NICOLE'S POV

*5 years later*

            "It's a girl." Alice smiles before she places my newborn daughter on top of me.

            Without realising it myself, my tears begin to flow down my cheeks until Ava wipes them off for me.

            Rina is smiling as well before she kisses my daughter on the forehead. "Whats her name? Do you have anything in mind?" Rina asks.

            "I don't know ... I asked Ava to think about it since I am bad at figuring out names."

            They chuckle.

            "How about Marie?" Rina suggests.

            "Marie Grimaldi." Ava says it and hums. "It does sound lovely. What do you think, hun?" She asks me.

            I look down at my daughter and smile. "Marie sounds amazing. Thanks, Rina."

            Rina leans in and gives me a kiss.

            A nurse comes and takes the baby away because they need to clean my lower part.

            I doze off from the exhaustion of being in labor for hours. By the time that I wake up, I am already in the wardroom. As I open my eyes, the white ceiling is the first thing that greets me. When I turn to the side, I see Rina, with her glasses on working on something.

            She looks up and smiles. "You awake? Do you want something to drink?" She asks as if she knows what's on my mind.

            I give her a little nod.

            Rina stands up from her seat and goes to poured a glass of water for me.

            "RONALD GRIMALDI, GET BACK HERE!" I hear Ava's voice by the door.

            Not long after hearing that, the door is opened, revealing a little kid running towards me. "MAMA! SAVE ME!" Before he can jump on the bed, Rina manages to catch him by the collar.

            "Ronny, mama is not healthy enough. You should apologise to mom." Rina's voice makes him freeze. . "Ronny ..." Rina's pissed.

            "Rina, don't be mad at him." I pat on the empty space on the bed.

            Rina sighs and does as told. "You shouldn't be too soft on him, or he will step on our heads when he grows up."

            I chuckle when he hugs me obviously afraid. "I don't think he will end up like that since you and Ava always yell at him. He's a kid, a five-year-old kid. He's naughty. Am I right, Ronny?"

            He nods.

            "Ronald!" Ava walks in, and I feel his hold tighten around me.

            "Ava dear, stop being so evil to him. My poor son!"

            Ava sighs at me before he shows us a shredded paper.

            "He put this important paper inside a shredder machine while I was looking away."

            I stare at her. "Is your child more important than your work? Tell me, Ava." I ask.

            Ava sighs again. "My child is important. It's fine, Ronald. You're forgiven." Ava smiles, forcefully.

            "It's fine, Ava, I'll help you with it later." Rina offers her help.

            "Ronny, what do you say to mom?"

            Ronny lets go of me and faces Ava. "I'm sorry."

            Ava waves it off. She excuses herself and goes out of the room.

            "She's probably going to the nursery again." Rina smiles.

            "Ronny, you are a big brother now. Promise mommy that you'll take care of your baby sister okay?"

            Ronny wipes off his tears and nods his head at Rina. "Mama, when are you coming back home?" my son asks me.

            "Soon." I smile.

            "Mama, I made this for you in art class. Aunt Kelly said it's beautiful." He keeps on feeling the  inside of his jacket for something he made for me. He is about to cry for no reason until Kelly barges in out of breath.

            "Master Ronald! You forgot this!" Kelly hands over a small gift box to him. He smiles before giving it to me.

            I look up to Kelly, but she just gives me a smile while Rina shrugs her shoulders.

            "Can mama open it?"

            He nods.

            I smile while opening the gift he gave me. I shake it a little before opening the top cover. I think, it's made using .... macaroni? "Oh, Ronny." I chuckle. I take the bracelet out from the box and put it on around my wrist. "Mama loves it, Ronny. Thank you."

            "Nothing for mommy, Ronny?" Rina asks.

            "Nope. Mommy has to wait for her gift."

            Rina is astounded by his response, and so am I!

            We all hear a knock on the door before Kelly goes to open it herself. It is Ava with our newborn daughter. Ronny is standing on the bed when he noticed Ava coming in with Marie.

            "Sister?" He asks while pointing at her.

            I nod.

            "Ronny, meet Marie, your baby sister." Rina introduces her to him. Ava lowers her body a bit so that Ronny can see his new baby sister.

