Nate told me this morning that he finally has found a nanny for me, and I was going to meet her later. He didn't tell me much about her, only that she was nice and loved kids. I really hope that was true because it was me who was going to spend the most time with her.

I was sitting in the living room, drawing in one of my coloring books when I heard Arthur greet someone at the front door. A few moments later, Nate and a young girl with shining black hair emerged from the foyer.

"Estella, come say hello to Tiara".

Licking my lips, a bit nervously, I approached them, politely shaking the young girl's hand.

"I've been looking forward to meeting you", she said, smiling down at me.

"You too", I replied, fidgeting with my fingers.

"Tiara and I have already spoken about what her work as your nanny requires but I thought it would be a good idea to include you as well", Nate said, gesturing for us to sit on the couch.

"Okay", I agreed, purposely sitting next to him. I loved being close to Nate.

"Tiara's most important job is to watch you while we're not around. So, you have to be very good at listening to what she says to you and vice versa. Secondly, she is going to help you with some schoolwork, so you don't fall behind other kids your age. And lastly, Tiara is going to play with you when you want to, or take you on small trips, educational or just for fun and whatever you two might come up with. Does that sound good?" He finished, as he listed all the things he wanted to add.

"Yes", I replied, feeling kind of excited about this. I knew that watching me was going to be a job for her and she would get paid for doing so, but it sounded like her primary job was to be my friend. And that made me ecstatic! I had never had a friend before.

"Excellent", Nate smiled. "Well, I'll let you two get to know each other and at the end of the day I want us all to meet again and talk about how it went".

"That's perfect", Tiara answered, smiling brightly.

"Have a nice day then". My brother gave me a kiss on the forehead as he arose from the couch, heading down to the hallway where all the offices were located.

"So", my new nanny's voice drew my attention to her. "What do you like to do for fun?"

I pursed my lips, thinking hard about her question. "Hm... I like to play outside when it's nice weather and I like coloring or playing with my toys", I replied thoughtfully. "What do you like to do?" I asked, wanting to come off as nice.

"Well, first of all, that sounds so exciting!" Her voice was light as she spoke, almost sounding like an angel choir. "I must admit, shopping is my ultimate hobby. I could go on a shopping spree for days without getting bored. Otherwise, I enjoy going clubbing whenever there is time for it".

I had no idea what 'clubbing' meant.

"I've never been on a shopping spree before", I mumbled, admiring her dark green dress, with small frills at the bottom. She really understood how to put outfits together, especially with makeup.

"You're kidding!" Her eyes were close to popping out of her skull from my comment.

"No". I shook my head sheepishly as her mouth was suddenly agape, not believing her own ears.

"Well, we certainly have to make amends for that", she declared, standing up. "Come along".

Frowning, I followed behind her as she went to the staff lounge. Knocking on the door, she popped her head inside.

"Sorry for interrupting. Mr. Nathaniel said that if I needed a chauffeur that I could find one here?"

After a moment a man stepped out, leading us to the garage.

"Uhm, Tiara? Where're we going?" I asked, not quite sure of what was going on.

"Shopping sillyhead", she replied in an almost 'duh' tone.

"Wait", I said as she was about to step inside the back of the car. "I don't have any money".

She laughed. "Don't worry. Nathaniel has given me a special credit card with a specific amount of money that you and I can use together".

My mouth formed an 'O'. "Okay", I giggled, the tiniest bit excited to go shopping.

---

My orbs grew ten times bigger as I stared at the pile of clothes Tiara carried in her arms. How she didn't drop a single item was out of my understanding.

"Aw, look!" She exclaimed, holding up a shirt with a bunny on it. "Isn't this the cutest thing you have ever seen?"

I grinned. "The cutest!"

"Here, go try it on", she urged, propelling me towards the dressing room.

This went on for quite a while until Tiara had personally seen the entire children's collection.

I was surprised that I was having so much fun. This was a much better experience than when I went furniture shopping with Embry. That might also have to do with me remembering the words he said.

'Our bank accounts are not going to run dry'.

I recalled it like the back of my hand, doing my very best at just being a kid and not worrying about grown up stuff. The relief from not having any responsibility was enormous.

