I hummed as I put the finishing touches on my eyeliner. Tossing the pencil back into the makeup bag, I looked at my face in the mirror. Red lipstick? Looking down at my black dress, I nodded. Definitely red lipstick. I glanced at the clock quickly, relieved to see that I still had some time before Brett got here. I grabbed my favorite red lipstick and applied it quickly as I slid across the hardwood floor of my bedroom, over to my closet. I capped my lipstick and threw it into the bed, turning to the shoe rack. Hm, which shoes? My eyes scanned all my heels and flats and I looked down at my dress again. Red ballet flats? I nodded. Definitely. I slipped the shoes on, looking at the clock once again. Five minutes to spare. I threw my first in the air in victory and danced my way into my living room. Falling back onto the couch, I threw my feet up on the coffee table and clicked the tv on. I flipped through channels for a few before there was a knock on my apartment door. Switching the tv off, I jumped up and walked quietly to the door. I could some mumbling, so I leaned my ear against the wood and listened to Brett singing to himself. I giggled and pulled open the door, smiling at the man on the other side. Brett grinned at me, "Hey, baby." He pulled his hand from behind his back and held a pink rose out to me.

A smile broke out on my face as I took the rose, "Thank you." I stepped back into my apartment and put the rose in the vase that was already on my dining table. Turning back to Brett, I grinned, "Ready to go?"

He nodded and held his arm out, "Of course." I hooked my arm with his and followed him down to the elevator. Once we were out on the street, Brett led me to his car and opened the door for me.

He bowed and gestured for me to get in, "M'lady." I giggled and took his outstretched hand, letting him help me up into the truck. He closed the door and rushed around to the driver's side. Brett sang along softly to the radio as he drove us downtown.

I smiled over at him, "Sing louder?" He looked at me quickly, his grin widening. When the chorus came back around, Brett grabbed my hand and sang at regular volume, glancing at me every chance he got.

Brett held my door open once again when we got to the restaurant. We walked side by side, our arms linked again, into the restaurant and were immediately seated. Brett pulled my chair out for me and I giggled, "Quite the gentleman tonight, hm?"

Brett grinned as he sat down across from me, "How can I not be when I'm around you?" I shook my head, trying to hide the blush that was was creeping into my cheeks. Brett chuckled, "Wine?" I nodded and he picked up the bottle and poured us both a glass. We sipped our wine, talking about everything that had happened this week. Soon our meals came and I was giggling through my pasta as Brett told me stories from his past few shows.

Once the plates had been cleared, Brett grabbed my hand and pulled me out onto the restaurant 's patio. We leaned against the railing, the wind blowing my hair around. Brett smiled and pushed some hair behind me ear, "You're gorgeous." I smiled and leaned up, placing my lips over his. He kissed back, weaving his hand through my hair.

I pulled back and smiled at him, "This was an amazing night."

He kissed my forehead, "Anything for you."
