Yeah, so turns out my knee was a lot worse than I thought.

I had actually sprained it after waking up the next morning and barely being able to walk. Rosa helped me and checked it out, telling me it was sprained.

I felt bad when I told Dalton because he was stressing so much about it. He kept calling and texting me 24/7 to see if I was okay or not. It took me muting his calls for him to finally stop.

We were currently on the phone right now, Dalton still sleeping. He facetimed me when they got to the hotel but never hung up, eventually falling asleep before they had to go practice.

I was busy scrolling on my feed, waiting for him to wake up. I was extremely bored, knowing I couldn't hang up or he would call me back then go to sleep again.

Suddenly, I got an idea and went over to post something on my story. Scrolling through my camera roll, I finally found the picture I wanted.

It was just a simple picture of us walking and holding hands and I captioned the picture saying "mine" with a heart. I tagged him and posted it on my story, smiling to myself.

Many people on campus had already been suspicious of us dating. Dalton would post me on his story every now and again so that only helped to confirm it.

I was lost in thought when I heard shuffling and a low mumble through the phone. I switched back to the facetime, seeing Dalton roll over and squint his eyes.

"Good morning." I grinned, seeing him pick up his phone and rub his eyes.

"I'm so tired." He groaned, brushing the hair out of his eyes. "Is your knee okay?"

"I said I'm fine." I rolled my eyes, looking at my nail as he looked wt me through the phone. "What time do you have to leave?"

He checked the time before thinking it over for a second. "12. We're having lunch before going to practice."

"Go get up and get ready then. You only have about an hour and a half." I told him, hearing him groan and stuff his face in his pillow.

"Wait, angel." He called out as I laid down more on my pillows. "Did you open the bag I left you?"

"What bag?" I asked confused, raising a brow at him.

"The bag I left in your room before I left." He spoke, furrowing his brows at me.

I looked around my room, mentally face palming as I spotted the bag sitting on my desk. It was a small gift bag, a pretty bow sitting on the side.

I got up and walked over to it, leaving my phone on the bed which gained many protests from Dalton. I brought the bag over to my bed, setting my phone up so he could see me.

"Open it." He grinned, tiredly squinting at his phone.

I reached into the bag, feeling a soft material brush against my fingertips. I pulled it out, gasping slightly as I held the jersey in my hands. It had his last name and his number on it.

"You like it?" He grinned, raising a brow as i turned it over in my hands.

I pushed the bag onto the floor, smiling as I held the jersey up. I looked at him through the camera, seeing him take a facetime photo.

As of right now, me and the girls were on our way to the boys football game. This was the game that would determine if they won the championships or not.

"Aspen, is your knee okay?" Vita asked, turning in her seat to see my legs laid across the backseat.

"I'm fine guys. Stop worrying about me." I groaned, rolling my eyes as I adjusted the brace wrapped around my knee.

"Just make sure you don't put too much weight on it, okay?" Rosa told me, driving down the empty road.

"How did that even happen anyway?" Vita asked, turning and frowning at me.

"Um-" I paused, trying to think of an excuse. "I was climbing in the bed but then I hit my knee on the corner of the wall where the window is."

"No wonder it's sprained. That sounds like it hurt." Rosa mumbled, tapping her nails on the steering wheel.

We all decided to drive down to the boy's game together seeing as how all of us were going. I wanted to drive but Rosa and Vita immediately declined to my 'injury'.

"Are we almost there?" I groaned, laying my head against the window as I texted Dalton.

"Yeah, in like 30 minutes." Rosa answered, eyeing her GPS.

I laughed and shook my head, ignoring his incoming messages. Suddenly, my phone kept nonstop ringing with incoming facetime calls.

I looked down to see Dalton continuously facetiming me, not stopping until I picked up. I placed an airpod in my ear, glaring down at my screen as I answered.

"Finally, I was missing your pretty face." He grinned, taking multiple pictures.

"You would've seen me soon." I laughed, noticing Vita look back at me briefly.

"But I wanted to see you now, angel. Are you wearing my jersey?" He asked, the faint sound of loud chatter behind him.

I angled my camera down so he could see my shirt. He started smiling and I moved the camera back up to my face.

"It'll probably look better in person." I told him, watching as he bit his lip. "And your stupid mark is still on my neck."

Yeah, so he might have gotten a little carried away this morning before leaving. I woke up to 3 very noticeable hickeys on my neck and shoulder and Dalton texting me "sorry but u were too cute while sleeping"

"I think it looks great. Really pulls your outfit together." He laughed, noticing the glare on my face.

"Fuck you." I rolled my eyes as he only began laughing more.

"Okay, baby. I have to go now." He pouted, looking like he didn't want to hang up.

"Bye. Have fun. I'll see you later." I waved, hanging up despite all of his protests.

