"There's," he cleared his throat and looked at Korali but not really at her. He was looking past her head. "There's only a couple of days till the heat starts and there's a treatment. It will take away the force that's hitting us. Before you to to your parents so you wont be in so much pain."

"I should probably visit my parents today so that I can make an excuse about why I'm there. My mom will like to think it's you. And even though it is, I'd like to not say she's right about everything; even if she is."

"Like I've told you when I first met you. I could care less what people think of me. Including your mother." He shook his head walking a little bit closer as if to intimidate her. "But know that my intentions are not to cause harm to you."

She nodded, "What is the treatment?" She didn't want to do it, but it would help if her brain wasn't so clogged with lust all the time. She would get some time away from Jordan to think and to breath and to feel like she's loved—at least by her family.

Her phone vibrated in her pocket, so she picked it up looking at the screen its glowed Peter's name and she smiled, Jordan's mouth twisting into a frown.

It read 'Hey, my friends are having a wedding. You think you could come? I'd like to see you, and it's an its adventure?'

Korali turned her back on Jordan laughing slightly and ready to send her message back. She most likely couldn't go, she knew that Jordan wouldn't let her go and it would be entirely too far to run away to.

"Is it Kaliko?" Jordan questioned. He only wondered because he hoped it wasn't that human Peter that she was so fond of. He wanted to call the human and tell him to never call back or he'd rip his teeth from his gums one by one.

"No, it's Peter." Korali laughed again when he sent a picture of a droopy puppy saying 'please? I miss you.'

Jordan's growl made Korali look up to see how he close he was and that he was reading her texts. She walked towards the house and into her room, only for him to follow her.

"It would make me very happy, Jordan." Korali muttered gently feeling tired. She's tried. She felt like she was getting nowhere with him. This all felt pointless.

"Seeing this human will?" She only nodded feeling small in the huge room her mate sitting like steel on his bed.

"If you do this I promise not to threaten to leave you again." In her mind she added I will just do it, if need be.

Jordan paused looking at her, his heart heavy in his chest. "Leaving would only hurt us both."

"Yes, but I think that staying here and watching you hate me; hurts worst."

"I don't hate you."

"My arcadia is gone Jordan. You're taking it away from me. Maybe God or fates or whatever got it wrong. Maybe were weren't meant to be. He made the rejection possible for a reason. And maybe we were just destined to be one of those rare examples." He turned away from Korali. He continued to breath and she stayed at my place near the bed. It hurt for her to even speak of rejection, the lump settled in her throat as she said the words. They felt like burning embers shoved up and out of her throat and singeing the tongue.

"Korali, I know you don't understand what's going on. But I do. And it's a burden that surrounds us all. It doesn't need to surround you." He paused and it had Korali thinking that, that was honestly the nicest things he's said to her since he's found her.

"Let me help with the burden" She spoke lifting her chin bravely.

"Fate should never had paired us; I agree" that's not what she meant or even said. She tried to tell him but he cut her off. "You don't deserve me, and I most definitely don't deserve you." Korali took that meaning differently than Jordan meant it and before he could backtrack and tell her that she was too good for him, he'd already dug the whole too deep.

"I don't deserve you? I know I'm not an alpha born Jordan, and I'm not quiet but you're not perfect either. In fact—" She was silenced by his lips on her and his large warm hands on her arms. They were like an oven heating up her skin and causing Goosebumps anyway.

His tongue dove into her mouth making her melt against him and her fingers claw down his arm. After about 10 seconds, he pulled away leaving her dazed and confused. "That's not what I meant. Despite how I may seem to you. I could never hate you. Us—me and you, being a partnership rather than a couple will be for the better, for you."

He looked at his hands in disgust ripping them from off of her and backed up, Korali closed her eyes, wanting to cry at the fact that the heat was having such a dizzying affect on she and Jordan.

"I'll take you. Just—just leave me alone." He turned from her and he took off from the room. She just needed to cry. Just a little. She was going to see one of her best-friends and that was something to be happy about.

