Kade P.O.V

The ceremony was beautiful. And yes, I am saying beautiful. I am pretty sure I had at least one tear-drop in my eye. Or there was someone cutting onions all up in here.

My best friend just got hitched. He is now a husband. That thought was just fucking crazy to me. And Sophie was now a wife. Those titles suited them though, they were the most loving couple I knew. I guess it was true love for them all those years ago, and that was that.

We travelled to a couple of locations, such as one of the fancy historic Rhode Island homes to take wedding photos and videos, and we also took some on the beach. At one point, we even got to play around with these colourful smoke candles and run around an open grassy field with it. It was awesome. Isobel and I got a ton of coupley shots since we were best man and maid of honour. I may have even stretched the "coupliness" a little further than normal, playfully embracing her. The photographers ate it up though.

The rest of the afternoon was spent much the same. Who knew getting wedding photos and videos would take like almost three hours? It was now almost 6pm and we had stopped by the hotel so everyone could have a quick breather and freshen themselves up before heading to the venue for the reception. Time had flown by so quickly today, and now it was time for the fun part.

6:30pm. We had arrived at the venue, grabbed a few drinks and appetisers before readying ourselves to make an entrance at 7pm, with entrees starting at 7:15pm. Out of interest, I read the plan Sophie and Isobel made so I knew when speeches were- 7:45pm, just before dinner at around 8:00pm, then a few more rounds of speeches at 8:45pm. After that? Tons of games and dessert!

The M.C- a random guy from the boathouse made his introductions and laid down some house rules. I was lined up next to Isobel, ready to enter from the back and make our way to the stage.

"Please give a warm welcome to your first pair, bridesmaid Claudia Richardson and groomsman Remi Hyatt!"

Claudia and Remi stepped out, arm in arm, cheering as they approached the centre stage. A round of applause echoed throughout the guests to greet them.

"Now, let's all give an applause to bridesmaid Jenny Loren and groomsman Jacob Kilmour!"

Laughter erupted as Jenny and Jacob danced their way forward in a very unique manner. I took out my phone and quickly snapchatted the hilarious scene of Jacob attempting to krump and Jenny twerking as they made their way to the stage.

"Well I guess we know who'll be tearing up the dance floor this evening," the M.C. joked. "Okay, last but not least, your third bridesmaid and groomsman pair for the evening- Casey Herman and Tobias McIntyre!"

Tobias escorted Casey to the stage, as they both waved and smiled. He stepped side, spreading his arms out wide and gestured at her playfully whilst she took a little bow.

My body buzzed with excitement as Bels and I were next. I'm gonna have fun with this.

"Alright alright! Let's give a special welcome to your maid of honour and best man- Isobel Hernandez and Kade Whitley!"

With her arm in mine, we cheered loudly as we stepped forward to the stage. I grabbed her hand and gave her a little twirl before bringing her down into a dip. The beautiful sounds of her giggles and a couple of wolf whistles could be heard amidst the applause.

"Whew, ladies, or men- if you need a dance partner later on- the best man has got some moves!" He winked, causing the guests to chuckle. "And now, for what you have all been waiting for... let's give a HUGE welcome to your newly-weds, husband and wife- OLIVER AND SOPHIE LOWE!!"

"Wooo!" I cheered, clapping as they happily came forward, pumping their fists in their air and did a little dance. Oliver too, gave her a twirl before he kneeled down and pressed a kiss on her hand, much to everyone's delight.

We then took a seat at the wedding party table as some family introductions were made and the entrees were served.

"So are you going to dance with me later?" Bel smirked, taking a sip from her glass of champagne. I watched as her beautiful lips gently touched the rim of the glass carefully.

"I thought you'd never ask," I smirked back.

She chuckled, shrugging casually. "Well I mean, I think you might have a line up going on, so I guess I better get a spot."

"Well I'd pick you up first," I flirted without reservation, causing her to giggle- the delightful sound filling my ears.

"That mouth of yours get you into trouble often?"

"Yeah. But it gets me out of it," I winked. "If you know what I mean."

"Kade!" She gasped, whacking me on the arm lightly. "You are too much."

"I'm just kidding," I chortled, leaning back in my chair relaxedly. "Sometimes."

She shook her head, giving me a small lopsided smile as she finished off her food. People were buzzing about, taking in the gorgeously done up venue.

"Is! Is!" Casey called, hurrying over towards us.

