I get to my math class early and Mr. Peters smiles as I walk through the door ushering me to his desk. He pulls the packet I did yesterday out of a folder and places it on the desk before looking at me.

"Jade you are spectacular."

I am?

"Why do you say that?"

"I have never had a student get about a 70% on this test and then you come in and get a perfect score, how is that even possible."

I shrug

Maybe the other students are stupid?

"If I may ask Jade, where did you study before coming to the academy."

Umm in a basement with an abusive psychopath.

"I was taught privately," I say with a smile.

"Well, they did a damn good job." He sighs and lean backs in his chair, "I don't even think there's anything I can teach you in this class, and I would probably recommend you to someone else, but I don't think they would be able to teach you anything either."

Wait, "are you kicking me out of this class?"

He sighs, "Well I don't see how it would benefit you to stay in here, you would just be reviewing basic thing for you."

I don't want more time to myself, all it would do is give me more time to think, and I don't want that.

"Could I......I don't know grade tests or something?"

He sighs, "I don't know Jade, I would have to talk to the headmaster about it."

Okay good that's not a no, but a maybe, and a maybe is okay.

"For now, you can sit in your seat and do any homework from other classes during the lesson."

I nod and head to the back, pulling out the book from literature class and starting where I left off, I know I'm far ahead but that's alright, at least it's something to do.

The bell rings and people start coming into the class and sitting in their seats, every once in a while I'll look up to see if Charlie and Finn have arrived yet and they finally do, once again a minute before class starts.

Charlie smiles and I smile back, Finn as always does nothing even resembling a smile, but I still smile back at him, and his displeasure deepens.

They make their way to their own seats, and I turn back to my book once again drowning out the noise around me and focusing on the words in front of me.

The bell rings almost exactly at the same time I finish my book and I quickly pack and leave the classroom, now I just have to get through all my other classes.

The rest of my classes were a little boring. I got questioned by Callie about disappearing during breakfast, but I tried to brush her off as much as possible, trying to seem like I wanted to get to my classes early and I did the best I could without lying to her.

Lena was too focused on what was being taught in class to talk to me and I was grateful for that.

Now I'm on my way to training and my bodies itching for the need to be exhausted and I don't think running myself crazy will be that affective.

Deciding to skip training I make my way to the headmaster's office. I knock on the door and wait the minute until he opens it and lets me in.

I don't even wait for him to sit before I speak.

"Is there any way I could go on a mission?"

He sits down and looks at me, "Jade, the missions at this academy are only for elite fighters an—

"I'm an elite fighter," I interrupt.

He nods at me giving me a weary look, "yes I'm aware, but you are also not fighting with the other students out of worry of killing them."

"Yeah, but that's because I don't want to kill them, if you give me a target, I can gladly eliminate them."

He sighs and presses his forefingers to his forehead, "It will also cause a lot of questions to arise Jade."

"Why would it?"

"Because Jade, to everybody else they have no idea who you are and have never seen you fight, if you automatically get put on missions then they're going to suspect something and want to know who you are."

That's okay there's an easy fix.

"So, don't let anybody know about it."

He leans back in his chair and sighs at the ceiling, "I can't do that Jade, all the mission at the academy are done in groups, you would have to train with a group and they would all have to know."

That's stupid.

I lean forward in my chair, "why can't I just go on my own, I probably wouldn't work well in a group anyway."

He also leans forward in his chair and gives me a pity look, "I'm sorry Jade, but its just not going to happen."

Stupid. So fucking stupid.

My fists are clenched at my sides as I stare at the headmaster.

"Is their any training room that isn't being used right now that I could be in."

He sighs but starts tying on his computer, "One of the groups decided to do training outside today, so room 210B is open."

"Great, thanks."

"I'll email Jason that you won't be there today."

I swing my bag over my shoulder and leave the room, heading upstairs I know no one else will be in there because of training. I quickly get changed into some athletic clothes and deposit my backpack on the floor, grabbing the key in my nightstand and leaving.

I get to the building quickly and navigate my way through the halls, searching for room 210B. Finding it, I unlock the door and lock it behind me.

