A few days had passed since Bailee had overheard, the conversation between Aaron, Rossi, Reid, and Derek. When they had gotten back to the apartment that day she wanted to be alone which didn't end up happening since Derek wouldn't let her. He wasn't trying to control her actions but there was no way he would let her be alone. Derek couldn't predict how she would react, would she explode? Break down? Block her feelings out? Start drinking again? He didn't know. So instead he told her to explain to Donovan that she had a very stressful day and would reschedule the date. Donovan replied being very understanding and couldn't wait for the redo.

Derek then told her to shower and get changed into comfy clothes. When she walked back into the living room in joggers and a hoodie. Bailee saw that Derek had also changed into more casual clothing as well. He grabbed his car keys off the kitchen counter and told her that they were going out and both were off work sick for the rest of the week. Bailee felt guilty making him lie about being sick, but he was quick to reassure her that it was fine, and Rossi had vouched for them both.

After 15 minutes in the car, they reached the unknown location, not until she saw the sign on the building door did she know where Derek had taken them both. Facing Derek, she begins shaking her head "really?"

"Yes. Really. You need to destress this is the easiest way" Derek declares.

Bailee points to the signs "you brought me to a rage room."

"The safest way to let out all your thoughts and feelings" Derek walks towards the entrance.

"By smashing things?" Bailee questions.

"Exactly"

An hour went by, at first Bailee wasn't that into but when Derek told her to focus on everything negative that has happened in her life. He told her to push all the anger, frustration, stress, sadness to the front of her mind and concentrate on it when smashing the glass. When she had nothing left she break in the room she whispers.

"Was he ever gonna tell me?"

Derek sighs "I have no idea what that man thinks most of the time. But what I do know is that he will always try to do the best for his kids. Even though he went around it the wrong way and I'm not defending him I do think he was trying to find a way to explain it as delicately as he could."

Bailee scoffs "I found out he was my dad by a serial killer, was he waiting for the next one to come along who likes to gossip?"

"More like he didn't want you're only thoughts of your mother to be negative" Derek explains.

"Look, finding out the way you did was terrible, no one should find out about their biological parents by being kidnapped by a serial killer. If you saw it from his perspective, it was a hard situation for him too, Your mother had died, Hotch telling you what actually happened that night could seem like he was dumping the whole blame onto her since she was dead"

"It just seems like he's always hiding something" Bailee confesses.

"I will punch him, if that will make you feel better." Derek states.

Bailee bursts out laughing "You've already done that."

"So?"

"Are you gonna tell him I know?" Bailee fiddles with the hammer in her hands.

"No. it's not my place to tell him. when you are ready and only if you are ready you can be the one to tell him if he hasn't told you yet" Derek takes the hammer from her hands and walks towards to exit of the room.

"Wanna go get some lollipops?" Derek smirks as Bailee's eyes light up

"Hell yes."

Shaking herself from the memories of the past few days, she looks at herself in the mirror for once she felt pretty. It was Saturday and Bailee and Donovan had rescheduled for him to come over tonight for their redo date. Derek had told her they would have the place to themselves as he would go to Penelope's for the evening. She still wanted to look nice for the date, and with a call from Prentiss she was able to add some eyeliner to make her eyes bolder and some blush. Finishing off with some clear lip gloss she looks at the time on her phone. He would be here soon; her nerves were increasing too she wished she could have some of Donovan's confidence so she wouldn't be as nervous. She was so focused on getting ready for tonight she didn't notice that her phone had lit up and somebody had called her.

"Mini babygirl" Derek shouts from the living room.

"Yeah?"

"He's here"

Bailee drops the lipgloss that was in her hand at his reply "Fucker" She shouts.

"Excuse me?" Derek's voice calls out.

"Fudge nuggets?" Bailee blurts out and opens her bedroom door coming face to face with a smirking Donovan.

"I'm pretty sure I heard fucker" Donovan raises his eyebrows with a mischievous grin. Bailee quickly slammed her bedroom door shut. Hearing him mumbles "Ouch" she opens the door back open to see him rubbing his forehead.

"Not the reaction I was looking for" Donovan mumbles.

"I'm sorry. You kind of caught me by surprise" Bailee bites the inside of her cheek.

"Clearly"

"Um, let's go" Bailee grabs his hand without thinking and walks them towards the living room where Derek was.

"Hey kids, I'll be back around elven alright?" Derek looks at the pair and then directly at Bailee.

"Thank you for this" Donovan says to Derek.

"Of course, however if you made her cry a single tear I will kill you, cut you up into pieces, cover you in bleach then burry the pieces in different places so you will never be found" Derek sternly explains.

"Derek!" Bailee exclaims.