I took out my airpod, placing it back in the case. I shut off my phone and tuned back into the conversation with Rosa and Vita.

"You guys are almost as cringe as Rosa and Hunter." Vita groaned, throwing her head back on the seat.

"We are not cringe." Rosa spoke defensively, pouting as she waited at a red light.

"When are you guys gonna date? The tension between you two is killing me." I asked, eyeing her through the rearview mirror.

"He actually did ask me out." She mumbled, turning onto the street of the stadium.

"He what?" Me and Vita gasped, eyeing her with shocked looks on our faces.

"He asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend but I got too scared. I made up some dumb excuse about needing to leave and I haven't seen him since." She frowned, rubbing her hand over her face.

"Rosalynn Olens, when the hell was this?" I asked, my mouth wide open as I looked between the seats at her.

"Um, last night when everyone else left." She explained before her phone began ringing.

I looked over the seat to see who was calling as she held her phone. She sighed and plugged her headphones into her phone before placing one in her ear.

"Hola, mamá." She mumbled, the frown falling over her face. I tried to hear the conversation as she spoke in rapid Spanish to her mother.

"Sí, mamá. Voy a estar ocupado el jueves y el viernes." She answered, rubbing her temples in frustration. (Yes, mama. I'm going to be busy on thursday and friday)

"Pero no puedo cancelar, tengo que trabajar esos turnos en el hospital del campus para obtener créditos y mi beca." She continued, sounding more and more frustrated as the conversation went on. (But I can't just cancel, I have to work those shifts at the campus hospital for credits and my scholarship)

She sighed before looking out the window and continuing to drive. "¿No puedes cuidar de Ayden tú mismo?" (Can't you just take care of Ayden yourself?)

Me and Vita shared a look as Rosa rarely ever grew annoyed. Those rare times included talking to anyone she finds unbearable or her mother.

"Veré qué puedo hacer." She muttered, turning into the parking lot. (I'll see what I can do)

"Adiós, mamá. Te quiero, nos vemos pronto." She sighed, yanking her headphone out of her ear as she tossed her phone back into the cupholder. (Bye, mama. I love you, see you soon)

We stood up and cheered as the team made another touchdown, scoring a point for our school.

Rosa and Vita sat near each other on my one side while on the other sat Dalton's family. Micah had somehow found his way into my lap as I lifted him into the air every time we cheered.

He was pretty small for a nine year old.

We were nearing the last bit of the game, either team only needing a few more points to win and a few seconds left on the clock.

I stood up with everyone else, shaking Micah as I held him up. We all watched the field cautiously, cheering the boys on. I was scared for the next moment.

5 seconds.

Dalton sped down the field, the ball held tight in his grip.

4 seconds.

The boys from the other team started gaining on him.

3 seconds.

I could see the nervousness rolling off of him as he ran down the field.

2 seconds.

He got close, almost a few feet away.

1 second.

I close my eyes tightly, not wanting to see if he would make it.

Suddenly, the buzzer went off as loud cheering erupted from the crowd. It took me a few minutes to realize the small boy was wiggling around in my arms, screaming loudly.

Holy shit.

I opened my eyes to see the team crowding around Dalton, lifting him up in the air and cheering.

Shit, we won.

They won.

I was in shock as Vita patted me on the back, pulling out of my lost thoughts.

After the boys took their pictures, got the trophy, and did a few other things, family started filing onto the field to congratulate their loved ones.

"Go congratulate your lover boy." Scarlet teased, slightly pushing me towards the stairs.

I sat Micah down in my seat and ran down the steps as I heard other people behind me. I ran to the field, trying to find the lucky boy.

"Stop running!" Rosa yelled after me, reminding me of the brace encased around my knee. I ignored her and kept running which was probably the worst idea at the moment.

I spotted him smiling and talking to his coach, his helmet in his hand. I waited until they were done speaking before running over to him, jumping on him and wrapping my arms around his neck.

"You did it, baby. I'm so proud of you." I grinned, kissing his entire face as he laughed and held his arms around my lower back.

"Fuck, I missed you." He whispered in my ear, holding me tightly as he shoved his head into my neck.

"You just saw me yesterday." I laughed, holding either side of his neck as I smiled down at him.

He rolled his eyes and pulled away from me slightly, his eyes running over my outfit. They stopped on the hickeys on my neck as he slowly bit his lip.

"Careful, angel." He frowned, rubbing the brace on my knee as I rolled my eyes.

He helped me down and noticed his family standing behind us along with the girls congratulating Hunter and Luka. I slowly walked over to Rosa and Vita and congratulated the other boys as he spoke with his family.

A little bit later and the field had cleared out, his family going back to their house as they wanted to have dinner with all of us (Rosa and Vita included).

Dalton came over to me, picking me up and spinning me around in the air. I giggled and leaned down, kissing his lips sweetly as he continued to spin me around.

"Dalton?"
