Author POV

"I. I am in the process of my divorcement" said Jungkook.

"Really?" asked her in shock. That was good news that she almost smiled but she held it back when she remembered how Seolhyun was very obsessed with Jungkook. How could she cope with that?

"Um. I'm going to marry you as soon as it is over. I can't wait that you're going to be legally my wife soon. Jeon y/n"

When he said Jeon y/n, she smiled widely.

"Jeon y/n?" asked her, repeating him.

He nodded.

"I like it," she said with a grin. Then, she moved closer to him, leaving the mattress to lay her side cheek on his chest while hugging him tightly.

"Babe-"

"Shh. It's because you're stubborn that you didn't want to come to me" said her as she knew he was about to tell her to go back to the mattress. She closed her eyes to feel his body heat and his heartbeat. She felt very warm and it was way more comfortable than the mattress.

He let her be and placed his hand on her arm and patted. He was actually loving the way she was being clingy like this and without his consent, he was smiling.

"Jeon y/n" she said again.

He let out a slow giggle when she said it again.

After a moment, y/n opened her eyes back. She just remembered something. Divorcement was not easy. And when she asked Jungkook about how much he had money in the bank, he said there was something that he didn't have told her.

It was an alimony.

She also remembered when he said he needed savings.

"Honey" she called him.

"Um"

"How much is the alimony?" asked her and lifted her cheek off his chest and looked up at him.

His eyes met her. "I don't know yet" he replied simply and his eyes shifted back at the view of the ceiling again.

"How much do you think it will be?" asked her.

"How can I know?"

"Lie. You must know it. You can estimate it"

He started to be pensive again. If he told the amount, he worried if it would weigh her head. But she was not a fool if he lied. "I have enough in my bank to pay her"

She felt at ease when she heard that but thinking back, why did he worry so much then. Was it because his money was enough for the alimony only. It could be. Or was all the lie.

"I don't know why but I don't believe you" said her

"Babe. I'm the only son of the richest family in the South Korea"

"But they kick you out. I don't mean to hurt your feelings"

He sighed out. "I have savings. And some properties. It's just I can't access my properties for now"

She gazed into his eyes, looking for any sign if he lied. Then, his cell phone rang, making her attention switch to his hand that took out the phone from his pocket pants.

"Who is it?" asked her.

"Just someone" he said and then got up to sit causing her to move off from him. He held her shoulder, "Babe, go lay back on the mattress. I want to take this call outside"

She nodded obediently and then watched him leave the house. She knew she had to respect his personal business but the way he did that, making her curious to death. Who is it?

He looked at her phone screen for a while and then he took the call.

"Where have you been?" asked Junho.

"I don't know if you really don't know. Or you just pretend not to know"

Junho sighed out. "Then, introduce the girl to the family"

Jungkook scoffed "Easy to say"

"Why? Is it not easy to do?"

"She isn't.. Their choices"

"Who is 'their'?" asked Junho but Jungkook didn't reply.

Junho sighed out again. "Let's meet". To him, it was not easy to settle things when they were not face to face. He also wanted to see Jungkook as well.

Jungkook pouted out his lips and thought for a moment. There's something he wanted from his father anyways. "Okay" said him.

"Jungsik Restaurant. Now" said Junho.

Jungkook hung up the call and then let out a long sigh. He looked at his phone again and then called his old secretary.

"Do you still work for the Jeon Group?"

"Young Master" said Myundae.

"Don't call me that" said Jungkook.

"Oh, Yes, I'm still working for them, Youn.." Myundae shut his mouth when he mistakenly called Jungkook a Young Master again.

"Get me the financial record in my study room" he paused and scratched his nose. It was hard for him to continue what he was about to say "I know you're not working for me anymore but" he paused again and sighed out, and then he continued, "I ask you for a favor"

Myundae heard the strain in his voice. He knew Jungkook wasn't kind of this person. He usually didn't ask but he demanded. "I'll get it for you. Where can I meet you?"

Jungkook held the file of financial records about the embezzlement by Park's family and then he looked at the Jungsik Restaurant. The place was quiet. It was like his father reserved the restaurant for them to talk. He entered the place, his eyes directly found Junho's figure.

Junho saw Jungkook standing at the doorway and he felt it was quite strange to see Jungkook in sweat pants with just a blank white T-shirt and he didn't have his hair done. Usually, he saw him in the suit or at least with the long sleeve shirt.

Jungkook went towards Junho and then took a seat in front of him.

"I order you a roast beef, medium cook. Hope it suits your appetite" said Junho.

"What do you want to say to me?" asked Jungkook, sounding cold.

"Go back to work" said Junho simply and then started cutting the beef in his plate.

"Stop joking with me"

"I'm not joking. You still aren't fired. Your chair is waiting for you"

Jungkook scoffed and rolled his eyes. "What about the presidential appointment?"

"It is postponed because your grandpa is in the hospital now"

Jungkook frowned. "Why? Is it because of me?"

Junho stopped cutting the beef for a second. "No," said him and continued cutting.

"Then why? Does he know about this? Don't lie to me, I'm not a kid anymore" said Jungkook.

"I don't know. The last person he saw was your mother"

Jungkook smirked. "Mom?"

Junho saw him smirking as his son already had a conclusion in his head. "Don't give up hope. Your mother can't do anything. Let's wait until the grandpa wakes up"

"What hope anymore? The one who was forcing me into marriage was grandpa himself. And I don't need that hope. And I don't want a hope from you either"

Junho scoffed with a smirk. He put down the cutlery and wiped his mouth with the napkin. Then he looked at Jungkook thoroughly. His eyes, his nose, his mouth. "My son, honestly, I'm proud of you"

"What bullshit you're talking about?"

