Y/N'S POV

"Ah eonni! I told you, didn't I? I'm not interested in going on a blind date. All the guys in my college are weird." I whined as my older sister pulled out clothes from my closet, placing them on the bed.

She was married to the cousin of the guy I was supposed to go on a blind date with and couldn't stop praising her brother-in-law, insisting that I absolutely needed to meet him.

"Y/N, listen to me. Hyunwoo is an amazing guy. He's got flawless manners and is very good looking too. You've got nothing to lose." She glanced at me. "Do you think I'd ask you to meet jerks, the sorts of Jimin?"

"What does this have to do with Jimin?" I rolled my eyes, making a face.

"Oh come on, you can't fool me, young lady." My sister threw me a disapproving glance, her arms crossed and lips pulled into a thin line making her otherwise delicate face appear almost stern. "Mom might be smitten enough with his charming smile and sweet talk to not realise how much that boy has hurt you but I'm not that easy."

Firmly, she gestured towards the bathroom. "Now go wash up and get ready. I know what I'm talking about." She stated reassuringly.

"Before marrying Jae's father, I did my share of the dating too and I know that boy, Jimin, no matter how innocent he used to be in childhood, is nothing but trouble now."

"I hate how I can't exactly disagree with you." I mumbled reluctantly. "It had never imagined that Jimin could be so mean to me. I was just trying to help him."

Eonni's face softened by a fraction. Again, she used to absolutely adore Jimin when we were kids too. "It's not easy to help those who don't want to be helped, Y/N. He's not in his right mind to let this opportunity slip through his fingers." She smiled at me and I felt my face warm up all of a sudden.

I couldn't believe that even she had considered the possibility of Jimin and I ending up as lovers and more. But now, she clearly thought differently.

Washing up, I put on the outfit she'd chosen for me. It was a ribbed, beige turtleneck sweater paired with a burgundy corduroy pinafore. Additionally, she'd also picked out the perfect beige heels and accessories to go with the outfit. I smiled as I shut the clasps of the layered silver chains that were resting around my neck.

Needless to say, my sister had taste. And that was probably one of the reasons why she'd managed to marry her husband, who was one of the most amazing people I knew.

I just hoped his cousin wasn't like that because he happened to be anywhere near as kind and respectful as his hyung, I was afraid he'd actually stand a chance.

"I'm ready." I announced, stepping out of the bathroom and my sister chuckled.

"This has to be the first time I've seen you dressed like a human." She grinned. "You completely gave up on looking nice once mom stopped dressing you in those cute little frocks."

Yeah, because a certain someone wasn't there to compliment me for my cute dresses anymore.

"That's not true!" I pouted, defending myself. "You just never noticed me because you were too busy trying to get married."

My sister laughed as I huffed and dramatically stomped out of the room. "You look beautiful though!" She yelled behind me and I smiled.

Hyunwoo actually turned out to be much better than I'd expected. He was exactly like my sister had said, extremely easy going and friendly, yet also respectful. Our conversation flowed well and he was good-humoured and broad-minded enough to even get an introvert like me to be invested in the dialogue.

"You're really pretty, Y/N." He flashed me a genial smile. "I guess I should've already known that since you're Joohee noona's younger sister. She told me a lot about you, but I'm not going to lie, I was still taken aback by how beautiful you are."

I blushed. I couldn't help it. Nobody from the opposite sex had ever complimented me so outrightly before and even though my heart was running a marathon right now, I didn't want to react like a typical, shy high schooler who's reduced to a sputtering mess with just one well-meant compliment.

"Thank you. You're actually rather handsome yourself. I wasn't really interested in coming to this date but my sister insisted and I have to say, I'm not disappointed." I admitted with a genuine smile, not realising that someone had just occupied a booth adjacent to ours.

"Wahh, look at you blushing like a fvcking tomato! Is that how much you like this punk here?" Jimin drawled, making me whip around to stare at him, shocked.

What the fvck was he doing here?

"Jimin! Wha—Just shut up, okay? Why are you even here?" I glared at him confused and absolutely furious at the same time. Turning to Hyunwoo, who looked perplexed to say the least, I quickly mouthed an apology before getting up and gripping Jimin's wrist.

Judging from the lack of any warm clothes, he seemed to have driven here really fast, his cheeks tinged pink from the cold and his hair all messed up from the wind. Even his hand seemed ice cold to the touch and I could feel his pulse beating irregularly fast underneath his skin.

"Let's talk." I demanded curtly as he smirked, freeing his hand.

"I'm not going to take his date away from him." He nodded towards Hyunwoo, his expression sour and his eyes full of disgust. "Whatever I've got to say, I'll say it here."

"And ruin my perfectly good date? No, thanks, Jimin. If you've got to say anything to me, go back and wait until I reach home or come outside with me right now. I will not let you ruin our mood."

"Our?" Jimin arched an eyebrow, almost sounding hurt. "Sorry to break it to you, Y/N but your 'our' exists only with me."

I sighed. "Don't be stupid, Jimin. You're nothing but an ex-best friend who's now a mean, conniving bastard who took advantage of my feelings for you. You've got no right to control who I want to be with."

Silence engulfed us for a second as Jimin blinked, almost looking distracted.

"Do you really want to be with this bastard then?" Jimin's expression was unreadable.

"Stop calling him a bastard!" I scowled. "You might not know it but your thoughtless words can really hurt people."

"Fine." He gritted his jaw in annoyance, pulling his eyes away from me and backing off. "I'll stop." And then before I could comprehend anything, Jimin's fist was hitting Hyunwoo across the face as the latter yelled in agony and fell onto the floor, clutching his jaw.

"Jimin, what is wrong with you!?" I screamed, my throat drying up as Hyunwoo shakingly wiped his mouth, revealing a bloody lip and a nasty bruise quickly forming on his cheek. But Jimin held me back with his arm as he towered over Hyunwoo, a diabolical grin on his handsome face.

"Just showing this bastard that actions have always and will continue to speak louder than any of his deceptively sweet words." Jimin mused darkly, his eyes glinting with malice as he kicked Hyunwoo in the gut. "I just want to know until when this fvcker can keep up his 'nice guy' act just to get into your pants."

I stared at him shocked. Had he lost his mind or something?

"Jimin, what the fvck do you mean? Get off him!" I shouted angrily, trying to tug Jimin away from Hyunwoo but as it turned out, Hyunwoo didn't need any saving at all.

"You're taking it way too far now, you fvcking vermin!" Hyunwoo swore lewdly as he lunged towards Jimin. "I warned you to stay out of my way, didn't I? Or do you want to end up like your dead mother too?"
