it was yet again a late night on a tuesday, and she was plagued by information that she had received recently. she could only hope that her rich buddy would pop in soon.

speak of the devil and he shall appear.

the door rang open, the tiny wind chimes tinkling in the small gust. todoroki was dressed casually in sweatpants and a blue hoodie, like he just came back from a late-night jog.

the sweatpants both hung loosely, yet still made out his defined shape, and his blue hoodie was zipped halfway down, exposing the ridges in his white tank top.

at this point, her mouth was salivating and it took all of her willpower not to drool.

i don't need food to live. this view is all the snacc i need.

"hey there buddy." she gave him a salute, leaning her elbows against the counter. "how's it going?"

he blinked, noticing the rat's nest that her [h/c] hair was apparently styled in.

"what happened to your hair?"

she rolled her eyes, patting down the fluffy, frizzy mess. "wow, way to make a girl feel good about herself."

"oh," the oblivious boy realized his mistake. "sorry about that."

her being her just sighed, knowing how socially unaware her friend was as a human being in general.

"it's alright, i'm just a bit stressed from the project, and i've been hearing rumors circling around town, it's a bit worrying."

he furrowed his eyebrows, perplexed. it wasn't like the girl to show her stress even in the worst moments.

"are you ok? is there anything i can do to help?"

she just waved him off, asking what he wanted to order.

quickly ordering 15 bowls of cold soba, he went to his usual spot by the bar, analyzing the wall of knickknacks of varying weirdness.

his eyes just about landed on a small troll doll with black and faded purple wispy hair when a [hand size] hand slid on the table along with a tray stacked with 5 bowls.

ever since he had started eating at the noodle shop, she had requested for a shipment of larger trays just so that she didn't need to make too many trips from the kitchen and back.

the things i do for this guy.

she grinned, her eyes sparkling against the soft glow of the fairy lights strung around the establishment. no doubt, a new addition courtesy of the girl standing right beside him.

somehow, he could just take one look, and immediately see her style in it.

taking her regular spot beside him, she plucked a pair of chopsticks from the container and broke them apart. they both said their prayers before silently digging into the food.

she had a bowl of katsudon, the pork cutlet crispy and tender, the vegetables and egg a perfect complement to the dish.

her mouth spewed stories about customer after customer, small inputs every now and then from the heterochromatic male. from time to time, she would ask him a question about how school was doing, probing for any hot topics.

it was exciting to hear about his homeroom teacher.

who would have thought that the pro-hero she served and helped some time ago would also be his teacher? he did seem like the person to threaten expulsion on the first day, so she wasn't surprised when he told her about that.

it was interesting to hear about all might though. she even learned that earlier that very day, they had done battle simulations in a mock city inside the u.a. campus.

all she could think of was the amount of money they needed to be able to even build that, not to mention the repairs they would have needed to do whenever it would get wrecked from the hero training.

by the time he had finished his meal, she had already cleaned up their area and had brought all the dishes to the sink.

it was time for them to part for the night, to go their separate ways again.

strangely, they didn't really want to leave the other alone. she knew that she was one of the only people, if not the only one who he could count as a friend.

and he was turning into someone special to her, someone that she could trust.

her stomach was still flipping from the intel she had received a week ago at most.

she knew she couldn't directly interfere, but was it bad that she didn't want her friend getting hurt?

is it bad that she wanted to spend more time with him, even if there is a chance that those small chances could vanish?

so, she couldn't help herself when these words tumbled out of her mouth.

"hey, shō-tan, you wanna go out with me?"
