Hannah's POV

----------------------

I thought Olivia was gonna have a stroke when I told her I would go. Never in a million years have I done something this bad, and I never intend to again. This is a strictly get in, get out operation.

I figured it would be easier to just go home with Olivia and tell Tammy and Bill we had a project to work on. I'd rather tell a lie, then sneak out. They hated it, but let me since it was for school. They said I had to be home by 5:00 though to make dinner. Looks like they're gonna be hungry tonight.

Olivia drove us back to her place like we were in the Fast and Furious. She lived in a fancy, gated community on the other side of town from where I live. As soon as she pulled her white Mercedes into the drive way, she dragged me inside.

We went to the kitchen and she made us two glasses of water and a bowl of fruit to snack on. I was just sitting at the bar, stuffing all of the strawberries I could in my mouth, while Olivia started at me, perplexed.

"Liv?"

"Hmm?" She said, still studying my face.

"Why are you staring at me like I just grew another head?"

"I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do to you." I froze.

"What?"

"Well, you have a pale complexion, and dark brown hair, which means darker colors will suit you more. I have a few dresses that might work, but I'm tan with blonde hair, so lighter colors tend to suit me more. I think I know of a dress that'll work, but I also need to consider the shoes, plus your makeup. I'm thinking for the makeup we go bold and seductive?" She questioned, finally ask my opinion on how I'm going to look.

"Look, I'll wear a dress just because it'll make me look normal there, but how about no makeup?"

"Can you walk in heels?" She disregarded me completely. "Who are we kidding, I know you can't. You should wear them for the dress. You could always just stand there."

"Olivia, no to the heels."

"Why? Then you'd have the perfect excuse for Jake to carry you around." She smirks. I turn bright red, causing her to bust out laughing.

"Asshole." I grumble.

"Oh, please, you love me. Now, let's go we have a ton of work to do."

"Hey!" She quickly grabs my hand and yanks me out of my seat, dragging me to her room.

Olivia's room is practically the size of my house and looks like something from a fairytale. She has a princess bed and a ton of other weird knick knacks. She sits me down in her makeup chair and begins my personal hell.

After an hour, Olivia does the final touches on my makeup before smiling proudly. She turned me to face her mirror and I looked like a completely different person. She gave me a brown smokey eye with black liner and fake lashes. She filled my eyebrows in, but kept them pretty natural. She gave me a shit ton of highlighter and even put some in the corner of my eyes. Lastly, she gave me a dark red, almost burgundy, matte lipstick. I looked different, but hot.

After my makeup was finally done, she spent half an hour doing my hair. She curled it and then brushed it out, giving me beach waves. she made me put on a short black dress that had a v neckline and showed off way more than I was comfortable with. We argued for ten minutes over the shoes, until she won, and I put on black stilettos.

I don't know who I was when I looked in the mirror, but I was definitely not Hannah Hale. I looked rich, confident, and sexy. Like I said before, Olivia is smart as hell, just not in school. It's a good thing she wants to be a fashion designer instead of an engineer.

By the time I was ready, it was 6:00. Olivia was complaining because she only had an hour to get herself ready. We live around an hour away from L.A., and she wanted to get there by 8:00. I was supposed to be home by 5:00, and Tammy was already blowing up my phone.

Tammy: Where the fuck are you?

Tammy: Hannah.

Tammy: Girl, I swear, if you aren't home in 30 minutes, you won't have a home by tomorrow.

I was slightly starting to freak out, but Tammy threatens me with the foster care card all of the time. Olivia told me that I could live here and finish my senior year out with her family, but I didn't want to impose, it just didn't feel right.

Olivia was almost ready and just finishing her hair, which she was straightening. Tammy wouldn't stop blowing up my phone and I was starting to feel guilty about everything. When she saw me in the mirror, she sighed, getting up and walking over to me. She grabbed my phone and walked back to her makeup drawer.

"What are you doing?" I asked her.

"I can see it in your face that you're starting to feel guilty. You shouldn't, and this bitch texting you isn't helping so your phone will be in here until we get back." She says, putting my phone in the top drawer.

"I don't know, Liv." I groan, rolling over and looking up at her ceiling. "This just isn't like me. I have a bad feeling about tonight."

"It'll be okay, Hannah, I promise. You're nineteen, you need to live your life and have fun. Forget Tammy, Jake, Me, or anyone else that you're worried about disappointing. Do this for you." She was right. I was afraid of disappointing everyone, but I was also afraid of disappointing myself. It's just one night though. One night and then the rest of my life will be perfectly normal.

