"To all the girls with their heads in the clouds"

Chapter One
Page Seven

Three days have passed since I bought Doonswater Estate, three days full of hard work and sleepless nights.

After spending the days making many calls too businesses around the area to come and sort out the electrics, plumbing, flooring etc they were finally here and I couldn't be happier!

I had made sure to be up at six this morning opening the gates for their arrival. I seem to have a thing for accidentally meeting the prisoners from up the hill at morning and nights. They never bother me much.

The main floor of the house was finally completely bare of the mess and I had started peeling the rotten paint off the walls.

The constant full on work was tiring and the only comfort I could seem to find was at the Grasshopper Cafe.
By eight o'clock Ma would have a dinner made for me in the kitchen and Mason would be tidying away the tables and cleaning the dishes.

That's what was happening right now, except Mason was moaning to Ma about the local hotel, Perringtons, getting closed.

Apparently once the Priosoners were freed they would do work and stay at Perringtons for at least three months, until they go out and carry on with their lives.

It's not so surprising the place shut, the old lady died a few months ago and her good for nothing granddaughter had been "running" it from down south.
This whole town need something to bring in money just what, no one seems to have an idea.
Something will need to happen soon were all running low on income.

After an hour of sitting at the Grasshopper I finally decide to head home.
Kissing Ma on the cheek I gather my stuff up before going over to Mason who's leaning at the front door.

We head out to my car and drive back to my house.
I drop him off at the front of my gates so he can had on up the hill and I can get settled for the night.
