A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.

Thankfully, the path split into four ways. They had been running for quite some time, but they had encountered no one. Moving the rock had caused no alarm it seemed. Perhaps, they were all too confident on their security, and they didn't bother with checking on who entered. Whatever the case, it was to their advantage. Tarhuinn and she now only needed to decide on which way to head.

They heard splashes of water down the far left and center right paths, so they would avoid those, but they had learned from the spies that the authors were at the center of the home. All of them were in one large room while five doors branched off to each of their own private rooms. Apparently, they rarely left the area, with the exception of Tergii and Bimaa. If they were lucky, all of the paths would eventually lead to the center area.

With neither the far right nor center left looking better than the other, they picked randomly the center left. A few ceiling windows illuminated the path with morning light and permitted them to note that the path dropped off up ahead. She hoped that they hadn't chosen a dead end, especially since splashes of water sounded back where they had left. Luckily, they weren't coming their way.

The two of them proceeded carefully, however. They didn't need to alert anyone to head down their way. When they reached the drop, they both crouched down and stayed near to the stone walls. No window was above them, but the last one cast shadows over them. Remaining within them, they both peered out ahead.

Water cascaded off of the drop and into a large pool below. A large window permitted light to shine down on the pool, illuminating several figures there. All of the ones swimming were kelremm. They were most likely spies since none of them fit the descriptions of the authors that the spies from last night disclosed. Casual conversation existed between all of them, but (f/n) noted something odd, and it wasn't just the fact that kelremm were swimming together when such a thing apparently never happened in the three complexes.

Off to the side, there were two humans: a male and a female. They were hiding behind some rocks and watching the five kelremm. Presently, they seemed to be whispering to each other. The only explanation for the humans being in the authors' home was that they were partners to two of the kelremm in the group. Most likely, they probably weren't supposed to leave the rooms of their partners.

"Should we do anything right now?" she asked in a whisper.

"No, we'll watch for a little longer. We'll see what those humans down there have planned. They might create a distraction for us, and we can sneak around those five spies."

"How? The only way is down."

"It isn't. There's a thin path along the wall to my left. No water runs down it, but I think that I can make it down to the waterfall behind those rocks over there." He pointed with his right index finger to the path and then to the waterfall. "It'll be a risk, but it's better than fighting through those five and possibly the two humans."

"I don't like it. You can't run down that path. It's too narrow. You'll fall off if you try, and if you walk, you won't make it in time, but I agree that taking them head on would be a bad idea. We should save as much energy as we can for the authors."

"Yes, I have a greater urge to kill them than any of the spies here, though; I would love to kill the ones down there as well, but that might put you in unnecessary danger, which I'd rather avoid. So, that leaves us with the thin trail to go on."

A visible frown made itself known on her lips. It just wasn't possible for him to make that distance at the slow pace that the path required. Her eyes peered down to her boots. His feet were larger than hers, but he could fit part of his feet into her boots.

Sitting down on the dry ground, she untied the laces and worked on taking them off. They were soaked with water anyway. Her feet were shivering, and she didn't need water like Tarhuinn. The boots would deliver him better use than her at this point.

Puzzled, Tarhuinn focused some of his attention on her. The rest remained on the seven individuals below them. He finally understood once he saw her dip the shoes into the water. When she removed them, the bottoms were filled with water. She held them out to him. "These should help you somewhat. You may be walking awkwardly, but you won't grow weak. I can continue on barefoot. My feet need to dry off anyway."

"Thank you, (f/n). I'll make sure to replace them when we get back home."

"You better. I prefer warm boots to cold stone," she remarked, though; she had a playful smile on her lips. In truth, she did wish for new boots, but she would be happy enough if they made it home.

Lightly laughing, Tarhuinn set the shoes aside for the time being. Their lighthearted moment quickly ended, however, as they both gave their full attention to the kelremm and humans down below. The kelremm were still joking around, but four of the five soon swam deep below the water's surface. Dark green grass grew at the base and hid their forms from sight.

Standing up on one of the rocks by the pool, the one remaining kelremm stretched before she combed her fingers through her messy, short hair. The wavy locks covered her dark blue eyes partially, and a yawn escaped her lips.

"That's the female spy from last night," Tarhuinn commented before his gaze shifted to the pile of weapons by the pool. "We should avoid her. Like the spy that I killed outside of this place, she's skilled at close range, and I didn't see a weapon on her last night."

"Couldn't it have been hidden?"

"Yes, but I have a feeling that she doesn't need one. Even now, look at that pile of weapons. There are two swords, a spear and several small daggers. They most likely belong to the other four. She hasn't even glanced at them once, but the other four have. And if you examine the rock that she's on, you'll notice pieces of rock at the base of it. They fell from the areas where her hands were at."

"If we do have to fight her, we'll avoid her hands, then."

"Exactly. If her objective were to kill us, she would most likely go for our necks first, but since she's been ordered to capture us, like all the other spies, she may attempt to aim for our legs and/or arms and break them if we don't allow her to knock us unconscious or if we don't come willingly."

"Well, we intend neither of those, but you've already found a way around her. We'll need to create a distraction, though, if the two humans remain behind those rocks."

"I don't think that we need to concern ourselves with that scenario."

She was about to ask why, but he merely pointed over to the pair. Both were huddled closer together, and their whispering had grown a little louder. It didn't help that the woman started to cry while the male slammed his right fist against the rock in front of them. These sounds combined drew the female kelremm's attention. A smirk formed on her lips before she placed her hands behind her head, chuckled and took a few steps forward. "Why don't you two come out already? I'd love to hear how you got out of your rooms."

Each of the humans froze, but the girl's sobs could still be heard. She remained sitting behind the rock while the man stood to his feet and revealed himself. "You don't need to know that information. What's more important is that our partners are down there," he stressed and pointed to the pool, "probably committing adulterous behavior."

Another chuckle left the kelremm's lips. "Oh, do you have proof? It's not like you're down there with them and watching their every action. You should go back to your room and take that human girl with you. Besides, both of you promised your partners that you would never leave those rooms, yet here you are. You both are quite the liars. I wouldn't blame them if they sought out other company." She shook her head a few times. "Really, you both are only creating more trouble for yourselves."

Clenching his fists more, the male took a step forward, and his eyes for a moment looked to the weapons' pile. An amused grin crossed the kelremm's lips. "Oh, do you intend to fight me? If so, I'd suggest that you really think about that." To taunt him further, she tapped her right index finger against the side of her head.

Growling, he went for one of the swords. By now, Tarhuinn had the boots on and was heading towards the path. He signaled for (f/n) to quickly follow. They had their distraction, but it probably wouldn't last too long. Like before, time wasn't on their side.
