"What?" Vita shot up as she looked at me lying across their laps.

"That's what I said!" I groaned, tossing my arms up for emphasis.

"Your mom is coming?" Rosa asked curiously, rubbing my arm gently.

"Yes, and only god knows why." I frowned, thinking back to all the times my mom had popped up for surprise visits when I was away.

"I just hope it's for nothing too serious," I mumbled, trying to find a reason for the current situation on hand.

"Your mom scares me," Rosa mumbled, shuddering as I remembered the time she was introduced to her.

"Maybe your mom just wants to spend some time with you while he's here," Rosa suggested, twirling her fingers in my hair that was laying behind me.

"I understand that-" I began, rubbing my hands over my eyes. "But what about my classes?"

"Sweetie, you and me both know you don't go to class if you don't have to." Vita smiled as I shot a glare in her direction.

"Which surprises me how your grades are still so high." Rosa thought out loud, jokingly tapping my temple.

"Procrastination at its finest." I gloated, pretending to brush my hair over my shoulders.

After going on a short run this afternoon, I came back to the apartment and hopped in the shower. Rosa had left to go have dinner with her little brother and Vita had gone who knows where. Stepping out of the shower, I wrap a towel around myself before turning the water off.

I toss my wet hair up into a bun and placed a headscarf around the edges of my hair, deciding to comb it out later. walking out of the bathroom. I shut the door just in case one of the girls came home early.

Walking over to my closet, I pulled my towel tighter as I opened my closet door. Shuffling through my clothes, I decided on an oversized shirt as I didn't bother to place on any bottoms. I hopped onto my bed, reaching underneath to grab my laptop. I loaded up Netflix before deciding that I needed a snack to go with the movie marathon I was about to have.

I walked into the kitchen, pulling my shirt down as it had ridden up from when I was in my bed. I opened the fridge, beginning to search for anything I could make quickly. All of a sudden, when I was about to take some of Vita's snacks, I heard a violent bang on the door. I jumped, causing my head to hit the freezer and the refrigerator shook.

"Shit..." I mumbled, holding my hands over my head as I shut the fridge and walked to the door.

"Wha-" I began to yell as I opened it, but not before someone pushed themself inside and slammed the door with me against it.

I looked up, rolling my eyes as I see the boy I least expected to see. I looked up at him as the pain in my head faded away. He had motioned for me to be quiet as I heard someone's footsteps in the hall. Then, there was another fucking bang on the door causing Dalton to jump. I would have looked to see who it was, but someone had me pinned against the door for who knows what reason.

"Please, don't answer that." He whispered, worriedly looking at the door.

What the fuck is going on right now?

I decided that it might have been one of the girls that had come back early and probably forgot their key. I mustered up all my strength and pushed him off of me before turning to the door. I heard him pleading behind me to not open the door as I place my hand on the knob. I ignored him as I twisted the door open once more as he quickly rushed to hide behind the open door.

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

"Where is he?" The bitch of the hour spoke as I glared at her irritated facial expression.

"I don't know who you're talking about, Emely." I blandly responded, narrowing my eyes at her.

"Yes, you do. Where is he?" She asked again, trying to look into the room behind me. Judging from recent events, I'm guessing she is talking about the boy behind my door.

"Can you please clarify who the fuck 'he' is?" I spat, wanting her to hurry up and get the fuck out of my face.

"Dalton. I know he's in here." Emely bitched, trying to push the door open which resulted in Dalton being squished.

"When have you ever seen him come to my dorm? Much less, come inside." I frowned, motioning behind the door for Dalton to move farther in the dorm.

"I know you're just lying. If you think he's gonna sleep with a loose bitch like you, you're wrong." She bitched, waving her stupid manicured hand in my face.

"Why are you still here? Don't you have somewhere else to go spread your bitchiness." I groaned, closing the door more as I heard her screech and stomp off.

I sighed in relief as she finally had left. I slammed the door, turning to face Dalton. He sheepishly smiled at me as I huffed and glared at him. I walked over and slumped on the couch, my Netflix and snacking session long forgotten. He walked over and sat beside me as I crossed my arms and looked over at him.

