Isobel P.O.V.

I smiled as I rose from my sleep this morning, relaxing in a pair of sturdy arms and a strong, bare chest.

"Good morning," Kade nuzzled into me, tightening his hold. "You're still here..." he murmured with a soft, dreamy smile on his face.

"Well I do live here." I chuckled lightly, tracing my finger over the black ink on his arm with intrigue. I'll have to ask him about it one day...

"That wouldn't stop you." He narrowed his eyes at me.

I narrowed mine back. "Well good to see you still here too."

His expression softened, as he leaned over to press a kiss on my temple. "I'm not going to do that to you ever again. I'm so sorry I treated you that way. I want you Isobel. For real. I want us."

I inhaled a deep breath, closing my eyes for a second. I grasped the side of his face in my hand, planting a kiss on his cheek tenderly. "I forgive you Kade. It was so long ago, I'm glad we had a chance to talk but I would like to fully move past it now, for good. And I'm really sorry too- in hindsight, what I did back to you was stupid."

"I would really like that. Thankyou." He whispered, leaning his forehead down on mine. "And I forgive you too."

"So what now?" I asked quietly, placing my hand under my cheek as I peered up at him.

He gazed at me whilst tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "I'd like to stay here in New York with you for a little while? If you don't mind... I have some online work to do, and I'd like to be here with you." Kade asked me shyly.

I smiled, instantly lighting up as I hugged him to me. "Please stay."

"I will." He promised, pressing me close to his beating heart. "We're going to make it work okay?"

I nodded, resting my head against his warmth. "We'll figure it out."

"Look at us. Already much better at communicating." He chuckled. My lips tugged up at the corner. About time. We lay there in silence, happily drowning in each other's arms and the perfect feeling encompassing our embrace.

Suddenly, I shot up. Crap, I still have to work! I reached over to the beside table and checked the time.

"You okay?" He asked me concernedly.

I breathed a sigh of relief as I leaned back against the headboard. I hadn't overslept. "Yeah," I chuckled, "I have to go to work! I almost forgot. It's not the weekend just yet."

"Oh. Thought you were doing a runner," he chuckled.

I gave him a flat, pointed stare in return.

"Too soon to make jokes about it?" He bit his lip, snickering.

I rolled my eyes, ignoring him whilst I slipped off the bed. And now we're back to the Kade and Isobel show. I pulled his dress shirt over my body, before buttoning it up messily.

Immediately he froze, his pupils dilating at the sight of me. He didn't hold anything back as he checked me out from head to toe, his eyes lingering on the hemline.

"Oh come on," I teased, noticing his lascivious stare. "It's covering all my bits."

He rolled his eyes. "You know you look sexy as hell in my clothes." He crawled off the bed, coming up to stand next to me, his morning wood standing up proud and tall. I fought the urge to look and be turned on. "It makes you look too damn edible. I actually might have to take it off you..."

I giggled, running away. "But then I'd be naked!"

"I don't mind!" he called, chortling as his footfalls grew heavier, nearing me in the kitchen. He caught me from behind, locking onto my body.

"Nooo," I tried to push him away. "Ew get away from me!"

"Ew?!" He scoffed. "You're ew."

I spun around, snickering as I bit back full-blown laughter. "That was a fucking terrible comeback."

He laughed along with me. "Yeah. Fuck. You got me there. It's not my fault my brain is currently high off endorphins and shit. All I can do is make stupid googly eyes at you and smile like an idiot."

My lips curved into a smile, as I pecked him on his cheek. "It's cute."

"Thanks, I do think I am adorable."

I snorted, pushing him away. "Get your naked ass out of my kitchen. You're distracting and I'm going to be late for work!"

"Hey baby, it's a free view. I could be charging for this y'know?" He retorted, gesturing down towards his beautiful, sculpted body.

"What the hell Whitley," I exclaimed, my cheeks flushing red. Quickly, I turned back around.

This man.

The sound of his boisterous chortles echoed through my apartment as he sauntered away.

I made us some quick breakfast, before hopping in the shower and changed into my work clothes. Grabbing my handbag and putting on my shoes, I turned towards the figure lounging on my couch. At least he had some clothes on now.

"Make yourself at home, but don't eat all my damn food and here's a key if you wanna go anywhere." I said sternly, handing him the small silver piece of metal. "I'll probably be home around 5:30!"

