and he nods, "Sure thing, Sheppard. Let's go Bark."

I take his hand, shutting the door behind us, and we cut to his car that thankfully has the heat on. I smile when he smiles and pulls away.

"So tonight, I didn't know it'd be snowing. But, it is, so respectively we're going to go ice skating."

I gasp in my seat, "No way. Really? I've never been ice skating!"

"I can only remember going once or twice at a kid, so we'll suck together," He smiles and I feel all giddy inside.

"I'm going to bruise my butt."

Rey's eyebrows knit together, "I didn't think about that. I don't want you to hurt your cute butt."

I burst out laughing, it's still funny hearing him speak like this, "It's fine. We can get those walker things the little kids use."

Rey smiles and we listen to a handmade playlist by Rey all the way to a sketchy looking 'ice center' that I didn't know this little town had nor needed.

It's relatively empty, but it is a Friday night, so there are a few cars in the parking lot. I'll be honest, I was a little surprised Rey told me he got my birthday off. I practically jumped him with a hug.

I take Rey's gloved hand in my own -he gave me an extra pair like he could see the future, along with a cap- and he leads me into the building that was only slightly warmer than outside.

A teenage boy is bundled up and leaning on the counter with a bored look. When the bell above the door rings weakly, his head bobs up and eyes widen when he see's us shuffling in.

"Uh," He straightens his back and his eyes dart down to our entwined hands, "How can I help you guys?"

"It's free skate, right?" It's obvious the boy is a little shocked by Rey talking.

"Oh, uh, yeah. Two?" Rey nods and the boy stumbles with the cash register ringing us up, "Five dollars even. What sizes?"

Rey hands him a five dollar bill, "Two tens please."

It's nice that Rey are similar in size, so we can share a lot of clothes -my favorite are his hoodies, duh- and even shoes.

"Hey, uh, you guys go to cental, right?" The boy looks flushed and I can't tell if it's from the cold or not.

I smile when Rey stiffens at my side slightly, "Yeah. I'm assuming you know my name, I've told I'm a favorite in the hate gossip. But I've never seen you, I'm sorry I don't know your name."

"Josh," The boy bows his head and hands us the skates, "Right through that door."

We -I- thank him and we go through the door and see the large oval rink with a few kids and their parents skating around like experts.

We sit on the benches right outside the ice and slip off our shoes to put on the skates. I'm wearing pink fuzzy socks and Rey smiles at it while I blush. It takes a minute to tie them tightly, and when everything is said and done I'm too scared to get up.

"How do we even get to the ice in the first place?" I look down at the cement between the bench and cut in the wall to get into the ice rink.

Rey takes my hand and very carefully stands up, "It's only a foot away. We jump and grab the siding wall."

I wiggle as I stand up next to him, my feet almost bent so I break my ankle, and cling to his hand. Rey squeezes my hand and leans forward, catching the wall. Then he drags his feet with him and pulls on my hand. I bite my lip and do the same.

Eventually, we're shuffling on the ice, both us clinging to the wall instead of each other. Little kids pass us with weird looks and I burst out laughing.

"What?" Rey looks behind him, knees bent slightly, hand gripping the wall.

I giggle, and shake my head, "We probably look so stupid. I love it."

Rey just shakes his head and we keep slowly moving along the wall, even slower to get a rhythm that works. Eventually, though, our grips loosen on the wall and we gradually take each other hands and move at the speed of a snail, but without much assistance.

The entire time I'm laughing my ass off and Rey has this constant small smile on his lips and even giggles with me every once and a while. Most leave and only one other couple still holds hands as they skate when Rey and I decide to get off the ice.

I throw myself down on the bench, still giggling as I begin to untie my laces, " Thank you, Rey. This was so much fun. I think I may have frostbite and will lose a toe but that's okay because now I'll have a permanent reminder."

Rey's bent in half untieing his skates and smiles up at me, "Well, if it helps I think I might lose a whole foot so I'll win."

I kick off the tight skates and sigh in relief. I wiggle my cold toes in my fuzzy socks before putting my shoes back on. Rey does the same -skips the wiggle of fuzzy toe socks and straight to putting on shoes- and we go back to the lobby and hand the boy our skates.

"Have a nice night," I smile at him and take Rey's hand as we leave into the darkness back to the car.

"Crank up the heater and maybe no one will lose any limbs," I buckle in and Rey turns the heater up almost full blast, "I hope you don't do this with all your boys," I give him a silly grin and he almost winces.

"Only my favorite."

I scuff and place a hand on my heart, "I'm wounded. And to think i was only aware of one."

That was the wrong thing to say. Rey stills in his seat but thankfully doesn't swerve us off the road. I see his jaw clench in the dimly lit car.

"How'd you know?" His voice is a complete 180 from the rest of the night.

I lick my lips, "Well, at some point you vaguely brought something up, but I can't truly remember. And this afternoon while the twins and I were driving to the mall, we weirdly got on the topic of sex and i guess it came up."

I see Rey's Adam apple bob, "So you were curious and you're the best though was go to my sisters, not me?"

I frown, taken back by his harsh tone, was he really mad about this? It's not that big of a deal.

"I mean, I guess i was curious. It's not like I exactly pried it from them. Well, a little, but I just wanted to know. I don't think any worse of you. I understand you experimanted, we all do."

Rey glance at me and back at the road, "Barkley, I wanted to tell you. You should have come to me and not my sisters. I think it's more my place to tell you since you are my boyfriend."

My lips part slightly, my eyebrows digging further down my face, "Rey, calm down. It's not that big of a deal. You fucked a boy. Your first boy I'm assuming. Good for you, water under the bridge."

"No, Barkley, it is a big deal. He was my first. I was drunk. I was young. But I wanted to tell you. I wanted to be the one to tell you that maybe I wasn't going to be everything you wanted. But you think you can't come to me?"

I shake my head, thoroughly still confused, "Rey, seriously, calm down. I never expected you to be some professional in bed. I can come to you, but I didn't think you'd make such a big deal. It isn't to me. I'll come to you next time if it means that much to you."

We pull up in Rey's driveway and he turns off the car and parks with some anger, "I just can't believe you asked my sisters."

"And I can't believe you can't believe it! Honestly, Rey, I. Don't. Care."

"But you should!" Rey slams his hands on the steering wheel and I jump.

"I'm going home,"I push my door open and stand up, but before closing it, I turn around and lean back in, "Thanks for the night. Maybe get some sleep and calm down."

And then i go inside with tears threating to spill no matter how much I don't want them to.