We ended up leaving at 8:30 because Olivia still wasn't ready. It was already starting to get dark outside and I was getting more anxious by the second. Olivia cheered me up and got my mind off of everything by blasting music as we drove down the road, both of us screaming the lyrics.

We finally got to the club just after the sun had set. I expected us to not get in when I saw the huge bouncer, but Olivia pulled us around the side of the building where there was an exit door. She quickly texted someone as we waited and, after a few minutes, Jake opened the door with a drunken smile.

"Hello ladies." He smirked, looking both of us up and down. I looked down at the ground trying to hide my blush, while Olivia couldn't care less.

"Move, Jake, I wanna get a drink." She shoved past Jake and I went to walk behind her, but tripped over these stupid heels. Jake quickly grabbed my arm and stabilized me before laughing.

"Hannah, I'm supposed to be the stumbling drunk, not you." He jokes.

We both walk inside and my head immediately starts pounding because of the music. Jake holds my hand as he navigates us through the sweaty bodies until we get to the bar. By the time we get there, Olivia has already gotten a drink and was flirting with an older guy.

"What can I get you?" The bartender asks, taking my attention away from Olivia. He spoke English well, but he had a slight accent that I couldn't pin point.

"Water." I tell him.

"Okay..." He gives me a weird look as he walks off.

"Come on, you said you were gonna try to have fun." Jake says from my side.

"Yeah, and you said you weren't gonna drink so you could take me home if I wanted."

"I had to drink, I needed the confidence."

"For what?"

"This." He says. Before I realize what's happening, he leans in and kisses me. Holy shit. Jake just fucking kissed me. I quickly kissed him back. It wasn't a peck, but it wasn't a long kiss either.

"What was that for?" I ask, blushing once again. I don't think I'll ever stop blushing at this point.

"You look good."

"Just tonight?"

"Always."

The bartender gives me my water just as Olivia walks over to us, waving a napkin. Apparently she got the guys number. The three of us quickly walk over to a sitting area where a couple of Olivia's other friends are.

I don't mind Jake and Olivia's friend group, they're all nice to me. I know they wouldn't be though if it wasn't for Olivia. Already tipsy after one drink, my lovely best friend immediately steals all the attention and starts joking around. Jake, who sat next to me, was pretty quiet the whole time, but his hand would brush against mine every once in a while, and I knew it was on purpose.

We had to have been there for hours. We talked with the group and danced all night. Olivia could tell I wasn't having that much fun, so she and Jake made me try some fruity cocktail. After three or four of them, I started to feel the alcohol buzz through my system and was immediately having more fun.

After spending an hour on the dance floor, Olivia and I were both sweating. I don't know where Jake was, but I wanted to find him. I wanted to kiss him again. Olivia was dancing on some random guy, so I didn't think my company was still needed.

I walked in, what I thought, was the direction of our sitting area but somehow ended up in the corner of the room. I laughed to myself, thinking it was the funniest thing in the world before looking around. I saw our table, but I also noticed a hallway. I wanted to know what was back there and I let the curiosity of my drunken mind lead me in that direction.

I walked down the hallway, that was much longer than I expected, until the music was muffled. I think it's a bunch of sitting rooms for quieter conversations and other things. I definitely wanted to see the inside of one though so I started twisting the handles on each door I went by. I was about to give up hope, but the last door at the very end of the hallway was unlocked. I smiled as I twisted the handle and opened the door.

I opened the door and I froze. I froze because there were ten people in the room, and five of them were dead. The five that were standing immediately turned their eyes to me. Four of them were around the wall, but one was standing in the center of the room. His suit had blood stains on it and he had a gun in his right hand.

My eyes locked with the one holding the gun. He was tall with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, but all I saw behind his were darkness. He had sharp jawline, cleanly shaved, and a lean build. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm 100% sure he killed these people, I would say he's hot.

"Don?" The man closest to me says. His eyes leave mine and are quickly cut to the man who spoke. Both of them, just like the guy from the bar, had a hint of an accent in their voices. I finally figured out what accent though. Italian.

"Chloroform." Is all he says. Before I can even react, the man next to me quickly moves behind me and puts a white cloth over my face.

I inhaled the scent of disinfectants and my body fell limp.