Bels snapped her head around to the younger Herman curiously. "Hey! What's up?"

"One of Sophie's pearl buttons got caught and came off!" She exclaimed.

Immediately, Bels grabbed her "emergency kit" she dubbed it, a little purse-looking thing she had been keeping nearby all day. She reached underneath her chair and plucked it out with an excited look on her face. The same one she got whenever it had to be used today- whenever someone found them self in need of breath mints, touching up, a little stitching or spritz of deodorant or hairspray.

"Well off you go then," I chuckled, giving her an expectant look.

She winked before sliding out of the chair and across the floor towards where Oliver and Sophie sat near the stage.

I watched on with pure adoration at this outrageously spectacular woman.

Isobel P.O.V.

The night was going on pretty much perfectly, right on schedule essentially- bar a few tiny mishaps. Strung up fairy lights decorated the ceiling, with the flower arch structure placed against a plain wall for photos and a photobooth placed in another corner opposite it. The signs, boards, various decor and party favours were all there, arranged just as it was supposed to be. The beautiful wedding cake- a three tier, ivory and gold decorated piece with peach coloured flowers trailing down it, sat on a hanging vine platform in the corner by the stage in all it's glory. Circular tables clothed in white and gold, with the floral arrangements on top, dotted the surroundings of the wooden dance floor and stage. My slideshow of Sophie and Oliver played in a corner on the PowerPoint screen as well. It was absolutely gorgeous- a beautiful mix of rustic elegance with a slightly modern, classy touch.

After a couple of toasts, speeches and meal courses, the M.C. called me to make mine. I grabbed the microphone as I stood on the stage, looking down upon the many set of eyes on me. Here we go, fingers-crossed!

"Hi I'm Isobel, but you can also call me Is," I smiled at the audience before letting my gaze fall specifically on Kade. His lips lifted at the corner in amusement as he rolled his eyes. "I have been so lucky to be chosen as Sophie's maid of honour. She hasn't been a bridezilla by the way, if anyone wants to know," I teased, earning a few chuckles.

"Anyway, I want to tell you all about a love story. Between Sophie, and... me." I clicked open our very first picture as tiny ten-year old girls, causing the audience to aww and giggle. "Sorry, Oliver we'll get to you soon," I winked. He raised his palms up and smiled amusedly as if to say no harm.

"We met out in the sandbox, literally, a sandbox, first day of middle school. She was bright and friendly with the most beautiful head of fiery locks. A boy had been teasing her about the thing that I found to be so fascinating on her. I promptly picked up a bucketful of sand, and threw it over his head, earning me a one-way ticket to lunchtime detentions for a week, and no desserts for a month. It was horrible." I shook my head, horrified.

The audience burst into laughter.

"But I guess Sophie was worth it." I chuckled, rolling my eyes. "We became instant best friends ever since and had each other's backs from that day forward. Sophie has always been there for me throughout all the hard, rough, trying and stressful times throughout my life. She's truly a special friend, and a special person with a heart of gold." I said sincerely. Sophie smiled as tears pooled in her eyes. "I'm so grateful that I have your friendship." I smiled back as she said thankyou.

"As you all know, Sophie and Oliver have been together since high school, for seven years."

A round of applause erupted throughout the room.

"Yup," I nodded. "Impressive. And that's about the same amount of time as I've been a professional third wheel." I clicked open a slide show full of photos of our trio, as the guests had a good laugh and applauded.

"Thankyou, thankyou," I bent down in a mock curtsy.

There was one where I stood in between them in their cheerleading and football uniforms, a couple from proms and homecomings, a few selfies, some at Milky Mike's diner, at their graduation, and multiple different outings we had together.

A round of raucous laughter erupted at the collage of images. There were a lot of Sophie and Oliver, alongside my head popping in on the side, or others where somehow I've managed to be captured in the background.

"Yup," I nodded with a chuckle. "All jokes aside though, I never felt threatened when Oliver suddenly began appearing around Sophie. They had always made me feel welcome and included, uh, as you can see." I paused, as a couple of chuckles could be heard. "So thankyou, for that. To this day, you both continue to care for me and welcome me into your home, no questions asked, whenever I come to visit. That means a lot to me." I said on a more serious note. Sophie awed, and blew a kiss over to me.

