"I want to die." Rob groans as lets his head fall onto the desk with a thump.

I laugh and shake my head at his ridiculous overreacting thoughts. "It's just an essay."

"And essay that's going to kill me, mind you." He fake cries, his face in a frown.

"Thank god, I can finally get rid of you." I tease, laughing as I grab my bag.

"You're so nice. God, I hate how you're good at school." Robs says as he takes in my attire. "Where are you going?"

"Axel's." I say absentmindedly while I check my phone.

"Ooo, Axel's huh? You gonna make out?" Rob asks, his once depressed eyes now alight with happiness.

"No. And stop saying that." I scold. "We're barley friends, I'm just going over there to do my volunteer hours for the week."

"You could do a lot more than that, honey."

I blush despite myself and show Rob my middle finger.

"You could and you know it!" Rob exclaims, jumping up from his seat and standing in front of me.

"I couldn't and even if I wanted to, it would never work." I shrug, being completely honest.

"Sex would work. Sex always works." He shrugs, his eyes still teasing.

"Get your mind out of the gutter, Rob!" I shout as I leave the dorm room and slam the door shut behind me.

I step out onto the familiar red carpet and knock on Axel's door.

I hear a murmured wait a minute come from the door and then a string of curse words.

I sigh and tap my foot on the floor, looking round the corridor.

How does he afford this place?

The whole building screams expensive and since it's so close to campus, there must be some competition to get an apartment.

Never mind the penthouse at the top.

Looking down at my worn, muddy converse I feel very out of place.

My head shoots up as the door opens. There stands Axel panting at the door way.

"Did I end your sex marathon with Blossom?" I ask boldly.

Axels eyes widen in surprise before a smile over takes his face. "Nah, I was just warming up for our one."

I immediately blush and shove his shoulder with my hand. Axel moves to the side and I step into the apartment.

Dropping my bag on the couch, I look out of the window wall that looks out onto the city.

"Make yourself at home." Axel laughs, before turning serious. "What do you want to cook?"

"Please tell me you have actual food in the cupboards." I groan, but wanting a repeat of omelette gate.

"Yeah, my sister restocked it." He shrugs. "Chocolate cake?"

I grin. "Always."

"What a Harry Potter nerd." He scoffs, walking off towards the kitchen.

"Says the one who knew that reference!" I shout back, following him into the kitchen.

••••

"This looks like diarrhoea." Axel gags as he pours in more milk.

"Gross. It's just not finished yet." I offer, trying to remain optimistic on the whole process.

I crack an egg and put it into the bowl, a bit of yolk touches Axel's hand and he lets out a girly squeal.

A squeal.

I eye him curiously, trying to keep my smile inside. "What's wrong with you?"

"Raw egg. It's so slimy, I've never felt it before." He groans, dropping the spoon in the bowl.

"How the fuck did you make omelettes then?" I ask, thinking about how omelettes are basically eggs.

"I just waited until you had finished your mixture and then swapped them." He shrugs, wiping his hands on a towel after washing his hands.

"I knew I had already added my fillings!" I shriek, thinking back to how confused I was when we cooked for the first time.

"Yeah, you had." Axel nods.

"Ugh. You're. So. Annoying." I groan as I hit him on the arm with every word I say.

"Sheesh, calm down, woman." He grabs my hands in his own.

His hands are as warm as I remember from the sleepover. He stared at me with those annoyingly beautiful blue eyes. The ones that have made almost every girl on campus his victims.

I'm not going to be the next.

Clearing my throat I take my hands out of his.

A blanket of awkwardness settles over us like the first snow on a winters day. Axel is first to break the eye contact as he sets his sight on the bowl.

"Do you think we could just take a picture of that and send it in?" He questions, a smile on his face.

I let out a quiet sigh of relief, knowing we're back to normal. "I don't think the bitch from the office would still appreciate that."

"Still hate her?" Axel asks, crossing his ankles as he leans against the counter.

With him looking like that, I will be the next victim.