"You have this courage up to this far. Why do you stop now?" asked Junho. He was actually amused by how Jungkook did something that he never had gut to do before.

Jungkook straightened his sitting posture. "Cut off the bullshit"

"Just go back to work. People will start talking, you know"

"Thank you. But I'm not interested"

"What stops you now? Is it your mother? Don't you trust me at all?"

"I don't trust either of you" said Jungkook and then looked straight in his father's eyes. "When I was a kid, I thought you hurt us. And I can't trust you. But when I'm getting older, I realise mom has been hurting me all the time. The older I am, the more I understand it. I can't trust her too. Who should I trust?" asked him with emotionless looks but deep in his eyes, they were holding thousands of memories that he could not point out who was at fault.

"I'm sorry. You know, I was very busy and I couldn't give you any attention back then. I'm sorry that I didn't even ask you what do you like, what do you want, what do you need. It's my fault that I couldn't protect you"

Eunkyung took Jungkook to a restaurant right after picking him up from his school.

She watched Jungkook eating donuts. He seemed to enjoy eating it.

"How is it?" asked her.

"Yum! It's delicious mom!" said him excitedly.

She reached his head and patted gently, "Eat more, my lovely son".

She said and then took a random magazine on the table and started reading.

He continued eating but then he stopped when he remembered about something. He looked at his mother, "Mom, I have something to show you" said him and quickly took out a paper out of his backpack and showed it to her.

She took it from him and read over. It was a notice letter from his school about the sports day with parents.

He looked at her and he seemed to be very timid as he was about to ask her a favor. But seeing she didn't frown caused him to have courage "Mom, can you come with me? I really want to enter a run competition. I can run very fast!" he said with a wide grin.

She put back the paper on the table and then swiped it with her index finger towards him. "Jungkook, this is useless and a waste of time. All you need to do is just study. You need to be smart to be a future president, not this" she said with a smile as nothing happened when it eventually broke his heart.

His grin flattened as he was very disappointed.

"I'll call your tuition teacher on that day. It is better to spend your time on studying rather than that stupid thing" said her and then continued reading the magazine.

"Okay" his voice was low and in strain as he was very disappointed. He put back the paper into his backpack and continued eating donut with drooping shoulders.

His eyes lingered at the view out of the clear window beside him. Then his gaze was fixed at a girl. She looked around his age or younger. She was very skinny and her clothes were very dull. She was alone too. Where's her parents? She was staring at the donuts displayed in the clear glass rack. She seemed to be drooling over it.

Jungkook peaked at the box. There were still some donuts in the box. He took the box and got off his seat and then was about to go to the girl.

"Wait, Jungkook. Where are you going?" asked Eunkyung, gripping his wrist.

"I want to give donuts to the girl outside, mom. I am full already" answered him and pointed at the girl that he meant to her.

She turned her head to look at where he pointed at. She saw the poor gir. Then she turned back at him. "Sit back, Jungkook," said her.

His face twitched in disappointment. Second disappointment as he knew his mother didn't allow him again. He looked at his own feet before going back to his chair.

"Why mom?" asked him as he felt bad for that poor girl.

"You don't know her. And she might be a whore's child" said Eunkyung simply.

Jungkook frowned in confusion. He didn't understand what his mother talked about. "What is whore mom?"

"That your father sleeps with every night" said her.

His frown deepened as he could not understand that too. What it had got to do with his father?

Eunkyung saw the confused look on her son's face. She laughed and then patted his head again. "Nevermind, you're too young to understand"

Jungkook looked at the wall clock. It was almost 2.00 a.m. He was waiting for his father to come home. His father usually came back home at around this time. He was sitting on the sofa with the notice paper from his school about the sports day with the parents. He really wanted to join the event and his father was his last hope.

After a long wait, he heard the door open, he saw it was his father. He quickly got off the sofa and ran to Junho with a big wide grin.

Jungkook held Junho's shirt and showed him the paper. "Father. Look at this. I have a sports day this Thursday, it is with my parents. Can you come with me? Please? Please, please? " begged him with hopeful eyes.

Junho ignored him and took Jungkook's hand off his shirt. He didn't even bother to take a look at the paper. Then his phone rang, he picked up the call. "Oh, hello baby?"

Jungkook watched him. Junho sounded very sweet on the phone.

"Of course, I will be sleeping at your place tonight. I'm going right now, wait for me, baby" said Junho and then went out, slamming close the door.

Jungkook's heart broke as soon as the door slammed right in front of his face. He didn't blink as he was very disappointed at the sight of his father ignoring him, leaving him again. How lonely is it?

When he blinked, some tears dropped. He clenched the paper in his hand causing it to crumple, just like his hope, it was crumpled.

End of Flashback.

Jungkook shook his head. "It's not because you're busy" He paused and then continued "It is because I am mom's son"

What Jungkook said had hit Junho's gut straight in his stomach. It was the real reason that he ignored Jungkook when Jungkook was a kid back then. He hated Eunkyung "I-I'm sorry that I was young and very childish back then. I'm sorry Jungkook. I really regret about it"

"No need. If I were you, I would do the same" said Jungkook, knowing the marriage of his parents was loveless anyway.

"I'm sorry" Junho was in a very deep guilt.

"I don't blame you. But I don't understand why you have me when you already know you're going to do that to me. I just don't understand. It was very lonely. I wish I never existed. It was damn lonely"
