Chelsy

I went home that night and took a long shower. While the water ran through the drain, I recalled what happened and my cheeks heated. I flashed the thoughts away and reminded myself that it was practice and he was just demonstrating something.

I couldn't deny how much I enjoyed the experience though but it was definitely the first and the last that would ever happen.

I needed to not forget that Brad was who I was actually interested in. Somehow I felt a bit guilty about what just happened with Nathan when I thought of Brad.

I came out and got dressed in a dress, contemplating whether I should tell Vicky about what happened.

I decided I wasn't ready yet, I needed time to muster up that courage.

I had just come off the phone with her, when my door knocked and Max opened it, poking his head in. "Dinner is ready, punk."

I smiled as I threw my phone aside. "Thanks. Oh hey, um, Nathan said you should go over to his house."

Even his name leaving my lips made me blush, I hoped Max hadn't noticed.

He nodded. "Okay thanks, where did you see him?"

"Oh. I was by his place...I took something over for Maria."

Max seemed deep in thought for a while then he raised a brow. "But Maria just got home, you two were there alone?"

"Yeah for a while...we were just talking."

Liar!

What else could I have done? Max would kill us both and feed our bodies to dogs.

He slowly nodded. "Ooh, okay cool."

I inwardly exhaled in relief as he turned away to walk off.

I recalled something and called out to him. "Max."

He looked at me.

"What do you think about Vee?"

He looked a bit confused as to why I asked that question. He turned fully to me and folded his arms. "She's okay, why?"

I shrugged. "No reason."

"Okay, you're being weird as shit. Come on down, we're ready to eat and I am starving."

I smiled. "Are you ever not hungry?"

"Chels could you pass the bottle of ketchup?!" Max waved to me from the patio.

"Coming!" I said, secretly scowling that I had to help him with his stupid barbecue. I grabbed what he asked for from the kitchen counter and made my way outside where he was flipping chicken on a grill.

Max decided to invite a few of his friends from school and they would chill a little and eat.

Without a doubt Nathan would be here and it would be the first time I'd see him since what happened in his room that evening.

I was not sure how to react but I decided to not think about it too much so that it caused an awkward atmosphere.

Thinking of the devil, our gate pushed open and Nathan waltzed in, closing it behind.

Damn, he looked way too sexy in that black T-shirt and ripped jeans.

His eyes met mine and I looked down quickly, pretending to be busy when in reality I wasn't doing anything productive.

Okay, actually seeing him in person was awkward as hell.

What do I say? Oh hey, thanks again for that time in your room.

Frigging hell.

Max turned to me just in time, saving the day by cursing under his breath. "Oh shit, paper plates!"

"I will go get it," I volunteered way too quickly. I hoped it wasn't obvious.

I would go fetch a thousand paper plates a thousand times just to get away from Nathan, temporarily.

"Okay thanks, Chels, you were complaining about me slaving you earlier and you didn't give a rat's ass about my stupid barbecue with my stupid friends but here you are, volunteering!" Max joked.

Nathan just chuckled a little.

I turned away and quickly made my way inside the kitchen.

I let out a breath and opened the cabinet and grabbed a pack of paper plates and spun around, colliding face to chest with a sturdy masculine form, I looked up to see Nathan.

I swallowed.

He smiled. "So nice of you to ignore my presence out there P."

I shifted from one foot onto the next. "Me? When did I?"

He nodded. "Okay. Maybe I am overthinking, right?"

You are not.

"Yeah, it's definitely that. Party is outside by the way."

"I came to grab a beer," he breathed sounding a bit exhausted as he pulled the fridge and bent to grab a can of liquor.

"You seem tired," I said clutching the plates close to my chest, praying maybe it would fade out the sound of my loudly thumping heart. "Up all night banging all the girls in the neighbourhood?"

He almost coughed out his entire beer and I scoffed a little.

Too surprised to be untruth.

He wiped his lips and smiled. "Partly offensive and partly sounds a bit like jealousy?"

I laughed. "Jealousy? Pft. And why would I be?"

He walked over to me and I felt my shoulders stiffen as he rested his can on the kitchen counter and brought his face close to mine. "Maybe because you just couldn't stop thinking about what I did to you in my room that day."

My cheeks flushed and I blinked excessively, pushing at his chest. "I definitely did not. Just so you know, that is NEVER going to happen again. I don't know why I agreed in the first place. I bet you did the same thing to a hundreds of different girls since that day."

Nathan let out a breath. "Actually no. I have been too busy on my van, plus my uncle and I are working on a bike. So I haven't gotten the time to think of anything or anyone else."

By anything or anyone, does he mean what happened that day was a distant memory as well and was not on his mind as often as it had been on mine? Wow. Reality hits.

What was I expecting? He had made plenty of other girls feel that way. I was not the first and I won't be the last. I was no one special.

"Okay whatever, I will be outside," was all I said as I walked past him and left him standing in the kitchen.