            "So tiny." He pokes her cheek.

            "Ronny, don't poke her. You'll make her cry. You should be a good big brother, okay?" Rina says to him.

            He nods his head while standing on his toes.

            "Did Alice tell you when you will be discharged?" Ava asks me.

            I shake my head no.

            Ava goes to Rina and asks her to hold little Marie while she goes to see Alice. "Kelly, follow me please."

            Kelly nods and follows Ava out from the wardroom.

            Rina goes to sit in a chair by the bed and plays with little Marie.

            "Mama, why are you crying?"

            Wait, what? Crying? I wipe my cheeks with my hand.

            "What's wrong, Nicky? Does it hurt? Do I need to call the doctor?"

            I shake my head no. "It's not that. I didn't even know I was crying, geez, relax!" I snicker.

            Ronny goes to sit by my side again while comforting me. This boy is really worried about me. Is he?

            "Ronny, why do you have to be so cute! Oh, mama loves you!" I almost forgot that I just pushed a human being out of me when the pain comes back as I am trying to hug him.

            "Be careful! Geez." Rina chuckles.

            I can't wait to get home to be with my family to be with everyone.

            "RONALD!!! GIVE ME BACK MY PHONE!" I hear Ava's screaming voice across the hallway. From the tone of her voice, she's obviously pissed off.

She really needs to control herself more, or she will wake Marie up. She's been acting up all day, and i just managed to put her to sleep! As I was walking down the hallway, I notice Rina walk out from her room as well.

            "He never learns, that little boy? He enjoys making Ava mad at him." Rina shakes her head before we both go down the stairs.

            Before we even get to the first floor, we both see Ronny and Ava chasing each other.

Ava's phone is ringing, and Ronny just won't give up.

            "Ronald Bennick Grimaldi! Put down the phone now!" Rina warns him.

            Ronny gives up and does as told.

            Ava manages to answer the call and goes to her home office.

            I cross my hands while looking down at him. "Is it fun to make your mother yell like that?" I ask.

            He shakes his head no.  "Mommy was sick all day. Mom just keeps on doing her job without taking care of mommy." He says lowly with his head down.

            I turn to Rina who's smiling but trying to act tough.

            "You should find another way to gain mom's attention. You should never play with her phone."

            He apologises again. He really does listen to me. It is quite fascinating that he's not afraid of me.  Well with a face and hands like mine, kids tend to run from me. Some even call me a monster when I accidentally go out without my mask on. But for Ronny, he's different. He's not even afraid of me. He even calls me his superhero since he saw this show about masked adults. He's actually quite matured for a five-year-old.

            "Well, that was fortunate." Ava comes to see us. "You look a little pale, Rina. You've been up all night long again. Weren't you? Why aren't you sleeping?"

            Rina sighs. "How can I sleep if I constantly hear you screaming at my son?" Rina does have a point. She yawns before excusing herself.

            Ronny is about to follow her, but I grab the back of his collar.

            "You, young man, will be spending time with mama. Let mommy have some rest okay?"

            He nods.

            I look up to Ava. "What about you?" I ask.

            "I'm going back to the office. I need to finish up something important for tomorrow's meeting."

            I nod before she gives me a kiss on the forehead.

            "So long, gremlin. Do not trouble your mama too much." She even calls her own son a gremlin. Seriously Ava?

            "Please don't call him a gremlin."

            Ava laughs it off before messing up his hair. "What? He's my gremlin." She laughs while she goes to her office.

            I sigh before smiling at him. "What shall we do now, Ronny?" I ask him.

            "Let's play in the garden!"

            Play? All right then. I take his hand and lead him towards the library. I let him search for the book he wants me to read to him while I wait. When he finally finds it, we both walk towards the garden.

            I don't know how Rina did it or if it's already in his genes when he was born, but, this little boy really likes to read. And what he means by playing is reading a book!

            "Mama, look. It's Anna." He lets go of my hand and runs towards Princess Anna of Astor, Mary, and Daniel's first born daughter.

            Hold on. I didn't even know they were coming to visit.

            I smile when I see Mary, the Queen of Astor, wave at me.

