69,heh.

Not proof read cause I#m pooped sry. (Okay maybe im just lazy but still.)

"Some of these rooms are so dusty!" Alex commented as he bounded through the old unused kitchen. The room was very large, probably used by many staff to cook my ancestor's meals. My father's side of the family have always had this manor, the Marston manor.

I remember hiding in here a lot when I played hide and seek with Layla. No one ever goes in here anymore. We used to use the kitchen Matías walked into earlier, smaller and easier to use.

"Alex! Don't get lost!" I called after him when I realised he was no longer in the room, sighing before walking in the direction he went. I turned the corner to see him poking at an old looking wind up clock.

"Please don't break anything." A deep voice warned him, and I looked over to see Matías gripping a cup of steaming coffee in his hands.

His eyes then shifted to me and he stared at me, his expression looking calculating.

"You may stay in your original room, your American may stay in the room next door." He said and Alex gave him a look at the words 'your American'.

"I'm guessing you're planning to return to America, because you brought him along. I mean, unless he wants to stay too or something..." He said and Alex chuckled.

"Of course he's returning!....Right?" Alex suddenly looked at me wide eyed and I smiled reassuringly.

"Yes." I said and Matías sighed.

"Court it is then." He stated before turning around and walking off and I frowned.

"Lets go find your old room!!" Alex suggested and I snorted.

"Alex, I know where my old room is, I grew up in it."

-

I looked around the barely changed room with an almost painful feeling of nostalgia. It still had the lame child drawings pinned to the walls. The overall room was very 'mature'. It was an old looking room, of course. With a large Victorian styled window on one side with the large double bed on the other, next to a door to an en-suite. To the left wall in the corner closest to the window, was the entrance we walked through, with a small door to the guest room nextdoor directly opposite.

Despite the overcast day light lighting the room up I felt incredibly tired. I was very tempted just to go to sleep, even though my father, and technically my host, hadn't even arrived yet.

"Is that you?? OMG you were so adorable! So cute!" Alex exclaimed as he looked at a framed picture.

I walked over to him and looked down at it. It was a picture of me sitting in my mother's lap. I looked really happy but my mother was busy glaring at my father who was slightly off camera.

They were always doomed to fail.

"Your room's through here." I said after rolling my eyes at his silly expression and getting a key off of a hook. I could never reach those keys when I was younger, good thing too as I would have snuck into the guest room all the time, not pleasant for the guests.

I unlocked the side door and opened it. The guest room had changed since I saw it last; the furniture had been brought into this century. The main door at the other side of the room was open and a breeze blew past making the ancient walls creak.

"Got to love houses that make things go bump in the night."  I commented with a smile as Alex looked passed me into the room. He had a kind of unsure expression on his face and stayed silent just staring into it.

"What's wrong?" I asked and he gave me a crooked smile.

"Riley!!" A loud voice echoed through the house after a door slammed and I turned around.

"...That wasn't Matías..." Alex stated and I sighed.

"My father probably." I said before walking out of my room and down the stairs.

He was standing next to his husband at the bottom of it, wearing a fancy black suit.

His icy grey eyes stared at me with a smile as I walked down the stairs, before squishing me in a hug.

Um, what?

"You turned out nice, despite your mother's best efforts." He commented and I frowned at him.

"I'm actually surprised you came, I mean...You didn't seem like you were going to come...." He said with a frown and I gave him a fake smile.

"Came for the sake of nostalgia." I said and he looked up at Alex who was standing on the stairs.

"Ah, your chosen companion I see." He said as he looked him up and down.

Not exactly chosen, forced.

"You've already met Matías I'm guessing? Layla is still around here somewhere. Her mother isn't around anymore though I'm afraid." He explained like he was briefing his subordinates before stopping and smiling.

"You're both probably really jet legged. I don't mind if you sleep for a bit." He said then looked to Alex. "Oh, how rude of me. I'm Charlie, Riley's father, and your name is?" He introduced himself and Alex smiled politely.

"I'm Alex. One of Riley's new step-brothers. Nice to meet you." He greeted and I smiled.

"You can go see Ziathe and Noah later Riley, Linda passed away a few years ago now though." He said and I smiled sadly.

"Not a surprise really. She was a bit old..."

"You both do look a bit fatigued, I won't keep you any longer. I'll be in my office all day if you need me." He said before walking down the hall.

All day? Damnit!

I looked to Matías who was still standing there silently and he smiled.

"I noticed you didn't come with baggage, so I ordered some new clothes for you two. If you need anything bought for you ask one of the maids around, or I can get you something personally, I don't mind." He said and and Alex and I shared a look.

"Er, thanks! Sweet." Alex replied and I smirked.

"See you later." He said before walking down the same hall my father went.

"Damn..." Alex commented as he turned around and skipped up the stairs. I frowned before following him up.

"What's wrong?" I asked him when he was just standing awkwardly in the centre of the guest room and he gave me an awkward smile.

"Er..."

I walked back into my room when he didn't answer. I checked that the sheets were recently changed, and not covered in 5 years of dust, before taking off my shoes and walking back over to the guest room door, to see him still standing there awkwardly.

I shook my head at him with a smile. "You can come sleep in here if you want." I said and blushed slightly as I worried about him taking it the wrong way. He didn't though and beamed happily.

"Yes please!" He chirped before bounding into the room and I chuckled as I shut the door.

"OMG cute you drew on your ceiling!" He stated as he lay on my bed looking up and I smirked.

"Yeah I made one of the old butlers get me a large ladder, poor guy." I said as I settled down next to him, staring at the horrendous doodles on the old carved roof.

"You know when you're so tired you feel like you're in a dream like state?"  Alex asked after a few moments of silence and I raised a brow at him.

"Yes, why, do you feel like that now?"

"Nope. But I am pretty tired!" He exclaimed making me roll my eyes at him.

"I wonder what my brothers are up too..." He said after another few moments and I sighed.

"You did tell them where you were going right? They'd be worried sick if they didn't know you were okay." I said and he nodded.

"I sent a quick text before-" He yawned cutting himself off and I tried my best not to catch it and yawn too."-before we got on the plane."

"What did you say?"

"'Hey I found Riley he's escaping but don't worry I followed him like a ninja be back in about a week don't worry and see ya.' I sent that to Chance. I'm sure they're fine." He explained and I bit my lip.

"They totally know we went to England now....or at least that we went somewhere out of town..." I worried and he nodded.

"Of course! That's a good thing. Can't have them wasting their time walking around town. although Luca's probably still doing that anyway just to make sure!" He ranted and I sighed.

"I'm such an asshole, I really hope they don't get too stressed..." I said and he 'pfft'ed at me.

"Don't worry about it." He yawned again then turned over to face me.

I jumped when he moved his head towards me and pecked me on the cheek.

"Night!" He chirped before snuggling down on the pillow making me blush.

I sighed again after a few minutes as I worried about everything, but eventually found myself dozing off.
