she was an idiot. a bonafide, glorious, ineffable idiot.

but this idiot just managed to get a hot guy's number. a hot guy that she's starting to care about.

of course, she knows it isn't love. it's not even a simple crush yet, for god's sake.

but for someone like her who doesn't really let people in, it's a giant step.

and she was about to take another one.

good thing it's a wednesday night so she has time to recover the next day.

Sighing happily, she clutched her phone to her chest.

mission: manage to have a decent conversation with a guy that i may or may not like over texts is a success!

glancing at the small charm hanging from her phone, she couldn't help but squeal into her pillow on how obliviously cute the red-and-white haired boy was.

her mind flooded with flashbacks of the previous hours, and she fell asleep to the happy reminiscence.

"hey, shō-tan, do you wanna go out with me?"

he furrowed his eyebrows at her. "like, on the streets?"

she beamed at him with a toothy grin.

"yeah, i heard that there was a weekly night fair tomorrow held a couple of streets down, and i've been trying to find the time to go! with you there, i won't have to pay for anything, you'll be able to waste your dad's money, and we'll both have some fun."

clasping her hands behind her back, she turned to face the window that showed the nearly desolate but well-lit street.

"it would be nice to hang out somewhere else instead of just akatori."

"hey shō-tan!"

she waved from the front of his house, mounted on the motorized bike she arrived on ages ago when she went to deliver the food. perfectly on schedule, right down to the minute, the purple twilight painting the sky and the stars twinkling above them.

he walked over with a stoic expression, taking the helmet from her hands.

"aren't you supposed to have a li-woah!"

he was taken off guard when she suddenly propping up the stand and pushing them down the hill.

wrapping his arms around her waist, he could barely hear his sister calling out for him to be careful and to have fun.

his ears strained to hear it because the sounds of the wind brushing past his ears and her whoops of excitement filled his ears.

strolling beside each other, they were exploring the different stalls that were available, all of them with large crowds surrounding their purchasable goods.

all of a sudden, the [h/c] girl stopped, spotting something from a small stall tucked away to the side.

"let's go check that out!" she tugged on her companion's hand and gestured towards the small shop with her taiyaki. "it looks cool!"

less than a minute later, they found themselves perusing the shelves lined with various lucky charms, phone charms, and key chains, a traditional theme present in all the products.

"shō-tan, look!" she pulled up a small phone charm. "this one looks a bit like you!"

it was a simple design really, a white lucky cat with the character of good fortune printed on its gold belly. what made her pick up that particular one was the red and white theme on it, and it even got his stern expression right!

over its left eye was a peculiar defect, a red splotch of paint in the shape of a heart. remind you of anyone?

picking up the tag, she read it out loud, eyes wide. "special love charm: will help you find your soulmate"

she was about to go up to the store tender when she caught a glimpse of the price tag, and carefully put it back.

"on second thought, let's look for something else."

todoroki noticed the sad look flash in her eyes when she put it back, and he silently grabbed it, sneakily paying for the charm and slipping it into her bag when they both got back out on the street.

it blended in with all the other odd knickknacks that she bought (using his dad's money of course) for them both.

he smiled to himself, making the women in the immediate surroundings swoon and blush. 'i hope she enjoys the charm.'

too bad the beautiful girl he was with was standing in front of him, her attention on the busy and bright stalls.