"Are you going to tell me what that was about or not?" I asked, glancing sideways at him as I sat criss-cross on the couch.

"Why would I do that?" He frowned, turning sideways so he was facing me.

"Are we just gonna ignore that crazy bitch coming to my door and harassing me?" I asked, exasperated at his question. "And that was because she was looking for you," I added, poking him in the chest as I emphasized you.

"Emely just doesn't understand that me and her are never gonna happen." He groaned, tipping his head back as I too turned sideways.

"Sounds about right." I scoffed, picking at some fuzz on my socks.

We both sat in about silence, the awkwardness thick in the air. He was twiddling with his fingers as we both avoided each other's gaze. Suddenly, my phone dinged causing both of us to look up. I looked away from him quickly, trying to find my phone. Realizing it was in the kitchen, I stood up to go grab as I heard Dalton whistle behind me when I got up.

"What the fuck?" I gasped, turning to see him smirking at me as I gazed back in confusion.

"Nice view." He spoke, pointing his chin towards my lower half as I looked down and finally realized what I was wearing.

"Perv," I muttered, pulling down my shirt.

"You flashed me." He retaliated, throwing his hands up in defense.

"You could have looked away. You didn't need to stare." I pointed out, narrowing my eyes at him as I watched his gaze travel downwards again.

"My eyes are up here," I spoke, snapping my fingers in his face as he kept his gaze at the hem of my shirt.

"Yeah, I know. I almost got lost in them." He smirked, looking up to lock eyes with me.

I groaned and just flopped back down on the couch, forgetting what I had gotten up for. He turned and draped his arm over the back of the couch. This time, the silence wasn't as awkward as it was before. I had moved to pick at the fuzz on my sock again, not knowing where to take this conversation. Although, I did have a question that just seemed to be lingering in the back of my head.

"Wait, what were you doing here in the girl's dorm anyways?" I spat out, furrowing my brows as I looked up at his now flustered face.

"Uh..." He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck as he avoided my gaze.

"Oh- ew, wait. Nevermind." I fumbled, not wanting to know of his adventures in the girl's dorm.

"No, it's nothing like that. Damn, get your mind out of the gutter, angel." He chuckled, watching as my face had twisted up in disgust at what I thought he was doing.

"So, then what were you doing here?" I pressed, trying to find any other possible reason for a guy with no girlfriend to be visiting a girl.

"I was trying to get a tutor for my science class but that wasn't helpful whatsoever." He frowned, probably thinking at his failed attempt to get a tutor. "The girl who was supposed to tutor me apparently has a crush on me and is Emely's roommate." He added, making me shudder at the catfight that was probably happening right now.

"Sheesh." I winced, glancing up at him with sympathetic eyes. "Wait, you need a tutor for science?" I asked, an idea sparking into my head at his words.

"Yeah or else Coach is gonna bench me for the next few games." He spoke lowly, clenching his jaw as he seemed pissed at the thought of being benched.

"I may know somebody." I smiled, looking at him as he perked up and raised a brow at me.

"You're joking."

"Nope."

"Oh my god. You're a fucking lifesaver. Who are they?" He asked, the eagerness present in his voice.

"Well, it's actually ju-"

As I was in the middle of my sentence, I suddenly heard the door burst open. Me and Dalton jumped up from our spot on the couch, turning to face the door. I watched as Rosa walked into the room, one of her hands on a little boy's shoulder who was her little brother. They both looked up at me and Dalton's shocked faces.

We all just sat there in silence, trying to figure out what was going on. My gaze was moving back and forth between Rosa and her brother. As if he came back to his senses, he began to jump around eagerly as he saw me. Running from his sister's arms towards me with his arms open.

"Aspy!" He screamed, throwing his arms around me as I hugged him back, glancing down at him wide-eyed.

Well, that was surely a chapter! What are everyone's thoughts on the characters? I think that my favorite has to be Vita just because of her confidence and bold personality. I also am very much a fan of Aspen's sarcasm even though she uses it a lot. >.<

I hope you guys are enjoying the book so far! Remember, updates are every Thursday. :) See you in the next chapter! <3