By the sparkle in Tiara's eyes, I think she enjoyed it too. Even more than me. Especially as she swiped the golden card through the payment terminal and it lit green, accepting the transfer. She seemed more and more thrilled as we went from one boutique to the other, the number on the terminal increasing every time.

"E, do you mind waiting here with Rafael while I go in there", my gaze drifted behind her to the shop she meant. It was a women's underwear store. "It won't take long. I promise", she added quickly, noticing my hesitation.

"Okay", I said, thinking about all of the clothes she had helped me pick out. If it wasn't for her, I would go around in these hand-me-downs until one of my brothers wanted to take me shopping. I guess it was only fair that she got to take a look around a grown-up shop.

"Thanks!" She squealed. "I'll hurry", she yelled over her shoulder as she almost took off running.

I sat down on the bench next to Rafael, waiting patiently for my nanny to come back.

However, it took longer than I originally thought, and it was getting boring just sitting around and looking at the other people who were out shopping that day.

Eventually, Rafael and I watched something on YouTube together as we waited. It was mostly videos about cars and how to repair them. By the time Tiara returned, I think even I had the right amount of knowledge to swoop up an engine.

"Sorry, I got a little carried away", she apologized as she held three bags of clothes in her hands.

"It's alright", I mumbled, deciding to brush it off.

"Well, where do you want to go next?" She asked, clapping her hands together with a wide smile.

"I think I'm ready to go back". Shopping had been fun, but my feet were aching from walking so much and my ankle had started to hurt since it wasn't fully healed yet.

"Already?" Tiara's face dropped in disappointment.

"Yeah, I want to play with my toys at home". I hadn't really played since I moved her and I kind of missed it.

"Oh, well we were just having so much fun", she pouted, much like I would do.

Pursing my lips, I nodded. "We can always go shopping another day, right?" I tried to persuade, not feeling like getting dragged through any more stores.

Tiara sighed. "Okay then. Let's go home".

The drive back to the house was much quieter than when we left, and I noticed how Rafael and Tiara kept glancing at each other through the rear-view mirror. They were acting weird.

When we had parked in the garage, I carefully slipped out of the tall car, grabbing a few of my bags from the trunk.

"I should report you", I heard Rafael hiss in a low tone from the driver's side of the car. Glancing in that direction I saw how Tiara stuffed her bags with underwear down some of the larger bags of clothes we had bought for me.

"For what? Doing my job?" She replied with a cold tone.

"Stop playing dumb. Don't pretend you bought Victoria Secret underwear for your own pocket money".

"I have no idea what you're talking about".

"Listen, just take the clothes back and I won't say a word".

"You won't say a word anyway", Tiara growled. "If you even consider telling on me, I will tell them you forced me to do it because you want me to wear sexy lingerie that you will force me to wear when you make me fuck you against my consent".

"You're a fucking psychopath!"

"Just keep your mouth shut! Then nothing will happen to you".

I had no idea what they were arguing about, but it made me uneasy that my new nanny had already been in a fight with another staff member on her first day.

"You're back late", Nate remarked as we entered the foyer.

"Yeah, I'm so sorry. We had so much fun, we completely lost track of time", Tiara explained with a light giggle. This bubbly personality was such a contradiction to how she was arguing with Rafael down in the garage. Quite scary actually.

My brother shrugged his shoulders. "That happens. Next time, make sure to be home before dinner. Preferably around 5 pm and not 7.30".

"Of course, sir".

Nate's eyes drifted down to me. "Did you have fun as well?" He asked, a small smile tugging on the corner of his mouth.

"Yes. We bought some new clothes for me". I beamed, showing a full teeth grin.

"That's great baby", he said. "Can't wait to see all of the things you've gotten".

"Do you want to see now?" I asked, excitement filling my orbs as I held out some of the bags for him to peek inside.

"Later sweetheart", he chuckled. "Dinner is waiting".

"After?" I whispered, gazing up at him with the most hopeful eyes.

Nate cracked a heartwarming smile. "Yes baby".

I squealed a little as I looked forward to showing him all of the items that were in the bags.

"Let me take these up to your room for you", he offered, taking my bags but also reaching out to those Tiara held.

