"Way to fly below that radar Ace." Josh playfully scolded. I rolled my eyes and stood from my desk before making my way toward Nick who stood holding open his office door, I made no effort at eye contact as I walked past him and into the small room. I heard the heated debate about sex and babies muffle as he shut the door behind him and took stance directly in front of me.

"How dare you talk to me that way in class." Nick seethed through gritted teeth.

"What?" I said playing it coy, "I was just participating in the debate."

"That is not at all what that was and you and I know it. If you have an issue with me then come to me about it, do not bring our personal lives into class and put them up for public debate."

"You are one to talk!" I scoffed, "You do this sort of thing to me all the time and not just me, what was that thing you just pulled in there with Josh?"

"I don't know what you are talking about."

"That's bullshit." I spat under my breath before turning to make my way toward the door.

"What did you just say?" Nick's tone was sharp as he hooked a hand around the top of my arm and pulled me back to face him.

"I said that's bullshit," I repeated this time with more emphasis, "You were totally picking on Josh because you don't like him but he likes me and that bothers you."

His jaw tightened. "What bothers me is your attitude and your complete lack of respect since you entered this office."

"Respect is earned."

I watched Nick's eyes darken and I knew I had crossed the line. "I am your parent for all intents and purposes as well as your professor...you WILL be respectful." I rolled my eyes at him again and heard Nick's belt slip from it's loops; immediately my breath hitched. "Let's go"

"No!"

"You have 10 so far," Nick said, his brows furrowed together in frustration, "You want me to make it 20?"

"You can make it a million for all I care, I'm not taking the belt when I didn't do anything wrong." I said adamantly making my way toward the door. "You are upset with me for what I said yesterday and you are trying to take it out on me at school and that's not fair plus it's not like I outed you, no one in the class besides you even knew what I was talking about."

"You are right, I am upset over what you said yesterday and the fact that you attempted to air out my dirty laundry in front of my class but that is something we will discuss at a later time outside of school. Regardless of what is going on in our personal lives, while at school I am your professor, one that you are treating very disrespectfully. Your actions have been one long string of eye rolling, cussing, and backtalk since you walked through that door. I don't care if you agree with it or not, this is not your call, its mine." I turned again with full intention of walking out of his office and was met with my brother's warning growl. "Cecelia, so help me if you try to walk out that door I will drag you back in here by your hair. You would not be acting this way if I were any other professor, if you want to make this personal we can, there are a lot of things I have let slide lately that I will gladly tack on for."

I turned to meet my brother's eyes with mine, "I'm sorry."

"I appreciate the apology but it's too late."

"Please," I shamelessly begged, "It's really embarrassing walking back into class afterward...everyone will know."

"I'm sorry but that is something you should have thought of before."

"Can't we do this at home...or after school?" I bargained, "You can even tack on extra for other stuff."

"Do you want me to start tacking on for stalling?"

I attempted one last time to change my fate and shot Nick the puppy dog eyes, "Pleeeease."

Nick let out a small frustrated sigh, "One..." He said his tone remaining firm
"two...three..."

"Stop!"

"Four..."

"ALRIGHT!" I stomped petulantly toward his desk and cursed under my breath for earning myself an extra four. Leaning over his desk I buried my face in my folded arms, I had not yet acclimated to my new position before the first lick fell causing me to jump not only from surprise but also from the startling sound of the belt as it landed across my uniform clad behind. I barely had the chance to catch my breath from the shock before Nick landed three more fiery stripes across the tops of my thighs.

One rule of thumb when it comes to getting the belt...you should either:

A) Do it often

B) never EVER do it

Receiving the belt, if done often enough, is not as bad as one would think...don't get me wrong, it hurts, but its tolerable. It delivers a sharp stinging stimuli and reminds you...hey,what you just did or said...BAD idea. However, receiving the belt after a long stint of time on practically belt-virgin skin delivers a MUCH more powerful stimuli. I had unfortunately found myself privy to the later having not received the belt since the morning before my diagnosis.

Four more stripes landed in quick succession searing across my ass and I lost my composure as tears started to well; when the next two spread across the tops of my thighs I buried my head deeper into my arms to stifle the audible 'owww' that slipped from my lips. The last four came swiftly and Nick made sure to land each fiery stripe in the same sensitive spot directly under my ass; the last one sending me shooting into a standing position my hands immediately flying back in an attempt to rub away the sting. Those would be the ones I'd feel all frickin' day. I kept my back turned to Nick as he threaded his belt back through the loops and placed a hand on my shoulder, which I immediately shrugged away.

Sighing, Nick grabbed my shoulders, turning me to face him and I quickly brought my hands up to clear the tears puddling in my eyes and threatening to drop. "I'm sorry," I managed to mumble, still avoiding eye contact. He immediately pulled me into a hug and I allowed myself to soak in a moment of comfort from my big brother.

"I know things are a mess right now but I'm going to fix it I promise; everything will work out." he said placing a kiss on the top of my head before releasing me from the hug as the debate in the classroom seemed to escalate into a large roar. "I better get out there, who knows what kind of turn that conversation has taken." I nodded before wiping my eyes again. "Go ahead, take a few minutes and pull yourself together then come back out and just take a seat in the back for the remainder of the class, that way you aren't making a grand reentrance." I shot my brother a smile of appreciation. "This topic wasn't some devious plan of yours to start the baby talk and get me sweatin' was it?"

I couldn't help but giggle at his assumption, "No way...my plan was to fly below the radar and not make waves with you this morning."

"Fail. What was your topic?"

I smiled proudly, "Peanut butter, crunchy? or smooth?"

Nick rolled his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh, "Of course I couldn't have chosen a safe one like that...take a few then rejoin the discussion." he instructed before opening his office door and closing it quickly behind him. I walked into his small bathroom and splashed some cold water across my puffy eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm my breathing. I had just a few more blocks then it was off to Kevin's for my study date with Josh...for once in my life I found myself looking forward to history.
