Florence was one of the best minds we had when it came to Aid. He was a hacker. Ross found him tapping into government databases and releasing information to the public. He was scrawny and didn't cause much trouble, but he didn't do anything without a price. Even here.

We entered his section and were met with a confused gaze.

"I didn't do anything" he held his hands up. I walked behind his table and sat him down in the chair.

"We need you to find someone"

His worried expression dropped, and a scheming one took over.

"Under Ross's orders?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"Undermine" I lowered my gaze. He hesitated before looking over at the rest of them.

"You can't hurt me, it's against the rules"

"As long as I don't break anything I can," I correct, he frowned at me. Alec pulled me back as Joey took my place.

"I'll let you walk through the arsenal if you do this favor," Joey gave him a smile. Florence thought about it.

"I get to hold a gun and I get to put on with Rose," he added. Joey made a distasteful look at him but nodded, earning a smile from the hacker.

"Who am I finding?"

"Natasha" Joey spoke her name almost in a whisper. The hacker's hands froze up and gave us a glance.

"You want me to find the escaped serial killer?" He cried out. I rolled my eyes.

"Is that a problem?" Chase questioned.

"Uh yeah, the bitch is fucking crazy," Florence retorted.

"Watch your mouth," he warned.

We all glance at him. He held his usual angry expression but stepped back as we gave him looks.

"Only we can call her names," he shrugged us off.

I fought off the urge to question his sudden favor towards her and directed my attention back to the hacker. He looked stressed, but that didn't matter.

"Find her," I ordered, his eyes shot to me. He chose the smart route to shut up and do as we asked. I knew somewhat of her life. She told me she had a relationship with one family when she was free. I gave him the last name and hoped he could do the rest. I tapped my foot impatiently behind him. They all scattered around the room, waiting.

Waiting wasn't my strongest suit when it came to situations like this. It felt like he purposely made his fingers move slowly as he gave me aggravated glances.

"Do you mind not breathing down my neck man" he muttered annoyed. I glared down at the boy and began to say distasteful things to him when D pulled me aside.

"Maybe you should get some air. We don't have much to go off of here. Give the man time," he whispered.

"Time isn't on our side," I retorted, his brows raised as he grinned at me.

"What?"

"Nothing," he shrugged. "It's nice to know you're on her side"

"What? I'm not. I just don't want her to die," I glared. His grin widened.

Annoyed, I left out to go get some air as he purposed. The truth is, my nerves were going. I didn't understand why I cared so much now that there was a risk they could kill her for being stupid. I sighed, feeling the cool breeze of the night.

"She's a born killer. And yet you worry about her," a low voice spoke from the side of me. My gaze fell onto one of the men from earlier. He held his vest as he leaned against the building. He had a smug look on his face. His presence gave me some comfort about our time. They haven't left yet.

"Tell me, what is it about your girlfriend that gets you going? Are you one of those 'I can fix them' type of people?" He continued when I ignored his comment. I felt my annoyance returning.

"It's probably the fact that, if she was here, she'd knock that grin off your face for even approaching me with it," I don't know why that came out, but it did.

"Oh, I get it. So she sees you as property and you like it," he chuckled. My blood cooked.

"I'm no one's property," I corrected with a warning voice. He nodded, taking a pull of a cigarette he just lit.

"So she's yours"

"No. What do you want?" I glared.

"I just wanted to see how the search for her is going. I mean, that is what you're doing, right?" I eyed him.

"It's taking some time in there" he leaned looking into the building, and my gaze followed. Joey was on the phone, standing behind Florence. "My men should be there by now," he hummed. My eyes shot to him.

"What do you mean?" I stepped closer. He looked at it and winked before walking away. Tossing his cigarette into the grass.

I glared after him before hurrying into the room. She was on speaker, and as soon as I walked in, shots were fired from the phone. A panic lit in me and I snatched it, calling her name. She didn't answer for a second, but I heard shuffling.

"I told you I'd come back if you stand down," she angrily spat into the phone.

"Ross didn't- "I tried the explain but another shot and her painful groan cut me off. I called out her name again, but this time when she answered, her voice was different. She was angry, and a small part of me feared the way her tone could shift.

"You better pray they put one through my head next," then she hung up.

I held the phone before launching it at the wall. Florence flinched as I whipped to him.

"Where is she?" I demanded. He talked as he wrote down a pinpoint. Without any more words, we all left, leaving a protesting D behind.

I swear, if those bastards kill her before I get a chance to.
