THIS HAS NOT BEEN REWRITTEN.
I don't think I can stress enough on how much I love fluff.

I'm not sure if this is qualified as a Rare-Pair, because the more popular ships would be Germany x Poland and Russia x America, but I've seen more than a few books on this ship, so I'm not saying anything.

Germany was walking through a sunny field when he noticed his friend, Russia. He was sitting under a tree, and appeared to be reading a Russian book. Germany felt himself get excited. He loved to see his friend: even if Russia didn't exactly know he was there just yet.

Russia was deep into his book, not really paying attention to the world around him, so Germany decided to scare him. He crept behind him, and hid behind the tree his friend was under. Russia still didn't notice him, so the German jumped out from behind the tree and yelled;

"Poker Mann! Hallo!" (Poker man! Hello!)
"AHHH!"

Russia jumped, like, four inches into the air. He fumbled with his book, and it dropped to the grass. But that was the least of his worries. He stood up and dusted himself off, like he didn't just scream like a girl. He may still be a child, but he was quite tall for someone his age. Then, the Russian noticed his friend on the grass rolling around, not even trying to stifle his laughs.

"Germany. You called me Poker man?" He asked, but had to wait for his friend to stop his laughter. When Germany finally managed to calm himself down, he sat up and looked at his friend. "Ja," (yes) he said, before standing up as well. They looked into each other's eyes for a second, before Germany decided to speak again. "Russia looks like Poker in Russian," he said simply, shrugging his shoulders. Russia knew why Germany called him that already, but Germany still reminded him. Suddenly, as if magic, a lightbulb went off.

Germany smirked, and Russia frowned. When the shorter child smiled like that, it meant he was thinking up a prank.

"ะฝะตั‚. Whatever vvvourrr thinking. ะฝะตั‚," (no) Russia told his best friend strictly. When Germany did a prank, Russia was usually the target. "What were you reading?" He German asked, changing the subject. He knew exactly what he was doing; he only needed Russia to bend down. "Book about apples. It's cool," the Russian said, reaching down to grab it.

Perfect.

In a flash, Germany bent forward and grabbed Russia's Ushanka. He resumed his normal stance, and put the oversized Russian hat on his head. "Germany. Vvvhat are vouu-" Russia asked, before he realized his hat on Germany's head. He blushed a light shade of pink, and didn't realize how good his friend looked in it. It was adorable, but Russia would never admit that.

So instead he started to chase his German friend, telling him to give it back. If the German child gave the hat back, he wouldn't look so irresistibly cute, and Russia wouldn't be on the verge of a heart attack.

Somehow, Germany didn't take into account that his friend would actually enjoy chasing him around a field on a sunny day, but he was having fun as well, so he smiled. "Come on Russia!" He yelled, doing random zigzags to throw his friend off. Somehow, the Ushanka didn't fall off, but the flaps were blowing in the wind, looking kind of funny.

"Woah!" German suddenly yelled out of surprise. He lost his bearings and tripped over himself, and fell onto the grass. Russia, not being able to stop in time, fell right on top of his friend. "Oof!" He yelped, then immediately remembered Germany below him. He pushed himself up so he wasn't on his friend's chest, but he didn't fully sit up either. He was too worried.

"ะ“ะตั€ะผะฐะฝะธั! Are vvou alright?" (Germany) Russia called out, looking for bruises on his friend's face. He was taken aback when he heard Germany giggling, and he realized the German child was smiling. "That was fun!" He yelled, and Russia couldn't help but smile. Thank goodness Germany was okay. If he wasn't, Third Riech would have him for lunch or something.

"Your hat is comfy," Germany pointed out, feeling the fur in the flaps. He smiled again, and Russia's entire face went red, leaving the younger child confused. Then Russia noticed he had his friend trapped under him, and blushed an even darker shade, If possible. Germany didn't appear to notice yet, because he was too busy feeling the fluff of the Ushanka. Russia went to sit up, but was pulled down by Germany.

Guess he did notice.

"Nuh-uh! You gotta stay now," he explained, and grabbed Russia's arm to emphasize it. The two young countries were laying down next to each other in a bright and green field. Germany didn't let go, and still had Russia's hat on. The two just stayed like that for a while, feeling the warm sunlight on their skin.
