Riley's P.O.V

I woke up groaning in annoyance as the light came through the window, making my eyes burn...well not quite, you know me a little over dramatic at times. How much did I drink last night? I swear College and Denny are bad influences on me, before them I never drank...like ever, this is all their fault!!!! All of a sudden flashbacks from last night came flooding back...oh shit! I was dancing on the bar last night. What was I thinking?

You were thinking let lose, stop being a prude, let Denny see your wild side...make him want more

Oh hello old friend, it had been a while, how are you? I must still be drunk, why else would I be having a conversation with the little voice in my head? I thought I had banished her for good...clearly not Riley...clearly not...oh whoa! Now I am talking to myself...meh! I went to move and groaned in pain...how rough did we get last night? I swear I have friction burns...Eww! I heard a chuckle next to me, Denny properly giving himself mental high fives in his head for all his work last night.

And so he should be after what he done to you last night

The little person in my head is now smirking. Shut up! Damn annoying thing.

I ignored my little friend after that, rolling onto my side, keeping the covers over my mouth cause I knew how bad my breath would be, properly end up knocking Denny out with the smell...Yuck! Denny was watching me, his famous smug look on his face

"A little sore?" he said proudly

"Yes! I think you gave me friction burns." I giggled "I aint gonna be able to walk right for days." I added laughing

"Least that tells me I done it right." He winked

"Don't you always?" I said winking back at him

"Yes that is very true. I aint one for disappointing woman in bed." He said confidently

"Cocky much?" I said rolling my eyes at him

"Don't you know it baby. You love it." he chuckled

I flipped him off, climbing out of bed, stumbling a little, making Denny chuckle again. I decided to ignore him. I needed a shower badly.

"Fancy some company?" he called after me

"No Denny I do not want some company. She is out of bounds for the next few days." I called back laughing

"You suck Riley." He called back, I knew he would be pouting at me

"Oh don't you know it. Like you ever have any complaints." I called back

What is wrong with me this morning? I don't usually say that kind of stuff...actually that's a lie I do and again it's all Denny's fault. I heard him laugh loudly to himself before I climbed into the shower. I was hoping the shower would ease the hangover a bit. I sighed, relaxing against the wall as the warm water fell over me, my peace soon shattered when Denny came in. I popped my head out the shower door to find him sitting on top of the toilet

"Can I help you?" I said raising my brow

"I wanted to ask you something. My mom and little sister stay about an hour away from here. I have not seen them in a while, was wondering if you fancied a drive up for a few hours before we head back to campus?" he asked

He wants me to meet his family? He has barley even mentioned them to me.

"Yeah sure if you like." I smiled

"Cool. Hurry up now I need a shower before we hit the road. If you would have let me join you then we could have saved water and time but no." he laughed

"Go away." I said sticking my tongue out at him

For once in his life he actually listened. I finished up heading out, Denny jumping in a quick shower before we got on our way. I was nervous about meeting his mom and little sister and it doesn't help I know nothing about them. I decided there was one way to change that...ask him duh!

"You gonna tell me anything about them before I meet them. Names would be nice." I laughed

"Oh yes that would help. My mom is called Jean...my little sister is April, she is 14." He said

"What about your dad? I am just asking cause you never speak about your family. I don't wanna go in there knowing nothing." I said

With the mention of his father his fists tightened on the steering wheel. Oh shit! I think that may be a touchy subject.

"He left years ago. He was an asshole." he said

"OK. Sorry." I said

"It's fine. It was a long time ago. I was 12 when he left...April was only two. It was hard for my mom at first but she pushed through it...she is a strong woman that way." He smiled talking about his mom

"Are you close with them?" I asked

"Yes very. My mom always said it was the three of us against the world and it was the truth." He replied

I continued to ask a few questions, not pushing it though. Denny was happy to answer though, gushing about them both. I am surprised he treats girls the way he does if he has such a close relationship with his mom and sister. Not my place to judge though, no one is perfect...we all have ghosts and demons I guess. Maybe there is another reason he is that way but I decided it would be best not to ask about that. If he wanted to tell me he would.

We soon pulled up outside the house. It was a nice neighbourhood, seemed safe and quite which was good. Denny jumped out the car before getting my door for me, helping me out the car. I smiled at him which he returned. I was really nervous now which he sensed. He reached for hips, pulling me into him , kissing me softly and quickly

"Don't be nervous Riley. They are good people with good hearts that accept everyone. You will be fine." He smiled before he pulled away

He led us to the front door, walking in

"Where are my two favourite girls?" Denny called out

Soon enough they came rushing through, his little sister rushing over to him, hugging him

"Denny!" she squealed excited "I missed you." She added

"Hey champ I missed you too." He gushed

"Denny! What are you doing here? Come here." His mom gushed, pulling him into her for a hug "I have missed you son, it's been too long." She added

I stood in the hallway being my awkward self. Not saying a word.

"Oh and who is this pretty girl?" his mom gushed smiling at me

"Is she your girlfriend Denny?" his little sister teased

"Not quite. This is Riley, my good...um friend from college." He said nervously rubbing the back of his neck

I giggled to myself a little at his respond. Though he couldn't exactly turn around and say this is Riley my fuck buddy now could he?

"Riley this is my mother Jean...my little sister April." He said introducing us

"Hey. It is nice to meet you both." I said shyly, giving them a small wave

"You too sweetie." His mom said pulling me in for a hug which took my back a little

You see my "parents" aint exactly the hugging, affectionate type. After that his little sister shook my hand. I smiled at them both, they seemed really sweet both of them. I could feel Denny looking at me, I looked up at him and he was smiling at me, making me do the same.

"Please come on in." his mother said

We headed into the living room, everyone taking a seat. I looked around, smiling as I seen all the family photos everywhere, something else you will not find in my parents' house.

"How long are you here for?" Jean asked

"Just a few hours, will need to head back to campus later." Denny said

"Oh that is a shame." His mom said sadly

"I know mom I am sorry but I will be back in a couple of weeks for winter break." He smiled

"I know...I know, we just miss you. Well we better make the most of you both being here. I will get us some snack and drink then we can head out back to enjoy the sun and we can get to know Riley." Jean smile brightly

"Sounds good." Denny smiled and I nodded my head in agreement

I wasn't so nervous now, relaxed actually. I was looking forward to getting to know them, getting to possibly find more out about Denny.