            "I see Daniel's still avoiding coming here to meet Ava and Rina."

            We both chuckle as we hugged each other.

            "He's busy. The festival is coming up, and he has a lot to think about."

            Oh yeah, Rina did mention the festival earlier.

            "We were actually going to the garden. Want to join us?"

            Mary nods.

            Anna is surprised to see me, but her mother gives her a stern look. She gives me a curtsy before Ronny takes a hold of her wrist and they both walk towards the garden.

            "I'm sorry for that."

            I wave it off. "It's fine. I don't mind at all. Even I scare myself once in a while." I try to think positive about my situation. "When are you due?" I ask when she looks like she's going to be in labor at any time now.

            "Two week's time. The doctor said I should walk around and exercise. That's why I'm here, with Anna. I mean just walking towards the garden is taking this much effort."

            I chuckle. I know what she meant by that.             "You're lucky Alice didn't force you to do that Lamaze exercise. Mine was horrible, but Marie was born with good health. For that, I am glad."

            Mary seems like she remembered something."Where's Adelaide?" She asks about my adopted daughter.

            "In school. I don't know if she's going home today because she mentioned a sleepover. She does have friends, and she's old enough to make her own decisions, that's what she said when she asked for my permission." I shake my head while smiling at myself as I remembered how she asked for my permission.

"She's 14 Huh? I wonder what will Anna say when she asks for my permission in the future."

            I chuckle.

            "Did you ever think that you'd be living in a place like this in the future?" She suddenly asks.

            "Well, did you ever think that you'd be queen in the future?" I ask her back.

            "No fair! I asked you first!"

            We both laugh.

            "But, honestly, I thought that I would be working at that little coffee shop even after I graduated from the university. Do you remember that shop? We used to go there, and we saw a couple of our seniors working there before. We always thought that we would end up like that."

I nod. Who could forget such a sight? The seniors we thought would be doing great were actually a waitress.

            "It's hard to find a job in Maestropolitan. Even if you're a university graduate."

            Suddenly, we hear Anna cry. We turn to her direction and wonder what just happened.

            "Ronny, what did you do?!" I ask.

            "Not me! It was mom! She scared us!"

            That's when I notice Ava trying to persuade Anna to stop crying.

            "Seriously, Ava, she's just a child," Mary says with a hint of amusement.

            When did she even come out here?

            "Help me, please!" Ava begs.

            "Wait, wait, wait! What are you doing?! We're in a hospital!"

            Ava covers my mouth and places a finger on her lips as one of the nurses walks passed us.

            "Everything's alright ma'am?" She asks.

            "Everything is perfect," Ava replies to her while giving her a gentle smile. I can see how the nurse blushes at her!

            "Enjoy your visit." She says before leaving us alone.

            Ava suddenly pins my body using her own against the wall. I don't know what happened, but I can see where this will lead. She is about to remove my mask when I grab her hand.

            "We're in public," I whisper.

            She sighs before looking at me with a smirk plastered on her face. She drags me towards a room not far from where we are. I am worried that the hospital personnel might find us in here. But this woman doesn't care! She pushes me into the room and locks the door behind us.

            "Ava, can't we wait until we get home? Rina's alone with Marie now."

            Ava walks towards me while licking her lips. "There's a lot of people before our turn. I'm sure Rina can handle it alone for about ... I don't know, half an hour?"

            My eyes widen. She really planned to have sex here?! 

            It is too late for me to say something when she unzips her jeans and once again she pins my body against the wall. Not gonna lie. Being in such a risky situation and not knowing who might be coming through the door does excite me even more.             The drive towards the palace is awkward with both Ava and Rina talking about work.

            Since the tragedy that happened to me, I completely isolated myself from the outside world. I didn't even get to finish my studies like everyone else. The only time that I needed to be outside was for my doctor's visit or when I was forced to follow either Rina and Ava to one of their business conventions. Even then, I would just stay in the hotel room. Vanessa 'fixed' most of my wounds, but, even so, the aftermath is still there. I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror without my mask. I cried every time I went to the bathroom to take a shower since I have to look at my damaged body.

            At first, I refused to let both Ava and Rina see me the without any clothes on since I was afraid they would be disgusted.
