"Wait, Professor J is your brother??" Matt questioned as we sat outside in the courtyard during lunch.

I nodded, "Yep."

Matt sat there for a moment trying to process the new information. "So then Nick and Kevin..."

"Also my brothers," I said finishing his thought.

"How is it that I didn't know they were your brothers?" He questioned, looking confused.

"I don't know," I said with a shrug. "They treat me like any other student at school, and Jonas isn't exactly an uncommon name here, so..."

"Isn't it awkward though, having your brother..." Matt trailed off, seeming unwilling to finish his sentence.

"As a professor?" I added, attempting to finish his thought again.

"Actually, I was going to say give you the belt, but then it felt weird," he said shyly.

"No, it's more awkward getting it from the other professors, besides, it's how they deal with punishments at home so I am kind of used to it."

"Yea, but doesn't your Dad deal with punishments at home?" Matt questioned, unwrapping his sandwich and taking a bite before offering me the other half.

I shook my head and smiled...no way was I about to consume food around this boy I had been crushing over for two years...especially if there was a chance there might be another kiss in my future. I had been sucking on mints all morning in anticipation.

"I live with Joe and Nick," I said, nervously playing with the hem of my skirt. "My parents passed away a few years ago."

Matt stopped eating his sandwich, suddenly looking as though I had kicked him in the jewels. "I...God Cece...I am SO sorry...I didn't..."

"No, don't be," I interrupted, hoping to ease his obvious guilt. "Its fine."

"So what else don't I know about you?" He asked, hoping to get away from the uncomfortable topic.

"What do you want to know?" I said popping another mint into my mouth, at this rate I would be minty fresh until next Tuesday.

"Everything" he said simply before taking another bite of his sandwich.

"Well, my great grandpa was one of the founding professors of Chilton, so most of my family has come here."

"That explains all the Jonas's," Matt said with a smirk.

I smiled, "Yea, we are Italian so....big families."

"So you are all related?"

I shrugged "In one way or another I would assume...but when all of the families have at least four kids and those kids have at least four kids and so on....it gets hard to keep track, I know that my great Grandpa was the youngest of nine."

"Wow!" Matt said, nearly choking on his sandwich.

"Yea, my mom and dad only planned to have the boys. I was kind of an oops...which is why there is a 7 year difference between Nick and I."

Matt sat quietly for a few seconds gathering his next question and I slowly lost my mind.

"So, what do your brothers think about you having a boyfriend?" he asked giving me a smile.

"I don't know, the subject has never come up."

Matt cocked a brow. "You've never had a boyfriend?"

"Nope," I said, biting my lip, slightly embarrassed.

"Would you like to?" he said, shooting me a smirk.

"That depends, are you asking?" I questioned confidently, mentally giving myself a high-five for keeping my cool.

Matt chuckled. "Yes," he said, taking a finger and sweeping a piece of hair from my face and tucking it behind my ear.

It was my turn to smirk, two years I have swooned over this beautiful boy, almost 100% of my waking hours have been spent staring at him or thinking about him, and now here he was asking me to be his girlfriend.

"I'll think about it," I said, acting coy and giving him a smile.

He knew better, calling my bluff he cupped my face with his hand and brought his lips to mine, moments later, the tip of his tongue lightly grazed my upper lip begging for entry, which I was more than happy to grant and soon I was in that familiar state of bliss...the only thoughts in my head were those of him, the kiss, and the delightful discovery that he tasted like peanut butter...I love peanut butter.

"Cecelia!" a voice boomed, bringing me out of my little daydream. I looked up to find all eyes on me, including those of my oldest brother Kevin.

"Yes?" I questioned nervously, I had no earthly idea what the class was even discussing at the moment. After my lunch with Matt, I had pretty much zoned out to lala land.

"I need to speak with you in my office," Kevin said, using his authoritative tone.

Craaaap!

I stood from my seat and made my way into his office connected to the back of the classroom. After giving instruction to the class, Kevin joined me, shutting the door behind him. His eyes met mine, and he crossed his arms over his chest.

Frick!

"What's going on?" He said, sounding slightly irritated.

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to clarify.

I loathe these non-specific questions, you know the ones, when you've done something that you don't really want your parents to know about, then they ask you something like "What did you do today?" and that paranoid voice in your head throws you into a panic, and your hands start to sweat because you are certain they somehow know. I have found it best to always clarify so you don't go spouting off information and tattling on yourself when in fact they were clueless and just asking about your day.

"I mean you haven't paid attention the entire class, you've spent the entire time doodling on your notebook, and I just asked you a question and you didn't even hear me." Kevin said, his tone both of concern and annoyance.

"You did?" I questioned. Wow I must have really been zoned out, I didn't hear him ask a thing.

"Yes, I did"

"I'm sorry, I was up really late last night, and I'm just tired," I lied.

Ok so it's not a total lie...I WAS up really late working on that stupid paper, and I was extremely tired, but I hadn't exactly been doodling 'I Heart SLEEP' over and over on my notebook either.

"Why were you up so late?" Kevin asked, his tone sounding more concerned.

"I was working on a paper."

"Oh yea, Joe told me about that." His tone returning upset. "I wasn't too pleased to hear about your response either."

I dropped my head "I'm sorry, but I just dont think he is being fair. I really did work hard on that paper Kev, it took me a week to finish it and now Joe is giving me not even two days to rewrite it and somehow make it better. I was up until almost 3 am just doing research."

"3 am?" Kevin questioned now looking more concerned.

"Yes."

Kevin sighed, "Alright, come over after school and I will help you out with your paper."

I smiled. "Really?"

"Yes," Kevin nodded "But straight after school, you aren't staying up all night again, I will let Joe know you are coming over."

"Thanks Kevvy."

"You're welcome, and bring your old paper, I want to take a look at it as well," Kevin added. I nodded in agreement.

"Alright, wake up and pay attention, don't make me pull you back in here, next time it won't be for a little chat," Kevin warned.

"Yes Sir."

Kevin smiled and stepped forward wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into a hug. Kevin hugs, are hands down, the best hugs ever. He is so kindhearted and warm you can't help but feel it when he hugs you, like being wrapped in a warm blanket. He kissed the top of my head before releasing me from the hug and opening the door back to the class.

"So, when do you suppose I might get to take you out on an actual date?" Matt questioned leaning against Morgan's locker after school as I loaded all my homework into my backpack.

"We just had lunch together... Doesn't that qualify as a date?" I questioned shoving my last book into my bag and struggling to zip it closed.

"Here, give it to me," Matt said reaching for my backpack, which I gladly handed over. He held the two sides together with ease while I pulled the zipper closed.

"An actual date doesn't involve peanut butter sandwiches." Matt countered chuckling.

"That's a shame...I really love peanut butter." I said jutting my lip out in a pout. Matt shot me a smile that made me momentarily forget how to breathe. "Well, what does an actual date involve?"

Matt shrugged, "We can do whatever you want, do you like movies?"

"Love them," I corrected.

"What about this weekend?" Matt questioned. "Dinner and a movie?"

"I dunno...."

"You don't want to go on a date with me?" Matt questioned confused.

"Oh no, I definitely want to go, I'm just not looking forward to that conversation with my brothers," I explained. "Speaking of brothers, I have to go or one is going to kill me...I'll text you later."

"Ok, think about that date..."

"Oh, trust me, I will," I said, throwing my backpack onto my shoulder.

Matt grabbed the strap of my backpack and pulled me to him, planting a quick kiss on my lips. "See you tomorrow." I smiled before turning around and walking toward the exit. I HAD to go on that date this weekend...question was, am I ready to announce to my brothers that boys no longer have cooties.