"Understood sir" Donovan nods his head squeezing Bailee's hand.

Derek claps his hands together "Right. I'm off have a good night" He walks to leave the door before turning back.

"Not too much fun" He wiggles his eyebrows.

"Just go" Bailee points to the door.

"Bye" Derek laughs as he leaves.

Bailee looks at Donovan embarrassed "Sorry about him. It's been a rough week and he's very overprotective."

"No worry. I respect him more for it. Not a lot of people have someone to protect them" Donovan. Explains as they both side down on the couch.

As the night went on the couple ordered pizza and decided on which movie to watch. Once they had gotten to the third movie, they were more focused on each other than the movie asking each other questions that they didn't get to on the first date. Changing from basic questions to more personal ones as time went on.

Bailee was curled up in Donovan's side as he had his arm around her shoulder, his fingertips brushing up and down against her skin.

"Do you still talk to anyone where you're from?" Bailee softly asks.

"Just one," Donovan says just as softly as Bailee "Cameron, met him in foster care. I was only there for a few months before I was eighteen. He's just been placed with a family near here actually."

"That's great," Bailee says, "I know foster care is terrible but at least you can say something positive came out of a bad situation."

"Your friendship"

"haven't thought of it that way" Donovan mumbles as he kisses her forehead.

"What about you? Do you still speak to people from foster care" Donovan asks.

"No, they are either dead or in jail" Bailee states.

"Sorry that came out really blunt."

"Don't apologize it's alright" Donovan says.

"It was rough, a part of me sometimes thinks it's a dream and I'll wake up back up there" Bailee explains.

"I get it. It's hard to believe in something you've waited for, for so long" Donovan agrees.

"But it's real" Bailee states.

"We kept swimming" Dovovan pulls her closer to his chest.

"We didn't sink" Bailee adds.

"Nope. We survived"

Not long after their questions Bailee had fallen asleep, Donovan whose main priority was making sure Bailee was comfortable moved to lie down on the sofa with Bailee on top of him. Moving his arms to her lower back he watches the fourth movie, glancing back at Bailee ever so often to make sure she was okay before drifting off to sleep himself.

At eleven Derek had just arrived back to the apartment, he could hear noise coming from the living room assuming it was a movie the couple was watching he quietly walks into the room. Derek would be lying if he said he expected two see the pair asleep on the sofa together. But seeing Bailee's content and peaceful face he knew he couldn't disturb her sleep.

Grabbing a beer from the fridge, he sits on the other sofa and watches the rest of the movie that was playing. The credits had started rolling when Donovan woke up, tensing as he notices Derek opposite him.

"Guessing tonight went well" Derek takes a sip from his beer bottle.

"Sorry, we got talking, and then she fell asleep I didn't want to wake her up, she told me it was a stressful week I thought she could do with the rest," Donovan explains looking down at Bailee.

"Smart" Derek observes.

"Bailee has got to be one of the strongest people I will ever know, for her to let a guy into her life is incredible. You are lucky that you have her in your life, I'm not trying to be a harsh kid but for her to still have trust in people always amazes me." Derek finishes the rest of his drink.

"Don't screw it up."

"I would never" Donovan states looking directly into Derek's eyes.

"Good" Bailee had heard voices in the distance, opening her eyes to see the position she was in.

"Shit" She mumbles rubbing her eyes.

"Hi" Donovan whispers smiling down at her.

"Hi" Bailee replies smiling back.

"Hi" Derek speaks up smirking at the pair.

"Derek? When did you get back?" Bailee questions sitting up on the sofa.

Derek shrugs "Thirty minutes ago maybe."

"And you didn't kill him. I'm impressive" Bailee jokes as Derek snorts in response.

"It's late. I should probably go" Donovan scratches the back of his neck.

Derek sighs getting up "I'm going to bed. See you later Dontell, Bailee please lock the door once he's gone."

"I will" Bailee rolls her eyes still getting lectured about her past decisions.

"He does know my name isn't Dontell?" Donovan asks Bailee.

"Yup. He gets it wrong on purpose"

When Derek had gone to his bedroom, the couple both stand up and walks to the front door. When Donovan turns round placing his hands on her waist.

"Do you forget to lock the door or is that some type of joke?" He asks.

"I used to not lock my door in my old apartment. Not the smartest thing to do when my job is literally to catch serial killers" Bailee explains.

"Yep. Not the smartest" Donovan nods his head.

"Talk tomorrow, okay?" He adds leaning down to kiss her forehead.

"Of course. Goodnight." Bailee smiles.

"Goodnight butterfly," Donovan says walking out the door.

Bailee locks the door and bangs her head off the wall.

"I'm so screwed" she mumbles scared of the increasing feeling she gets around him.
