On our day off, confined to the dorm without permission to venture out, Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa shared tips and elucidated the dorm rules. As we conversed about our lives, they expressed surprise at me never visiting Korea before. Their enthusiasm for me to experience traditional Korean food was palpable, but we had to wait until we were allowed to explore outside. During our time at the dorm, we also acquainted ourselves with other trainees: Hannah, Miyeon, and Jinny.

On the day designated for our journey to the YG building, our driver ushered us there. Upon arrival, we entered a dance studio where Mr. Hang and another woman awaited. They greeted us, and Mr. Hang, with a stern demeanor, welcomed Chaeyong and me to our first month as trainees. Introducing Kim Hee Jung as one of our dance teachers, he handed us papers containing rules, monthly schedules, and basic information to examine in our free time. Mr. Hang emphasized compliance to rules and schedules, bidding us farewell until our vocal lessons.

As he exited, Kim Hee Jung took over, inquiring about Chaeyong's dance experience. Chaeyong admitted to being a beginner, prompting Kim Hee Jung to stress the importance of practice and seeking help from others. Turning her attention to me, Kim Hee Jung acknowledged my dance background, expressing high expectations. Nervousness settled in, especially considering the rigorous reputation of the dance teacher known as "Potato Teacher."

Kim Hee Jung elucidated that, at the end of every month, we would perform a group choreography and song in front of Yang Hyun-suk, coaches, producers, and sometimes YG Idols. We were responsible for planning it ourselves, with access to the dance studios if available.

Fourteen hours later, after extensive practice, singing, and dancing, exhaustion set in. The last two hours involved perfecting a choreography and song for our month-end performance. As the youngest, I found myself in charge of the choreography, an additional challenge that Potato Teacher deemed essential.

The chosen song for our performance was Troyboi's "Drip," aligning with YG's Hip-Hop style. Jisoo led the group vocal performance, opting for Cheryl's "Fight for This Love." Back at the dorm, post-shower and in the process of winding down, we reviewed the rules and schedule. Despite our fatigue, the determination to succeed echoed through our dorm discussions.

During dinner, Chaeyong and I displayed mutual exhaustion and appetite, prompting Jinny's playful comment about my hearty eating despite my petite figure. As we delved into the rules and schedule after eating, my mention of soreness led to a light-hearted plea for a massage, a request met with amusement from the group.

Jinny and Lisa assisted in clarifying the rules and schedule, emphasizing key points: no drinking, smoking, tattoos, or involvement with boys. Lunch and practice room timings would vary, and we faced an intense training schedule with thirteen consecutive days followed by a single day off. The realization of not being able to see Yu-jun during lunchtimes dawned on me.

Despite feeling nervous about the upcoming challenges, the determination to succeed and not go back home empty-handed became stronger.
