Unfortunately, the case closed, but you got called into another case in Seattle immediately after. It wasn't until the second week of Spencer being gone that Hotch was able to give you a few days off. Garcia bought you a plane ticket to Las Vegas, no matter how much you protested her generosity, and you flew down as soon as you could.

Hey, are you at the center with Diana right now?

You had taken a taxi to the center she was at, hoping that even if he wasn't there, he would return shortly.

Yes. Why? Everything OK?

You bit your lip, smiling as you entered into the main lobby. You asked the lady at the front desk if she knew where Diana Reid would be.

"Relation?" She asked monotonely, quirking an eyebrow at you.

"I'm her son's girlfriend, his name is Spencer Reid. He's here with her at the moment?" You replied, hoping she wouldn't ruin the surprise.

"Your name?" She said, ignoring the information you gave her.

"Y/N, Y/N L/N," you answered, "I can show you pictures of us together or something if you need proof." You chuckled lightly, hoping to brighten the mood.

The lady didn't look amused, "I will call the nurse on the third floor and tell her to tell Dr. Reid that you're here, though he will have to-"

"M'am, I'm here to surprise him," you sighed, exasperatedly, "We live together in D.C. so him visiting here is a cross country trip. I got an unexpected opportunity to come see him and Mrs. Reid for the weekend so I wanted to make it a surprise, so please don't tell him."

"You could've spared me the backstory," she yawned, clicking over keyboard connected to her computer before continuing, "Show me your ID and give me your contact information and I'll send you up."

She scanned your ID and you told her an unnecessary amount of information before she finally buzzed you in. You made your way up to the third floor, showing the nurse at the third floor desk your visitor's pass and asking her if she knew where Diana and Spencer were.

"Oh, yes, you must be Spencer's girlfriend," she said warmly, a refreshing difference from the lady in the lobby, "I take Ms. Reid her medicine every day and the past few days she's been telling me about how she wishes you could've come with Spencer. Do they know you're coming?"

You gave her a secretive smile, "No, it's a surprise."

The nurse gave a little happy squeal, "How exciting! They're in the game room playing checkers, I believe. I'll walk you down there."

You thanked her and looked down at your phone, realizing you hadn't responded to Spencer's last text. You saw three missed calls and two texts.

Y/N. Is everything okay?

If you don't answer, I'm calling Hotch.

Your eyes widened, and you frantically typed back.

Bub, I'm fine!

You turned the corner and entered the room, seeing him at the far back table, looking down at his phone. You smiled and thanked the nurse before typing again.

Look up <3

You watched as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and he slowly lifted his gaze. He glanced around for a moment before finally spotting you.

His entire face lit up. He leapt from his seat, almost knocking it over, running across the room to meet you. He swept you up into a bone-crushing hug.

"You're here!" He exclaimed, "How are you here?"

"Hotch gave me a few days off and Garcia insisted on getting me a plane ticket," you giggled, squeezing him back as you inhaled his scent. He smelled just like cinnamon and fall leaves and everything warm.

He burned his face in your hair, "I'm so happy, I missed you so much."

Your chest tightened, and you finally pulled back enough to give him a short kiss, knowing almost the whole room was watching you. Cheers from the other patients came as you kissed, and both your cheeks turned bright red.

"Go, Spencer!" One older lady called.

You both laughed and he walked you over to the table his mom was at, your hand clutched tight in his.

"Hey, Mom, look who showed up!" Spencer announced excitedly.

Diana turned to you, jumping slightly in shock, "Is that Y/N?"

"Yes, it's me, Mama Di," you grinned, leaning down to give her a hug.

She hugged you back tightly, "When did you get in, sweetheart?"

"Oh, about an hour or so ago," you said, taking a seat next to Spencer.

He placed his hand on you thigh, rubbing little circled, you could tell he was already a lot more relaxed now that you were there. You gave him a sweet smile.

"Was your flight bad? I hope it wasn't. I've heard the airlines keep getting worse and worse these days," Diana asked fretfully.

