The flight from Chicago to Seattle wasn't so bad - I spent most of it sleeping to be honest.

Ross and Thomas spent the four and a half flight catching up after eleven years apart. I mean not that they were close - at all as a matter of fact.

I'm glad Ross has decided to help me. He was helping me for a while till he had enough of me putting my job and finding my family above our marriage.

When we arrived at the airport we caught a cab straight to the court house.

Her hearing started two hours ago.

I sigh.

I can't believe that I missed it.

The three of us jump out of the cab simultaneously before walking side by side towards the court house.

"Isla" a voice screams from the distance.

I look to see Marissa. A scared eighteen year old girl who I would take a bullet for. She has long wavy hair, brown eyes, light olive skin. She now wore orange overalls.

Immediately I speed walk towards her two large male escorts who are guiding her to a van.

"Detective Isla Mills Seattle PD" I flash them my badge as we stood at the tail of the van.

"She's so hot when she does that" Ross says to Thomas who was walking towards us.

"Detective we have orders" one of the cops tell me.

"Just give me one minute" I raise a brow.

They nod as taking a step back. I wrap my arms around Marissa. God I miss her.

"Isla" she sobs.

"How are you kid? You hurt? You alright" I pull away to look her up and down.

She shouldn't be in prison. The people in there are dangerous. This girl is not.

"I'm okay" she nods violently as wiping her tears with her sleeve.

"How are the girls treating you?" I question as she moves all her hair to her left shoulder.

"It's prison not a five star hotel" she shrugs.

I smile despite desiring to cry "Well don't chu worry Marissa you'll be out of there soon, stay strong" I assure.

"Detective" the other guard starts "We have a schedule to stick to"

I nod as hugging her once more. I don't ever want to let her go.

"How did it go?" She whispers in my ear quickly "well I'm assuming?"

She assumes well because she can see Thomas and Ross.

"Brandon's dead....Hanks missing" I whisper as fast as possible.

"Mother fucker" she cries "Fucking mother fucker, this is getting dangerous Isla"

Getting? It always has been.

"Don't worry kid...You hear me...don't chu worry" I beg. I feel her heart beating faster and her arms shaking. "I'm so so sorry" I feel my eyes water. "I promise I'll get you out of this"

"Detective" the guard begs.

"Whens your next hearing?" I question as we pull away.

"Monday eleven am" she wipes her tears.

"I'll be there" I nod as the cops drag her into the back of the van.

I take a deep breath as I watch the van drive away. Suddenly I see Ely walking towards us.

"The judge ordered a recess till Monday" Ely folds his arms as he stood in a suit.

"How did it go?" I question.

"Marissa claims that she made a call ten minutes before the attack that should pin point her location across town-" he starts.

"But she can't find the damn phone" I sigh.

Marissa had told me about losing her phone the night that she was arrested. That phone could mean her freedom.

"Find that phone and she goes free" Ely informs as walking away from me.

He makes eye contact with Thomas but they don't exchange words. He keeps walking. Tommy must have told him that I found Thomas.

"We need to find that phone" I look down and sigh.

"I'm on it" Ross kisses my lips before leaving my sight.

Thomas and I stand in front of the court house glaring at each other. I can tell by the look in his eyes that he knows somethings up.

"Who is she?" He says simply as folding his arms.

The girl? Well she's somebody that we need to save.

"Marissa Lopez" I start "an eighteen year old girl who had been accused of murder"

He shakes his head slowly "Who is she really?"

I glance at him. My heart rate increases as the wind sends a shiver down my spine. I feel a tear escaping so I wipe it away quickly.

Thomas and I were close before we were separated. So close that we knew what each other was thinking.

I sigh. There's no use to lying to him.

"My biological mother was murdered on an undercover sting before I was born" I start "I never thought it was suspicious till I found out that Hank knew her well....I found out that she was assassinated just like Brandon and Lexi....they've been chasing our families so much longer than we thought Thomas!"

"Who is she?" He repeats.

"My mum Alexandria was pregnant when I was ten years old....it was a complicated pregnancy and birth...it was so serious that my dad wasn't allowed in the delivery room...we were told that she was a stillborn-" I explain.

"Fucking hell" Thomas takes a step back as running his fingers through her hair.

He knows exactly where this story is going.

"Her DNA confirms it Thomas" I start "she was adopted into a Spanish family who named her Marissa"

She's my flesh and blood.

"A baby? They took a damn baby! Why?" He cries.

"They've been after our families for almost thirty years-" I look down.

"Why?" He screams.

"Because they want to remove every trace of our DNA off the Damn planet!" I scream in annoyance as moving towards him. I shrug than sigh "I don't know why....I honestly don't"

"Is Lexi really dead?" He sighs.

I nod "I've seen her corpse"

I had to make sure that she was really dead so I checked her resting place - just like what I did to Johnathan.

Suddenly Thomas's eyes feel with terror "Isla"

I hate it when Thomas looks at me like that. I never know what he's going to say.

"What?" My heart rate increases in fear.

That's the longest pause that I've ever experienced in my entire life. The pause from my question to his response.

"What if they're not chasing my dad....They never were" Thomas looks me straight in the eye "They're chasing you"

Dun Dun Duuuun

Does anyone have any theories? Why are they chasing the Mills family? Where's Hank?

This book is SO complex that I literally need to write everything down lol.