Korali is practically bouncing in her seat. Her peachy sundress resting slightly above her knees, showing a nice even display of her thighs that were dotted with a couple of moles; but even that was too much for Jordan's wolf. He tried to reign in his arousal although he was sure that she could probably tell by his eyes. He tried not to flash them in her direction, but her voice caught his attention.

"Thank you, Jordan." Those words caused his eyes to snap toward her glowing browns. Korali's eyes noticed his blue and browns quickly, her body responding quickly because of the heat activating slightly in her body. She still had two days of her period left, but the flow was slowing and everything in her and in Jordan knew; all instincts were based on this.

Her intake of breath caused him to abruptly stop the car. They stared at each other for a solid three minutes before they clawed at her seatbelt with jerky, rapid movements.

Korali threw her arms around him as he lifted her out of the seat and into his lap. Her nails dug into his scalene muscles eliciting a growl from Jordan. Their hungry lips lashed onto each other almost painfully, smacking sounds at their release and almost teeth clashing as they joined.

"Jordan," Korali moaned rubbing against his groin, causing a moan to come from him. She broke the kiss and began kissing at his jawline while he ground his body into hers. She peppered kisses breathily, her warm breath only adding to the heat of their skin. His hands gripped her thighs where he knew those moles were and he wanted to kiss every inch of skin they were on. Korali was sure that if they could be a color, that they'd be molten red; on fire and able to destroy anything in their path. His hands slid up pushing her dress higher and higher till it he touched her underwear.

He wanted to turn the car around and drive into the woods and show her how evil he was; how much they were supposed to be together in a bodily way; although he even knew that was a lie. He knew he couldn't. He didn't have a condom with him and he wouldn't want to risk her getting pregnant with—with his genetics. It would be horrifying. He was completely surprised at himself that he didn't just do the right thing and let her go and be happy; he was being incredibly selfish—for the pack of course. He was also shocked that she hadn't simply called him a monster based on the sheer fact of what she's heard about him and his—family.

He didn't want to become that, and he assumed that his bloodline it would cause it. She was a perfect girl and she didn't belong. She shouldn't have to be subjected to becoming crazy. He couldn't let her. Plus, her actual mating would be disloyal to the pack. It would cause and unsafe uproar of history's repentance and he wouldn't let that happen.

He pulled her away, breathing hard. Korali pushed her lips back to his and it took everything in him to rip her away. He could smell it; taste it, her heat was practically here; the last days of her menstrual cycle were dwindling. Her eyes were a bright brown, her lips attached to his neck causing him to moan, his hands tightly fisted at his sides, a small "fuck" escaping off his tongue.

"Korali," he forced but she mewled a small "huh?" against his neck that made him swallow his words. She grinded into him a little. "Korali stop. This should no—" his words were caught in his throat by her incisors nipping his skin. Because marking was completely primal and a male thing, female bites did nothing but act like a hickey; they wouldn't last very long but they were still arousing. It felt so good. So good that it felt impossible that it was happening to him—to evil. Jordan needed to absterge her, as well as evil could at least. He didn't deserve this. He felt as if he would probably ejaculate prematurely so he froze and caught her wrist forcing her into her seat.

Great, Jordan thought. Now he was horny, hot, and hard. He ran a hand through his hair licking his warm lips, tasting Korali's fruity gum.

Only their breathing could be heard, and he rolled down the windows to cool down their racing hearts and heated limbs. Jordan's body decided to calm down as well.

"I'm sorry," Korali said after catching her breath. "I—I don't know what that was." Korali would always remember this as a particularly halcyon.

"That was the heat." Jordan murmured quietly staring at his hands. He'd never lost control like that—nor would he let himself again.

A knock on the window caught the two by surprise, although Jordan would never admit it. He looked his left to see the valet was standing there looking nervously. "Sir, do you want your car parked?" Jordan nodded his head firmly before opening the door once the valet moved back. He was on the other side opening Korali's door before she could realize what was going on. She was still a bit dazed from just a few minutes ago.

