Since Axel and I never decided a time to meet up, I'm at a complete loss right now.

It's the day we agreed to meet for our first cooking session and so far today I've gone for a shower, stress eaten a muffin and then sat in my bed and stared at a wall.

Real productive, Skylar.

I turn on my phone and spot that it's one in the afternoon. That's a good time to visit Axel, right?

I stand in front of my wardrobe and quickly begin pulling out clothing ideas.

I eventually settle on my baggy white jumper and my black, ripped skinny jeans. I wrap myself up in my tartan scarf, green jacket and lace up ankle boots to try and fight the icy, cold outside.

I open the door to my dorm, that I luckily just have to myself, and lock it behind me.

Here goes nothing.

••••

The familiar ding of the elevator, announces to me that I've arrived.

I step out into the, yet again, desolate corridor. Slowly walking up to number fifteen, I hesitantly knock against the door.

It immediately swings open, a girl stands there staring at me.

Wait. A girl?

Her legs are long. Like long. She's wearing a oversized t-shirt that just about covers what needs to be covered. Her blonde hair falls down her back in messy curls, last nights lipstick still smudged on her lips.

"What?" She asks, in a bored tone.

"Is Axel in?" I ask, slowly sanding up to my full height.

Yeah right, I'm five foot four. Most things are taller than me.

"Of course he is honey." She giggles, flipping a bit of hair behind her shoulder. "I mean he's in the apartment. Not making out with me anymore...unfortunately."

I raise my eyebrows, the feeling of wanting to laugh becoming to much.

Who does this bitch think she is?

"Yeah that really is unfortunate." I say, acting sympathetic just to get some answers. "So, Axel?"

"Oh yeah! I'll go get him." She smiles.

Finally, she's being useful.

Suddenly, she turns around. Her lips set in a frown.

"Unless you're his next booty call." She asks, her eyebrows furrowing.

The laughter that I had been holding in quickly bubbles to the surface with this statement and I begin hysterically laughing.

The girl standing at the door looks at me weirdly, but I honestly couldn't care less about what she thought.

My laughter quickly comes to an end as a deep voice comes from inside the apartment.

"What's taking you so fucking lon-" Axel's voice cuts off as he sees me standing at the door.

He's shirtless again.

I mentally scold my heart for speeding up before clearing my throat and looking Axel in the eye.

"I'm here for the volunteer work." I say.

"I knew you were his next booty call!" The girl exclaims.

Okay, maybe that wasn't the best choice of words.

Axel, like me, bursts out laughing at this and wipes his eyes, like the remain of his humour was living in the tear by his eye because as soon as he wipes his eyes, he becomes deadly serious.

"Me and her? Yeah, never going to happen." He laughs.

"Agreed." I say, my tone more serious than his.

"Good, I always knew I was the one for you." The girl says, running a hand down Axel's bare chest.

"It was one night....." Axel trails off, waiting for her name.

What a dickhead.

"Blossom." She scowls. Her eyes that were once filled with adoration, are now filled with pure hatred.

"Right, Blossom," Axel winces when he says her name. I don't blame him. "It was a one time thing, this isn't ever going to happen."

He slowly removes her hand from his chest and drops it by her side, his nose scrunching up in what looks like annoyance.

"What do you mean, do you know who my father i-" I don't get to hear the end of Blossom's sentence, due to a hand clasping onto my wrist and quickly pulling me into the apartment.

The sound of the door slamming ricochets of the walls, the place around me feeling barren and empty. The sound of Blossom's complaints slowly fade out and I can only assume that she's walked away.

Only in a t-shirt.

"Damn, I really didn't think that through." Axel complains, running a hand through his brown wavy hair.

"Yeah you didn't." I smirk, before taking in my surroundings. "Wow..."

I'm currently standing what has to be one of the nicest apartments I've ever been in. The walls are covered in pristine white paint, not a mark in sight. White and black furniture surrounds the open plan design of the place, a wooden floor covering the whole floor. Past what looks like the kitchen dining table is a door which I assume leads to the bedroom.

The best part is the skyline outside, the buildings below look tiny with the sounds of the city beneath me completely silenced from being up this high.

(A/N - How I imagine the living room area, just imagine a skyline outside the windows.)

"Stop drooling, Skylar. It's just an apartment." Axel states nonchalantly.

He remembered my name.

"Yeah, it's a beautiful one though." I wonder, my eyes still trained on the window outside.

"C'mon, I've got things to do. I didn't send her away for nothing."

"Can't remember her name?" I ask, smugly. I cock my head to one side, an innocent look planted on my face.

"Maybe." He mumbles, his eyes trained on the floor.

I laugh as I begin making my way to the kitchen. With the whole place being open plan, it's easy to find.

"Can you put on a shirt?" I ask, leaning against the counter.

Axel stands where I left him, a shocked look on his face. He runs a hand down his chest, biting his lip.

I will not think like a girl. I will not think like a girl.

"You don't want me shirtless?" He asks, his voice deep and husky.

"Nope." I squeak. My voice fails me and comes out sounding unsure and embarrassed.

"Doesn't sound like that. But I'm cold so I'll go put one on." He says, swaggering out of sight and going through the door by the table.

Definitely the bedroom.

I let out a groan as I realise how stupid I looked there.

What happened to me?

Placing my head on my arms that are resting on the counter, I hear footsteps emerging from the bedroom.

"Okay so, what are we doing?" Axel asks, standing beside me.

Lifting my head and standing up straight, I look him straight in the eyes.

They are so blue.

They're like the ocean on a sunny day, blue and clear. Staring straight into my soul.

I clear my throat, clearing my thoughts and willing myself to focus. "I don't know, you're supposed to be the leader."

"Yeah, about that," Axel trails off for the second time today. He scratches the back of his neck, looking guilty. "I can't cook."

"What?!" I was exclaim, my voice rising.

He has to be joking.

"You heard me. I can't cook." He says, shrugging his shoulders.

"This can't be happening." I mutter, thinking out loud.

"Why not? Aren't you just being a try-hard trying to get that A plus?"

"No, my whole college career relied on this."

"You mean your entire college career depends on me?" Axel laughs, his eyes twinkling.

"Maybe..." I grumble, keeping my eyes on the floor.

"Oh, this is gonna be fun." He laughs.

"No it's not, you can't even cook! Jesus, the last three years of my life have been pointless." I freak out, twirling the ring around my finger multiple times.

Suddenly two warm hands close over my wrists. I look up to see Axel staring at me, amusement and concern equally showing through.

"Calm down, Skylar." He soothes. "They don't need to see proof, we'll just lie and say you did it."

"You're an idiot."

"Excuse me?" He asks, removing his hands from my wrists and placing them against his chest in mock hurt.

"Of course they need proof. We both need to take photos of the dishes we've made and submit them separately. To prove that we both made them and there were two dishes." I roll my eyes, letting out a sigh.

"Shit." Axel says, turning around from me and beginning to pace the length of the island.

"So, Einstein, you're gonna need to help me. Or it'll look really bad that the Quarter Back of dreams has falsely volunteered to do something and didn't follow through on it." I state, knowing that Axel can't fight against any of this here.

"You think I'm a dreamy Quarterback?" Axel asks smugly.

"Is that all you got from that?!"