"Wait!" He called, standing up quickly just before I slid out the door. "Where's my goodbye kiss?" He pouted, giving me his best puppy dog eyes.

Biting my lip, I stood on my tippy toes to plant my lips on his perfect pout. Immediately his hand caressed my face, as his lips moved against mine. I sighed, before pulling back. Every moment I stayed longer in his proximity made me lose all motivation to head outside to go to work.

"Goodbye Kade." I said softly.

"Goodbye Isobel." He smiled back, pure happiness shining in his eyes.

With a lightness surrounding me and my heart soaring in my chest, I basically skipped out of my apartment building and made my way to work.

"Who did you sleep with last night?" Drew eyed me suspiciously. "You're practically glowing."

I bit my lip before giggling, unable to help the reaction from pouring out of me. "Kade."

His jaw dropped before gasping, "Stop, no way."

I nodded, as we strolled into my little office. "Way. He came by yesterday night and took me by complete surprise."

"Wow!" Drew squealed excitedly. "That's so romantic. Like he sailed across the oceans for you- or well in these times actually, flew some miles."

I chuckled, blushing as I took a seat. "He said he wanted to stay so, he's staying with me at the moment."

"Gosh, I'm so happy for you. Honey, lock him down. I see that you've been kinda going about the last couple of weeks trying to be happy... but now, this morning, you are literally throwing sunshine and rainbows like confetti everywhere you step."

"Thankyou." I grinned at his way of phrasing it. "Well, yes. We are trying. It's just new for us to have admitted to some of our feelings."

"Aw! I think you're off to a good start." He praised with a happy smile. "Anyways, now I have to meet your delicious man candy." He winked playfully.

I chuckled. "Why of course. He needs to be Drew-approved."

"You know it girl."

Making my way home, I began to calculate the time difference between Sophie and I so I could schedule to call her. I was so excited to tell her about Kade and I. From the pictures I saw, she was having an incredible time with Oliver and should be home quite soon. It's like everybody was getting their happiness, and maybe I was finally finding mine too. I couldn't wait to catchup with my best friend and tell her the news.

I unlocked my door to find the apartment completely empty and pitch black.

"Kade?" I called hesitantly into the darkness. The silence was almost deafening. I expected to see him lounging around as usual, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. My heart dropped as I turned on the lights, making my way into my bedroom. The shower wasn't running and there was no one in the spare room.

He left.

After everything that had just gone down?

Immediately I freaked out, knots twisting in my stomach viciously, my heart plummeting in my chest. I whipped out my phone to check if he'd left me anything- maybe he had to go out to run an errand? I fought back the tears threatening to spill down my cheek.

No no no no.

He wouldn't have left. I decided to make my way to the kitchen for some alcohol to calm me down. From the corner of my eye, I noticed two white boxes that hadn't been sitting there before when I'd left in the morning. Doing a double-take, I stopped in my tracks, slowly approaching my dining table.

On top of the boxes, was a small note. This better not be a fucking goodbye note with some ridiculous compensatory gift underneath it.

I unfolded it with anxiousness racing in my veins. Inside, fell out exactly $65 in cash. What the fuck is this? One-night's worth of rent money? Scrunching up my face, I put the money aside to read the note.

Princess Bel,

You make me high.
Get dressed and come find your beast (aka your prince/aka me/aka Kade Whitley, not some other dude.)
I'll be waiting for you, looking over the kingdom.

p.s enjoy xx

My tense body sagged in relief as I clutched the note to my pounding chest. Asshole. Sweet asshole, that gave me a fright.

I picked up the first box to reveal a ton of perfect pink macaroons, all lined up in a row. Grinning, I picked one up to let the light strawberry taste burst in my mouth with one bite. Impatience and curiosity taking over, I quickly tore open the second box to find chocolate covered strawberries lying decadently upon a layer of greaseproof paper. My eyes lit up as I picked one up and immediately bit into it, moaning in delight. All at once my prior fears and anxiety disappeared.