"It was fine," you reassured her, "I slept most of it, to be honest. We've had several cases so I've been on the go non stop for the past week and a half."

"Bless your heart," she sighed, "You're probably starving, I bet you haven't had time to get a good meal. Spencer, why don't you see about ordering us food for lunch?"

"Oh, no, please, finish your game first, I'm really not that hungry," you said, not wanting to be a bother, even though your stomach was rumbling. All you had eaten that day was a breakfast bowl from some little airport restaurant, and it was so bad that you only ate half of it.

"It's just checkers. Besides, I don't even remember whose turn it is," she shrugged.

"It's yours, I took these two pieces," Spencer informed her quickly, his eidetic memory showing off.

"Well, we can finish the game later, I'm sure Spencer already has the board memorized," she chuckled, "Spencer, honey, go ask the nurse for the takeout menu book."

He nodded gave your thigh a squeeze before pecking your cheek, whispering "I'll be right back."

Once he was gone Diana gave you a knowing smile, "You know, he talks about you all the time."

You grinned, a blush creeping up onto your face, "All good things, I hope?"

"Sweetheart, you hung his moon and stars," she chuckled, "I don't think he could even think about saying something bad about you."

You felt your eyes fill up. Something about her words, so genuine, made you tear up a little and your heart swell.

"Well, thank you, Mama Di. He hung my moon and stars as well," you smiled, watching through the glass wall as he animatedly chatted with the nurse, "I can't imagine life without him."

"Good. That's good," she said affirmatively, "You're the one."

You snapped your head to look at her, the blatant words taking you by surprise, "What makes you say that?"

"I can sense it," she wisely peered over at you, "And I'm never wrong about these things."

You wondered if Spencer had mentioned anything to her. Maybe a proposal was coming?

The thought made your heart race.

That night, after you both said your goodbyes to Diana, Spencer took your hand in his and didn't drop it until you were safely inside his hotel room.

"Spence, have you unpacked anything?" You asked, gazing around the almost spotless room, spying his open duffle bag in the corner.

The tips of Spencer's ears turned pink, a sure fire sign that he was embarrassed, "N-no, not really. I kinda didn't want to in case you...maybe...I don't know...if there was an emergency or something."

Your expression softened as you turned back to face him, "You were ready to drop everything and come home?"

"Of course," he said sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.

You wrapped him up in a sweet embrace, resting your head on his chest, just over his racing heartbeat.

"Y/N?"

"Yes?" You leaned back, giving him a questioning look. He looked as if he might pass out.

As his arms unhinged from your waist and he slowly lowered to the ground, you almost thought he was passing out and went to grab him.

Until you noticed he was on one knee.

With a box in his hand.

"These two weeks without you have been torture," his voice was tight, "and I know that may sound stupid or weird or clingy but I just don't care. I need you, every second of my life. I want you to be with me through everything. I want to be with you on cases and on visits to see my mom. I want you on vacation and on the nights when I can't bear to get up off the bathroom floor. You've seen me at my best, talking about all my niche interests that I love to share and translating Russian films. You've seen me at my worst, when I'm shaking and praying that the craving for Dilaudid doesn't win again. You've never shied away from any of it, not for a moment. I want that to be forever. For longer than forever. For infinity."

Both yours and his hands were trembling as he took your left one in his, "Y/N, will you please be my infinity?"

Tears streamed down your cheeks and your voice cracked as you whispered, "Yes."

The ring he slid onto your finger was simple and elegant and completely representative of yours and Spencer's relationship. It was a thin gold band with an emerald crystal in the center. Unique.

That night as you laid with Spencer's head on your chest, running your fingers through his shower-fresh waves, you allowed yourself finally to dream about a future with Spencer now that it was definite.

Infinite but definite.

I honestly didn't expect to write a proposal but I just kind of started going with it and got really emotional writing Spencer's speech so I kept it. I hope it wasn't too cheesy, I wanted to make sure it was still true to Spence's character! ~🌸