The room is filled with guns along the walls and a large area for shooting practice. I grab a handgun from the wall and make my way to the targets. Disregarding the headphones to drown out the noise, I start shooting the targets, emptying the clip I pull the target in. One large hole in the center of the head from hitting the same spot over and over again.

I go through the motions with different guns trying to tire myself out, but its useless. I wish this room had a simulator because at least then I would get at least a sweat going.

Getting the smallest scratch to my itch I return all the guns to their place on the walls, and leave the building.

I spent so much of my life wishing I wasn't what Cohen created me to be and yet here I am craving it.

Maybe he did create a monster, just like he wanted.

All the training sessions are done for the day as I leave the building and the sun has started its decent.

Damn I really need to work on time management in there.

Making my way up the stairs I open the door to the apartment. I don't see anybody when I enter but I can hear their voices in the dining room.

Phoenix is telling them some sort of joke about something that happened earlier today.

I take a few quiet steps farther into the room, knowing they can't see me from here, but I can't see them either.

A voice that sounds a lot like Callie's, chimes in on his joke.

Laughter follows and I come closer until I'm hidden behind the wall dividing the dining room from the living room, and I see them all smiling, even Finn has a giant smile on his face.

The laughter dies down a bit but the smiles on there faces are still there, Lena looks up from her food, "does anybody know where Jade is? I haven't seen her much besides in classes."

Instinctively I move back from the wall when I hear my name, my ears alert and listening.

"No, she's kind of a mystery don't you think," the voice comes from Phoenix and noises of agreement follow.

"She's probably out with her trainer or the headmaster doing who knows what, its probably how she got into this school in the first place since she has no actual specialty."

Finn.

Stupid asshole Finn.

"That's not fair Finn, you don't know her, you don't know what she's been through."

"And you do?"

"I know some Finn and if you knew even that little bit, I know you wouldn't be talking about her like that."

Its quiet for a minute and Finns voice comes out softer, "what things Callie?"

"Its not my story to tell, maybe if you were nicer and stopped treating her like shit she would start to trust you enough to tell you but instead you act like an asshole 24/7."

"I don't treat her like shit."

"Yes, you do," Lena chimes in.

I get closer again so I can see them, Finn throws his hands up in the air, "Really, give me one example."

Lena places her knife and fork down on the table, crosses her arms and leans back in the chair, "okay, just this morning you made orange juice for everybody else except her and you made sure she saw that."

Finn rolls his eyes, "whatever, if that hurt her feelings she's just sensitive, obviously I didn't make her any, I don't know her and she doesn't belong in this apartment with elite fighters when she's so weak." Finn scoffs, "I mean come on I cant be the only one waiting for her to leave, all she does is get in the way."

I don't stay to hear their answers.

My throat feels tight as I turn and start walking out the door, still being as quiet as I can so they cant hear me.

Maybe I shouldn't be so hurt by Finns words, I mean I've heard worse things about me than that but for some reason hearing and seeing it come from his lips hurt.

My emotions are going haywire and that's not good.

I run down the stairs and make a beeline for the headmaster's office, swinging the door open not even bothering to knock.

There's no one in the room besides the headmaster and slam the door shut behind me and approach his desk.

"I need a mission. Now."

He sighs, "we already talked about this Jade yo—

"I don't care what we talked about. I need a mission, right now or else I will end up killing someone else at this school or I'll find a way out to look for someone to kill on my own."

"Ja—

"I don't want a group or anything, I want to go by myself, and I want the hardest mission you can find, I don't care how dangerous it is, I can do it on my own."

He grunts and sighs but looks on his computer anyways. "The only mission available at the moment is a drug raid and the elimination of an illegal group."

I nod, "I'll take the illegal group."

"Ja—

"I said ill take the illegal group, and I'll be leaving now."

He swallows but pulls a file out from his desk, inside is the faces of 15 men, all with crimes regarding sex trafficking.

Perfect.

"I'll arrange for a car to take you to the location needed, they will be out front in 2 minutes."

I nod and leave without a second glance behind me.

Cohen created a monster, now let's see this monster in action.