"No!" She pulled them out of his reach. And then her eyes widened when we all gaped at her reaction. "Sorry, it's just you should let me do it. Your dinner is getting cold and I'm still at work so there's no need for you to put these away".

Nate's face held no expression as he studied her. "Alright", he said after what felt like an eternity, shoving the bags into her arms. From how Tiara swayed it seemed there was some force behind Nathaniel's movement.

"If you really want to, I don't see a problem in you carrying all of them up to the third floor then". His hands found their way to his front pockets. "You heard the lady, Rafael. She's still at work, so why don't you just put the bags right there and head home for the evening", he suggested, smiling at Rafael, who returned it.

"Will do Mr. Nathaniel. Have a good night", he said, heading for the staff entrance.

"Better get to work then", Nate directed his words at Tiara whose mouth was hanging slightly open as her orbs trailed along the numerous shopping bags.

"Yes Mr. Nathaniel", I heard her murmur as my brother guided me to the dining room.

"That looks so yummy", I commented as I plopped down next to Ray.

Drool was almost running out from the corner of my mouth. I had no idea I was that hungry. I dug in as soon as the steaming plate was pushed under my nose.

"Slow down. You'll choke", Nate mumbled, frowning at me.

I only hummed in response, my stomach almost singing in happiness from being filled.

He shook his head, pouring me a glass of water.

"You should think we didn't feed you by that pace you're going at", Ray chuckled as he swirled some of the Spaghetti Bolognese around his fork.

Thinking about it, I hadn't eaten since breakfast. Tiara kept stalling it at the mall as there seemed to be another store she wanted to visit before we found a restaurant. I didn't mention anything about this to the guys. What if she got in trouble? Then it would be my fault.

"So, do you really think Tiara is the right person for the job?" Ray questioned, looking over his glass at Nate.

My eldest brother lifted one of his shoulders in a shrug as he finished chewing. "She's not the most qualified but I'm doing this as a favor for her uncle. It hasn't been easy for her since her father passed. Her uncle believes a job would be able to put a stopper for her rebellious phase".

"That's fine but don't you think it would be better to have someone who has a bit more experience with kids?"

My gaze drifted between them as they were the only two who joined me at dinner. It looked like the rest had already eaten.

"Much better but Carlos is an old friend of Padre, and he was a big help back in the day when the war was raging".

(Father)

I pushed my eyebrows together in confusion. I don't remember any war in America through the years I had lived. It must have been before I was born then.

"I know", Ray sighed. "She's barely 18. I just think it's a little too young. That's all".

"She is but she also knows what my expectations are from her, and I won't be giving any second chances. I'm keeping a close eye on her for sure". Nate smiled fondly when he looked down at me, using a napkin to wipe some of the sauce off my nose. "It is after all an angel she is responsible for".

---

Tiara clapped her hands together. "How about this idea then?" My gaze drifted to her from the cars I had on my carpet. "Instead of going shopping for clothes we can go buy some toys. Doesn't that sound fun?"

I shook my head for the fifth time that morning. I didn't want to go anywhere today, I wanted to stay home and play.

Her face fell. She almost looked annoyed.

"So, you just want to stay in all day and play with that?" She almost spat the last word as she glared at my toys. "That's so unladylike for a girl to play with cars", she said disgustedly.

Somehow that made me sad. I liked to play with any toy that I could get my hands on, no matter if it was intended for boys or girls.

"Do you want to play?" I asked, holding out a red car to her, deciding to ignore how rude she was being.

"No thanks", she scoffed as she sat down on my beanbag with her arms crossed over her chest.

I bit my lip, hurt by how she was acting but continued to play my game. My barbie dolls Glenda and Gertrude were car dealers, and their sister Hilda was a race car driver. I even taught Glenda how to swoop up an engine just like the man on the YouTube video I watched with Rafael had done.

"I'm sorry E". Tiara's words interrupted my game again. "It wasn't cool the way I spoke to you. I just hate being inside when the sun is out", she sighed loudly, shaking her head in sadness.

Biting my lip, I felt bad for her. I didn't know she was sad.

"We can go outside if you want?" I said, glancing out the window. The sun was out but not much but I was offering this to be nice.