I opened up the note again, skimming over the words more thoughtfully, now in a better state to comprehend it. "You make me high..." what did he mean? I racked my brain to decipher the clues. Earlier he said I made him high off hormones, I make him happy? I chuckled, rolling my eyes as I read the text in brackets. "I'll be waiting for you, looking over the kingdom." He will be looking... at a view perhaps? Watching something? Over the kingdom? Over the city? High... perhaps somewhere tall? And what's with the money? I lit up as I realised that there's one place that could perfectly fit what he was saying.

I had a quick shower and applied some light makeup before popping on a hair of high waisted jeans, ankle boots and tight long sleeve cropped top. I ruffled up my hair before grabbing a little bag and head out excitedly with the note in my pocket. "You make me high." He must be somewhere up high, up on a tall building, gazing down at the view. I hailed a cab before directing the driver to head to my guess at his destination. Excited and flattered, my body buzzed to see what the hell he was getting up to. It was certainly unexpected, but that's who he was.

Staring up at the giant skyscraper, I crossed my fingers and bought the ticket I assumed he meant for me with the $65. I got to skip the queue and head up the elevator immediately to the 86th floor. I stepped out onto the observation deck, noticing the sky begin to darken as the sun began its descent. My eyes darted around for the familiar head of dirty blonde hair and the stature of a tall, broad man.

Just as I spotted him, he turned around, a heart-stopping grin spreading across his face as he noticed me. With my eyes fixed on him, I began weaving my way through the crowd and into his arms. I jumped and he caught me, lifting me up as I wrapped my legs around his torso. I didn't care about anything and anyone in this moment besides him. We stopped and stared at each for a moment before he pulled me into a sweet kiss. His grip loosened and let me slide back to the ground, before resting his hands on my lower back.

"You found me." Kade grinned.

I nodded, mirroring his grin. "The Empire State Building."

"You're the smartest of them all Bel," he winked, before our lips came together once again. Smiling, we came apart to watch the rays of the sun paint the sky in warm oranges and pinks, illuminating the infamous skyline of New York City.

"Excuse me," a guy said, patting me on the shoulder. Kade and I both turned around. "I'm a travel photographer and I couldn't help but notice you guys earlier. I hope you don't mind but I took this picture." He continued, uncurling the camera strap from his neck before showing us the screen.

I sucked in a breath. It was absolutely stunning. We were both lost in each other's eyes. He held me up by the legs as I held onto his face, our lips barely touching as the New York skyline shone in the background.

"Wow you're talented." I complimented, shooting him a grin.

"Thanks," he replied. "I can give you guys a copy for free right now if you like, if it's okay I upload it to my Instagram, which is @rensworld if you'd like to see it."

I looked up at Kade for what he thought. He smiled down at me before nodding. "Yeah that's not a problem dude. We'd love a copy."

He grinned before taking out his backpack and pulled out a small laptop. He plugged in the camera's cord before uploading the photo. "Just turn on the airdrop on your phone."

I did as told. "It's under Isobel's iPhone by the way." I let him know.

Within seconds the photo was sent to my photos. "Thankyou so much!"

"Thankyou," Kade shook his hand. "I know you said it was free, but seriously, thanks man." Kade added slipping him a bill. I gave him a curious smile at the kind and generous gesture. He shrugged in return.

"Wow thanks guys," the photographer said surprised, a little hesitant to take it.

"Consider it a little tip," Kade smiled warmly in encouragement.

"Thankyou." The photographer beamed appreciatively. "Have a nice night!"

"That's a sign." He smirked, looking at the picture of us.

"What do you mean?" I chuckled.

"It's a sign from the universe saying we're meant to be together."

I pressed my lips to his as I giggled. "Gosh you're so extra, but I love it."

He winked before placing an arm around my body so we could observe more of our surroundings.

We continued our stroll around the deck, seeing the city in a gorgeous 360 degree view. Being so high up in the air made it chillier than usual, I shivered a little through the thin material of my top. Kade noticed, pulling me closer to his side as I felt his warmth cocoon me.

"Will you go on a date with me please Bels?" He murmured into my hair.

"We aren't already on one?" I cocked an eyebrow.

"It's only just the beginning baby."

"No really, I thought it was the end?" I said playfully, pinching my eyebrows together in mock thought.

He rolled his eyes at me before taking my hands in his. "So, will you go with me or not?"

I chuckled, tightening my fingers to give his hand a squeeze. "Yes Whitley, I will."

He grinned, before dragging me towards the elevators.

Oh boy, here we go.
