I was on an escalator, coming back from my flight terminal, and going to pick up my checked bags, and I fell down the fucking escalator.

Let me tell you, ESCALATORS are SO MUCH MORE PAINFUL THAN STAIRS.

Because it KEEPS FUCKING MOVING AND ITS LIKE BEING GANG-BANGED BY THESE MOVING STAIRS AND IT HURTS

But it's okay, the only thing that was injured  was my pride.

***
2 weeks later

"Relax your arm, Cal. Stop being so stiff." Sebastian muttered, watching as I fired 6 rounds into a target.

We had been sneaking into the compound everyday for the past 2 weeks to practice training. I had been working at least 6 hours a day, practicing shooting, fighting, and self defense.

The rest of my time, I spent at home, utilizing the gym to get myself into shape. I actually used the gym, it was a big shocker.

"You're getting better." Gabriel said, setting out more targets.

"Thanks mom." I said softly, loading the magazine into the pistol.

2 weeks of constant training was paying off. Sinister had sent Gabriel (my mother) and Sebastian to keep me company, so I enlisted them to be my personal trainers.

I hadn't seen Sinister in 2 fucking weeks. And maybe that was a good thing. I needed to take my mind off of all distractions.

"You're still a skinny twig though." Gabriel muttered, taping up the last target.

I pulled a knife from my boot pocket, aiming it at him.

"Are you body shaming me, mom? I thought that parenting book helped you overcome that." I held the metal in my hand.

Gabriel grinned, holding his hands up, "sorry pumpkin, I keep forgetting."

"No worries, creator."

"What's the point of the knifes anyways?" He asked calmly, starting at the deadly metal I gripped in my hands.

I shrugged, "the knifes are useful. People are so busy staring at them, that they don't notice the gun I'm holding, until I've already shot them."

I held a gun in my other hand, and Sebastian barked out into laughter as Gabriel had just noticed the gun I was holding.

I forced a smile, sliding the knife back into my boot. Mom smirked, rubbing his hands through his sweat glistened caramel hair.

"You sneaky fuck. You're still a pussy. You're body kill count is like what? One? Lame." Mom snorted.

That's righttttt. I killed Brie. That nasty whore.

"I'm getting better." I pouted, folding my arms in front of my chest.

Sebastian chuckled, sitting on the wall of the compounds basement.

"You are" he grinned "as I recall, the first time you shot that gun, you put a bullet in a bag of weed, and the ceiling."

"That ceiling was a motherfucker and had it coming."

I grinned, pulling a blunt out of my pocket and sparking it up to calm my nerves.

It was a nasty habit I decided to take up. It calmed me down, kept me focused.

I breathed out a cloud of smoke.

Gabriel grinned, shaking his head as he motioned for me to pass the blunt, taking in a massive hit and breathing the smoke into my face.

"I still don't understand why exactly you've taken it upon yourself to learn how to kill people." Sebastian said, walking towards us, pulling a cigarette from his jacket pocket.

I shrugged, "if someone has a gun, and is trying to kill you. It'd be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun."

Sebastian blew a strand of bleach blonde hair from his eyes, "fair point."

Gabriel pouted, "We do not need guns to bring peace. We need love and compassion." He looked like he was about to throw up as he spoke those words.

Sebastian barked out a laugh and flicked him off, "Shut the fuck up, you dumb tramp."

We all burst out into laughter, as Gabriel finished off the blunt, throwing the ashes on the ground.

"Okay, Cal. Breaks over." Sebastian hopped off the wall, motioning for me to do the same.

I followed his lead, clutching the .9 mm pistol in my hands.

"Load and unload it." He ordered.

I clicked the magazine out of the chamber, and with one quick motion, loaded it back into the chamber of the pistol.

"Okay." He nodded, "now hit that target over there, three times. One to the left of the head, one to the right, and then one directly into the skull."

I followed his gaze to the human-like target, and focused.

I held my breath, as I fired off three rounds, hitting the target almost exactly where Sebastian had ordered.

Both Gabriel and Sebastian applauded me as I bowed with a small smile.

"You're getting good with that." Gabriel nodded, his speckled green eyes bright with humor.

I smiled proudly.

"You can keep that, and the knifes. Just don't tell Sinister that we made his innocent wife into a little killer." Sebastian said,

I smiled, turning the safety of the pistol on, and shoving it into my jacket pocket.

"Be serious Calla." Gabriel said, "why do you want to do this? You have so many bodyguards attached to you at all times, and everyone would give their life for you. You don't need to do this."

I pulled my hair into a bun, "that's exactly the point. No one should ever have to give their life for mine. The next time someone dies around me, it's gonna be with me holding the gun, and me pulling the trigger."

Both men grinned at my words, nodding in approval.

"You're a god damn Mafia Queen." Sebastian praised, his silvery eyes glittering in amazement.

"So." Gabriel started, pulling another blunt out of his pocket, "when was the last time you and Sinister talked?"

I shrugged, "at Afanas's funeral."

He hadn't been sleeping at our house, and I hadn't even heard from him.

I missed him, a lot. I still needed him. I wanted his warmth to fix the numbness that had flooded my heart. But something told me that he was more numb than I was.

"It's probably a good thing you haven't seen him, he was in Spain the other day, overseeing a drug shipment, and he got so pissed at one of the workers, that he shot him in the foot. It was funny, but slightly awful." Sebastian chuckled, taking the blunt out of Gabriel's hands to take a hit.

I frowned, "Spain? He was in Spain?"

They paused, looking guiltily at each other.

Sebastian nodded slowly, "I thought he at least told you that."

I shook my head fiercely, "No he fucking didn't.

The door to the room burst open, and a man walked in who I didn't recognize.

He was young looking, his tan face glistened with sweat, his eyes were wide with panic as he approached us.

"M-Mr Velkov needs this room." He shifted his weight uncomfortably on his legs.

Sebastian grinned at the scared boy.

"And who, pray tell, are you? Intern?" Sebastian's face was devious.

The mans eyes were wide, "I-I was just sworn in the other day, I'm just trying to make a good impression on Mr. Velkov."

Sebastian chuckled, "oh my god. That's so cute."

I smiled, watching as the young boys eyes flickered to me.

"Who the fuck are y-you?" He asked me, puffing out his thin little chest, trying to act all high and mighty with me.

I pulled a knife from my boot, twirling it in my hands as I smirked at him.

"I'm Mr. Velkov's wife." I grinned, watching the boys face morph from false-cockiness, into horror as he realized the way he just spoke to his bosses wife.

His eyes lowered, "I-I'm so sorry, ma'am. Please forgive me Mrs. Velkov,"

I hopped off the wall, walking sultrily towards him, still twirling the knife in my hands.

"Don't worry about it, honey. But could you do one thing for me?" I asked, pressing a smile to my face as I subtly pointed the knife at the boy.

His dark eyes went impossibly wide.

"Yes ma'am, anything,"

I smirked, "tell my fucking husband to come home tonight. And if he doesn't, I'll fucking kill him."

The boy nodded roughly, glancing quickly at Sebastian and Gabriel, before sprinting out of the room.

Sebastian chuckled, "You're a hormonal, emotional wreck, aren't you?"

I shrugged, "don't confuse emotional with pissed. I'll still slit someone's throat with tears streaming down my face."