"Till the day I die. There's no need to be so rude like that." I huff, rolling my eyes.

Axel placed a hand on his chest as he fakes mock hurt. "Oh, but asking me if I'm warming up for a sex marathon isn't rude?"

"That's sarcasm, if you don't get that. We can't be friends." I raise an eyebrow, a smile replacing the frown that was once on my face.

"It's like you think I'm three." He rolls his eyes, however is smile is matching my own.

"I think you're two, actually."

••••

"Okay, we're getting better." I nod.

"It looks like shit."

"We'll just put some put some sprinkles on it. It'll be fine." I offer.

"Good god, it's like you're trying to make coach kill me."

"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. Never mind finding college and graduating, I just want you to be killed." I roll my eyes, my patience running out.

Who knew making a cake could be so stressful?

"I knew you were a murderer."

"I'm not, you're the guy with the nice apartment. How'd you get it? Dug dealing?" I ask, my suggestions rather stupid.

Might as well irritate him, what's the harm?

"Yep. Marijuana is my favourite." He says seriously.

My jaw drops to the floor as Axel starts laughing.

"You're face," He gasps. "That was so worth it." He nods, straightening up again.

"It was not worth it." I frown. "It's cruel."

"It's a bit of fun." He shrugs.

"Yeah, because that doesn't sound like a drug dealer at all."

••••

I finish the cake and begin to wash up as Axel dries.

Although he's mainly just walking around asking random questions.

"Why are you studying dance?" He now asks, walking round the kitchen.

"Because it's fun and creative." I shrug, not wanting to give to much away. "Why are you doing football?"

"Because I'm amazing at it." He smirks as if it's no big deal.

He leans against the counter, right beside me. His six foot two frame makes me feel tiny.

"Well, I'm gonna have to disagree." I tease.

His eyes light up with an unspoken challenge. "Yeah? You haven't even watched a match."

"Yes I have, the day I talked to you about starting this whole cooking thing."

"Oh, yeah. Well, come to another match." He offers, folding his arms across his chest.

Those muscles should be illegal.

"Why should I?" I ask, not wanting to spend another night in those cold stands.

"So you can stare at my arms, without me noticing." He winks.

My eyes widen as I realise he's caught me checking him out.

Dammit. I need a drink.

"Always the cocky one." I laugh as I roll my eyes.

Finishing up the dishes, I place them on the side and turn to face Axel.

"Don't you have a dishwasher?" I ask, realising that this luxury apartment must have one.

"Yeah, I just thought I'd keep you here longer." He shrugs.

"Idiot." I mutter under my breath as I walk away.

An arm suddenly wraps round my waist and I'm lifted into the air.

"I'm not an idiot." He says whilst laughing at my struggling frame.

He lightly digs his fingers into my waist igniting my ticklish self.

I immediately begin thrashing around, Axel drops me, and I land ever so gracefully on my ass.

On the floor.

I frown and look up at Axel. He hides his smile behind one hand and offers the other to me.

I ignore his hand and stand up by myself. I walk into the living room and grab my bag.

"You alright?" He asks.

"Yeah, your fault though." I accuse, pointing at him.

"It's never my fault, Skylar."

"We'll see about that when you loose your next football match." I say as I walk towards the door.

"As long as your there to watch, I don't care."

"Ooft, don't think shit-yourself- coach would appreciate that." I say, remembering how afraid Axel is of the coach.

"Meh, I'll just do a touchdown next match."

"Wow, I feel so privileged." I laughs as I open the door. Before I slam it behind me, I hear Axel shouting behind me.

"Only for you, Skylar."

Author's Note:

The return of the Axel :)

He was only gone a chapter but I missed him!

The cake at the top is how I imagine Axel and Skylar's cake turned out!

They could use some practice ;)

I'm sorry if there's more typos than usual in this, I'm ill so my brain isn't really working with me today... If you would be so kind to point them out, I'll try to change them :)

Please remember to vote and comment, it really helps!

Much love,