Her eyes lit up. "Yes! Let's go".

Normally I would've picked up my toys and put them away, but I didn't have the chance as Tiara basically pulled me out of my room.

The weather wasn't as warm as I had imagined, so I crossed my fingers and hoped that a few minutes of fresh air for my nanny would be able to satisfy her.

"Come on", she called as she followed the narrow trail that led down to the lake.

I tagged along, a few steps behind her, Demon appearing beside me. Ray had told me the whole property was surrounded by a large fence, so Demon could walk around without company if he wanted.

My eyes spotted an old playhouse with a small sandbox next to it. This was my first time outside in the backyard, so I didn't know it was here.

"Tiara, do you want to go play over there?" I pointed at what had stolen my attention.

She squinted her eyes. "And ruin my nails? Don't think so".

"Okay", I murmured, disappointed that she hasn't played with me yet. That was one of the things I had been looking forward to the most.

Pushing the sadness away, I quickly came up with a new game I could play with all of the buckets and baking tins that were scattered around.

"Hey, E?"

"Hm?"

"Who is that?"

I popped my head out of the playhouse. Following Tiara's gaze, I saw a tall man with a wide back on the patio, lighting a cigarette.

"That's Embry", I answered, returning to my game. It was getting easier to recognize the eldest twins from each other. Embry's hair was a tad more voluminous, and he had stubbles. Whereas Sebastian didn't have any beard at all, and his hair was slicked back like a Ken doll.

"One of your brothers?" She inquired; her eyes filled with interest.

"Uhu", I nodded, flipping one of the buckets upside down so the sand would come out in a cone shape. I imagined it to be a nice chocolate cake.

"How old is he?"

Being quite occupied by my game, I gave her the same answer Slade had given me. "About 27 or something".

Tiara hummed as she kept gawking at him with this weird look in her eyes. "Does he have a girlfriend?"

"I don't know".

"So, you haven't seen him with a girl or anything?" She pushed. All of her questions were starting to annoy me as she kept interrupting my game.

"Don't think so", I murmured as I used some leaves to decorate my sand cake.

"Could you ask him and then tell me what he said?"

My gaze traveled from what I was playing with, staring at her from her odd request. "Can't you ask him?"

Tiara rolled her brown eyes. "But then he would know it was me".

"So?" I lifted my brow, not understanding what she was going on about.

She sighed heavily. "Can't you just do it at some point and then give the information to me the next time you see me?"

As I was about to protest, she cut me off.

"You kind of owe it to me as I helped you yesterday with shopping. Now you can help me in return", she said, a small smile gracing her lips.

Guilt knacked at me. It was true she helped me a lot yesterday and I didn't want to seem ungrateful.

"But what do you want me to ask him?" I mumbled, giving in.

A mischievous smirk appeared on her face as she leaned in closer.

---

Lurking in the doorway of Embry's bedroom, I hesitated if I should go in or not. I felt torn. I wanted to help Tiara out, but I didn't feel comfortable asking Embry those questions she had made me memorize.

I ended up chickening out, turning around just as a voice stopped me dead in my tracks.

"What's up princess?"

Turning back around, I saw Embry walking out of his bathroom, small droplets falling from his damp hair. He had changed into sweatpants and a loose t-shirt, ready to relax the rest of the evening.

"Nothing", murmured, trying to come up with an excuse to bother him after I had gotten ready for bed myself. "Just wanted to see how you're doing".

My brother smirked. "I'm doing great. Thanks for asking princess. That was really sweet of you".

I blushed a bit as my eyes connected with my bare feet.

"I take it that's not all you wanted?" He guessed, his shadow looming in front of me.

I shook my head, confirming his assumption. My fingers fumbled with Mr. Benny's trunk.

Two hands found their way underneath my armpits, lifting me up from the ground. Embry carried me over to his couch where he sat me down on his lap front to front.

"What's on your mind?" He asked gently, moving a strand of hair behind my shoulder.

"I don't want to intrude", I whispered, not being able to look him in the eyes. Instead, they admired the huge world map that hung on the wall behind him. It took up most of the wall and a lot of pins were placed around it.

"You may always intrude", he said