She hopped from the SUV, smoothing out her dress and Jordan pushing her straps back over her shoulders.

He didn't touch her soft, corkscrew curly, tresses of hair; so it was fine. She would need to put on some more lipstick but other than she still looked good. Jordan straightened his button up and ran a hand through his short hair. He had cut his hair in hopes that Korali would hate it—therefore dislike him more. She didn't say anything. She commented once that she liked his hair long, so he did the opposite.

Korali quickly turned to the mirror on the side of the car putting on a fresh coat of her coral lipstick before the car drove off. She straightened up and Jordan took his eyes off of her butt.

Korali and Jordan's eyes watched as a man went to the door of his expensive Lexus and helped a woman who was super far along in her pregnancy out. She clawed at his hand, "I'm fine, Carson. I'm pregnant, not handicapped. But my back does hurt." The whine on the last sentence made the guy—Carson's hand go straight to her back rubbing small circle.

"Skarlet if you don't feel up to this, we don't have to go."

"Shh, we're going." She hushed him and she waddled alongside of him heading towards the white gates that led to the wedding. Korali practically sighed at the fact that was never going to be her.

Korali and Jordan walked down the sidewalk and towards the entrance when Peter caught her eye. "PETER!" Korali squealed running up to a male with curly black hair that flopped slightly over his face and a tall sturdy body. Jordan did everything he could to calm his wolf. Beating a human to a bloody pulp was beneath him. But that didn't mean he didn't picture it and want it. His hands tightened with the malice that he was raised with, that he was supposed to have, but didn't want.

Korali wrapped her arms around Peter, missing her old friend's comfort and laughter. He hugged her back long and hard and squeezing a bit. When he released her his eyes glanced up and caught Jordan's glared. He smiled whispering in Korali's ear, "Who's the tall guy glaring at me?"

"That's Jordan," she didn't know what to say—what to call him. But she wasn't going to lie to her friend. "We're complicated, but he's my soul-mate." She smiled up at Peter slightly. Peter didn't know about werewolves or anything magical. His idea of magic was pulling rabbits out of hats.

"Are you sure?" Peter asked quirking an eyebrow up at his friend. "Doesn't seem like your type."

"Maybe that's why he was picked."

"I've never questioned you and Kaliko on your weird ideas of soul mates and I wont now. If you say he's your soul mate and you're sure, then I believe you. Where's Kaliko?"

"Her brother's ma—wife went into labor. Little Lahela is being born and she couldn't miss it. She told me to tell you that she will come visit herself in a week or two."

"Okay," He shrugged looping his arm with her and casting a look that said "come along" in Jordan's direction. Korali knew that would just irritate the shit out of Jordan. He was an alpha, he didn't do well to commands.

Peter steered me into the gated part where the wedding would be taking place. The grass beneath her strappy wedges was leveled, cut to perfection, and as green as Jordan's eyes. She couldn't help but search around for Jordan. She found him seated at a stone bench near a fountain. The Greek sculpture next to him was nothing in comparison to Jordan. Nothing.

Korali turned my attention back to Peter who was telling her about everything that has been happening in his life. She joined in, paying attention and laughing along. It had only been about 3 months since she'd last seen him. He always managed to make her laugh when he spoke about his friends and their hijinks.

"Any girls in your life Philandering Peter?" She gave him a knowing look and he smiled sheepishly.

"There's one I have my eye on," He shrugged and Korali knew that was all she was going to get out of him. Although Peter moved away after the 6th grade, she and Kaliko kept in touch with him—they made a vow to be friends for life.

As they settled for the wedding she and Jordan sat towards the back, she didn't know how he felt at these kinds of things. It was a lot of people and she had already left him alone for more than an hour. Korali felt bad for that.

An old lady had to get passed them to her seat so Jordan and Korali stood, Jordan's arm wrapping around Korali's torso, pulling her back a little more. "You're a very attractive couple." The older woman said and Korali knew Jordan didn't like when people said things like that.

