I pried my eyes from my homework feeling nauseas, setting my book down I stood from my bed and made my way down the stairs. Passing through the corridor I heard Nick to my left and looked over to see him and Matt sitting on the couch, Matt clutching Zelda in his hands, I had to suppress my sudden urge to vomit as I quickly made my way to the kitchen and poured myself into a seat at the counter. Joe turned around from the stove giving me a once over as I fumbled with my testing kit suddenly feeling very flustered and clumsy. "Are you alright?" he asked cocking a brow, I didn't answer, with the wave of nausea washing over me I had to focus all my energy into plugging the testing strip into my meter. "CeCelia?" Joe questioned again as I grabbed my pricker and pricked my finger.

"No, I'm not alright...He has his hands all over her...it makes me sick." I spat before feeding the bead of blood into the strip. Joe looked at me confused.

"Are you drunk?" he asked walking over and giving me a glare.

"What?" I asked appalled as I squeezed my finger attempting to feed enough blood onto the strip, finally the meter beeped signaling it had a respectable sample of blood as the 5 second countdown started on the screen.

"Look at me." Joe ordered putting a finger to my chin and bringing my eyes up to meet his, "What is wrong?" it was in that moment that my meter went BEEP BEEP grabbing the attention of Nick who immediately made his way into the kitchen looking concerned. Joe turned to Nick and cocked a brow.

"Did I just hear a beep beep?" he questioned.

"Is Beep Beep bad?" Joe asked unaware his face suddenly turning concerned.

"beep-beep bad...beep beep very bad" I said feeling my words hard to speak as Nick grabbed my meter from my hands.

"SHIT." He spat throwing open the fridge and grabbing a juice. "Drink!" he ordered holding the straw to my lips, I did so although not happily, the simple act of drinking seemed overly strenuous.

It was in that moment that I was being fed juice like an infant that Matt walked into the kitchen, of course, its official...God hates me.

"Is everything alright?" he questioned taking in the scene in front of him.

I pulled the straw from my lips "Fine" I piped immediately having the straw shoved back into my mouth.

"Hush, Drink." Nick ordered again. I rolled my eyes but did as I was told as Joe, Nick, and Matt stood there staring.

Finishing the juice I pulled the straw from my lips. I hated the way their eyes watched my every move. I squirmed under their uncomfortable stares. "Stop staring at me."

"I want you testing every ten minutes until you are back in range." Nick said ignoring my request. Feeling another wave of nausea I folded my arms in front of me and put my head down as the room started to spin and Nick walked over to the sink wetting a washcloth with cold water.

"I feel like ass." I mumbled not caring about watching my mouth...it seemed to be the only word to correctly describe my current state.

Or shit...shit would have worked as well.

"Hey!" Joe immediately started to scold, Nick quickly held up his hand signaling him to chill as he placed the washcloth on the back of my neck, the cool sensation seemed to almost immediately help.

"Relax baby girl," Nick said rubbing my back, "I'll be back in ten minutes to check on you." He said before turning and pulling Joe out of the kitchen with him.

"What the hell Nick, you can't just let her get away with stuff because of diabetes!" Joe ranted.

Nick furrowed his brows, "What!?"

"You know what I mean," Joe defended, "If you give CeCe an inch she will take a mile, pretty soon all of her bad behavior will be because a high or low!"

Nick chuckled in disbelief shaking his head, "No offense Joe, but you have NO IDEA how that feels, she just tested a 42...I'm a little more concerned with bringing that number up than with her language right now, the lecture can wait." Joe held up his hands in mock surrender as Nick turned his attention to Matt. "Why aren't you practicing?"

"I...I was but I heard you yell and I thought something was wrong," Matt stuttered caught off guard by Nick's sudden attention on him.

"Well, we are handling it, get back to practicing." Nick spat before walking down the hall and disappearing into his room.

"That is about me...not you." Joe said attempting to ease the obvious stress that was now etched into Matt's face.

"Is Cee ok, she is acting odd," he questioned looking worried.

Joe nodded, "Her blood sugar is just off right now, high or low blood sugars can make someone speak or act in ways they wouldn't usually."

"Like...breaking up with their boyfriend for no reason?" Matt questioned.

Joe cocked a brow, "No reason?"

Matt shrugged, "Ok, so we argued but couples argue all the time and don't break up."

Joe shook his head, "Look, Matt, I don't want to sound mean but have you considered the fact that she might be interested in Josh? Maybe that is why she broke up with you."

Matt clenched his jaw, "Yea...I was really hoping that wasn't the case."

"I don't like it any more than you do but I don't want you getting your hopes up for reconciliation."

Matt sighed, "You are in charge, just tell her she can't date him."

Joe chuckled, "Matt, you know as well as I do that if she wants to date him she will regardless of what we say. Now if I were you I would get back to practicing before Nick comes back out here."

-Nick's POV-

I walked back into the kitchen to find Cee still sitting with her head folded into her arms, I knew exactly how it felt to fall into a low like that... the shaky, sweaty, head pounding, stomach lurching abyss that makes you slur your words and pray for death...because surely death would not be that miserable, my heart broke for her. "How are ya feelin Baby Girl?"

Cee turned her head to the side to face me, her hair sticking to her face with sweat, she was pale. "Like crap."

I took the washcloth from her neck, rewetting it with cool water before returning it to her. "Well, that's better than ass..." I said giving her a pointed look.

Cee winced at my words as if being reminded of something horrible, "I'm sorry Nicky, I didn't mean to say it...out loud at least." She uttered, I had to struggle not to break my stern composure at her brutal honesty.

"It's not ok," I said rubbing her back, "the lecture can wait though, let's see where you are at." I grabbed her meter from the counter and plugged a test strip in before cocking her pricker. "Gimme a finger." It was clear that Cee was still not feeling up to par as she completely dismissed a perfect opportunity to flip me off and held up a weak pinky in my direction, I quickly pricked the side of her pinky squeezing the tip a bit to produce a good droplet of blood before feeding it into the test strip. Watching the screen of her meter count down for what felt like ages I was finally greeted with a BEEP BEEP, I sighed as I looked down at a number not much better than before 54.

"What's the diagnosis Doc?" she asked her voice weak and her words slurring as if getting stuck on her tongue during delivery.

"Still diabetic." I joked causing a very slight smile to tug at her lips. I would take it. "You need more carbs, do you feel up to chewing? Do you want a snack or do you want to juice it again?"

Cee's face contorted at the suggestion of eating. "Can't I just wait for that juice to bring me up more? I'd rather do anything than eat."

I shook my head walking over to the fridge to grab another juice. "Juice will only bring you up about 20 points max...you have only come up 12 which means your body has decided to slum it for a while, not to mention we need you to come up more than 20 to be in range." Plugging the straw into the juice box I slid it in her direction, she grabbed it weakly before bringing the straw to her lips. I watched as she drank the juice completely before pushing the box away in disgust.

"I'd like to return diabetes now." Cee groaned looking at me with pleading eyes.

I put an arm around her shoulder hugging her to my side. "I'd do anything in the world if I could take back the fact you have diabetes, unfortunately you are stuck with it. Just chill out here for a little bit longer and I'll come check on you soon."

Cee nodded weakly before putting her head on the counter as I walked out of the kitchen.