"Oliver and I also soon became fast friends. These two were simply a power couple. He perfectly compliments Sophie in every way with his friendly persona and giving heart. It was a match made in heaven. Her star shines just for you, as yours brightens in her presence. There was no better match made in the heavens. And like stars, your love will be everlasting through eons of space and time. Oliver, I'm so happy you found your way to Soph, you make her so incredibly happy. I can't imagine a better man for her." I continued. He gave me a grateful nod of acknowledgement and a warm smile.

"I look forward to creating more memories with the both of you and sharing in your joy as you journey through life together. There are no two other people in this world that are deserving of such a wonderful love. Your love is patient, kind, unconditional and it's truly one in a billion. Treasure it forever, and treasure each other. I love you both so much!" Sophie stood up, followed by Oliver to come over to hug me.

"Love you Is!" She cried.

"Cheers!" I managed to say into the mic before hugging my two best friends.

After I settled down and took a seat, the M.C announced the next speaker to make a toast. Kade sauntered over towards the stage in his dashing tuxedo and charming smile.

"Hi I'm Kade for those of you who don't know, and I'm the best man," he introduced himself with a handsome smile.

"So first off, I'd like to say thank you to you, Soph, for saying yes and choosing to love, live and look at this big ol' lug for the rest of your life," Kade teased with a chuckle as we all laughed. "You finally locked her down, man! There's no escaping now!"

A fit of chortles ensued.

"And secondly, I would like to claim some credit for this union we're all gathered here for today," he said with a devilish smirk. "You see, Ollie my man here, was terrified to go up to Sophie, junior year as a young, pimply unsure teen," he teased winking at Oliver. Oliver had a big amused smile on his face, leaning back in his chair next to Sophie.

"Never fear, folks. I grabbed him by the shoulders and eyed him straight in the face: "Dude, Do you like this girl?" I asked, glancing over to where Sophie had been standing next to her pretty, brunette best friend by the lockers." Kade said with a dramatic flair as he looked dead straight at me. I bit my lip as heat flooded my cheeks. "You see, Oliver had been walking around for the past two weeks prior, looking like a lost puppy, staring off into space, and staring off at one, specific red-headed cheerleader during our football games," he continued with a chuckle. "I think I could throw a ball at him to the head and he wouldn't have noticed."

Laughter echoed across the function room.

"But anyhow, silly Oliver was all like "Nah..." brushing it off with a shrug of his shoulders, acting so cool. I just knew he liked her though. So, then I shrugged back and said: "Fine, if you won't ask her out, then maybe I will." I started walking over towards Sophie. Oliver immediately straightened up frantically and shouted "NO," as he pulled me backwards abruptly by the collar," he said, laughing at the memory. Oliver had gone to biting the back of his knuckles and shaking his head amusedly at the story. Sophie turned to her husband, giggling.

"Oliver finally grew some *cough* foot- " Kade covered his mouth jokingly, "-balls. And finally made his way over to Sophie."

Numerous guests guffawed loudly.

"I wasn't serious about doing it, but it certainly got the job done now, didn't it Ollie?" Kade teased with a chuckle. Oliver reluctantly nodded with a laugh, as he and Sophie looked at each other with big grins.

"The rest is history so they say, and they lived happily ever after! We're all witnessing it." Kade grinned, spreading his arms out in a wide gesture, as a round of applause erupted from the guests.

"Thankyou, thankyou," Kade took a faux bow. "But seriously though, ever since then, he's been whipped."

Another chorus of laughter sounded.

"I'm just kidding. Or am I?" He said, wiggling his eyebrows mischievously, causing the guests to giggle at his antics. I snorted, smiling amusedly at him. "Okay I'm done." He laughed. "See, Oliver is the kindest, humblest guy you will ever meet. He will always be there to give you a helping hand wherever and whenever he can. He was my first friend when I came to Newport, and he's been my best friend for over 10 years. He cares very deeply for the people around him, from his friends and family to Sophie, now his wife. And I know that he will continue to be a stand-up man for you, forever, Soph."

"Thankyou," Sophie mouthed silently to Kade as her eyes became watery at the sweet turn at the end. Oliver held onto her hand as he placed a tender kiss on her forehead.

I wanted to cry at the sight, my heart was so full with happiness.

"And Soph, you are without a doubt his perfect match. I have the utmost faith in your relationship, you bring out the best in each other," he said softly, causing all of us to aw at the sweet words. "Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Lowe!" Kade finished, raising his glass as we all raised ours in cheers.

"Woooooo!"