She fixed her mouth to tell the lady that they weren't together but Jordan cut her off. "Oh, he's n—"

"Thanks." Jordan grunted sitting her down with him. Korali smiled brightly at the older lady before fixing the skirt of her dress.

"If you're uncomfortable, I can always make an excuse to leave," Korali was trying to be understanding. He was out of his element, she was forcing him here and she had already spent enough time here.

"It's fine." His answer was simple and straightforward as always. Korali watched a girl and boy about her age running down the aisle into their seats fixing at their clothes. She held in a giggle, the girl's hair was caught in her dress straps and his shirt was poking out of his fly.

As the wedding music started Korali noticed Jordan mouth fix into a frown and his eyebrow crinkled looking down towards the grass. She wanted to ask what was wrong, but she refrained simple because she knew he would tell her to stay out of it.

The bridesmaids walked down first, followed by the bride in her traditional dress, her smile bright and happy. She met her blond husband to be at the front and he took her hands into his own and smiled.

Korali felt like she was a secondary character in a romance movie when they finally said their "I do's."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Taylor. You may now kiss the bride." Their kiss was sweet and loving. Nothing like the heat induced kiss that the heat inspired between Korali and Jordan.

Jordan watched Korali and the wedding the entire time. He could see the look on her face. He hated it. He was taking that away from her—he wasn't going to give her any of this. He was evil, and she needed to know that.

Once the reception started the dance floor was found by most of the guests right away. Korali and Jordan stood near the door. Jordan merely followed Korali not understand what she was doing. He only stood like a statue waiting for her move.

Peter rushed over to them hugging Korali and squeezing her causing her to laugh and beg him to put her down. Jordan almost snapped he growled lowly in his throat causing Korali to push Peter away and grab Jordan's hand giving it a squeeze.

She let go of it quickly knowing how he felt about touching for too long. But it left Jordan feeling empty without her touch. Jordan didn't like Peter--in fact he almost downright hated him. But the human made his mate happy and killing him wouldn't be in his best interest. But Jordan did want Korali to hate him right? He thought about it for a second till the human spoke again.

"You should go dance Kore. I promised that little girl that you would." Peter gave her a little push after she glared playfully at him. When Jordan saw her response he realized he couldn't do it. Sure he wanted her to hate him, but not because he murdered one of the best humans out there. Jordan scoffed.

"I see the way you look at her when you're sure she's not looking." Peter said suddenly looking slightly up at Jordan to make eye contact. Peter was tall, standing at 6"1, but Jordan had a couple inches over him. "I don't know what you did to make her fall in love with you but don't take it lightly. Not even fate could make Korali stay where she's unhappy." Peter chuckled scratching the back of his hair.

He was an unknowing human Jordan thought. if only he knew that it was exactly fate that had Korali sticking around. And in love? As if. Korali wouldn't fall in love with someone who was treating her so wrongly. He knew she was above that and he didn't deserve her love. Evil couldn't love back.

Jordan just looked at him. He knew so much more about her than he did, and in a way it bothered him. He was jealous despite not wanting to admit that freely. Was this the human that would love her if he wasn't to? He wanted to wrap his hands around his throat and squeeze the li—

"Look at her." Jordan's eyes swept the crowd to find his mate's peachy summer dress. As she danced he could see splotches of those thighs he had caressed earlier that day. "I don't know what she's been up to for the couple months but, she seems different. In some aspects happy in some ways sad. I mean this is dimension for Kore. She's always just had one attitude and that was a shrug and its worth the try. This attitude is tempestuous." He paused watching her dance at the wedding with a small child flailing her arms at a faster pace song. "She seems more adult like. Like she took on responsibility and accepted it."

Jordan didn't speak. Peter was doing most it for him. He was telling him things about his mate, that he should've, but never bothered to pay attention to. It bothered him. "You don't seem like her type. I can say that." Jordan's eyes flickered
