I stand in his office silently, observing every detail in the room - from the Harvard diploma on the cream walls to his name in bold letters, on his expensive desk.

Everyone around here wears suits, unlike where I work, where we constantly in bullet proof vests. In all honesty, I always found the thick layers on my body confronting, they made me feel safe. Some nights I even wear the vest to bed with me, that way I feel invincible. That's the only way to keep my nightmare at bay.

"Noah I am going to have to call you back," his voice says from behind me.

I slowly turn around to face the man that I have not seen in ten years. He looks exactly the same, perhaps less pain in his eyes. He stands in a navy blue suit and his brown hair perfectly groomed.

A part of me misses all the times we shared in high school, another part of me honestly just wants to forget.

The man is stunned for 0.5 seconds but recovers quickly. He walks towards his scotch and pours himself a glass before drinking it quickly, without hesitation.

So he's started drinking again. Good to know that I have that effect on people.

"Junior partner at twenty eight....that's impressive" I initate conversation.

"Well Laura made partner six months before I did so...." he starts as I face his back "her office is down the hall"

"Yeah, I saw her name on the door" I admit "so how's everybody?"

"Evie and Noah still live with me....the others attend college" Ely informs calmly, attempting to wrap his head around the situation, ".....What do you want Emma?"

I pause. Emma Fitzgerald is a name that I haven't heard out loud in ten years. Along with all the other alias' I went by back then.

"I need your help" I admit as inhaling deeply, "I need all of you to help me"

Ely turns to face me with dangerous eyes. He looks the same you know, I can't get over how much he hasn't changed. I feel as though I've traveled back ten years.

"Excuse me?" He starts slowly in surprise, "the last time anyone saw you, was graduation when your entire family disappeared....your house went up for sale....your phone number stopped working....you were completely untraceable"

Oh how naive he is.

"No" I shake my head "I was very traceable....my dad and brother are another stories....which is why I'm here...I need you to tell me where I can find Tommy and Kyle" I beg him.

"You are kidding?" Ely raises a brow in disbelief.

I've done my research on all of them. Their current professions can help me locate Thomas and Hank. I know they can.

"Tommy's some hot shot doctor and Kyle works for the FBI" I start "I need Tommy to find an exact medical history match from every hospital in the country and Kyle to get into the FBI database"

There's a moment of pure silence before Elijah opens his mouth, but seems to struggle to find the words to speak.

"I need to sit down" Elijah sighs as taking a seat at his desk ".....What is it that you are trying to tell me? So far what I have gathered is that you need my assistance to locate Kyle and Tommy for a reason that I am currently unaware of...after I have not seen you for ten years"

"Can you help me?" I feel my hands begin to shake.

I don't know why I'm so terrified. I've been in rooms with murderers for goodness sake, but nothing compares to talking to Elijah. He was someone that I always did admire.

"Tell me where you and your family have been these last ten years and why the hell you need Tommy to track down medical records and Kyle to hack in the FBI's database" he orders.

I sigh "It's a long story"

That's not even an exaggeration. This story goes back twelve years, every year is just as complex as the previous one.

"Look, after your family disappeared, we realized on our own that you had lied to us...I will not allow that to happen again, so if you want my help you need to start by telling me the truth....for starters you need to tell me your real name...Kyle and Tommy checked a bunch of databases and there are no records of you or your family anywhere" Ely exclaims.

I have no intention of lying to him. He deserves to know the truth, hell they all do. That stupid oath I took all those years ago no longer matters to me, as it has destroyed my family.

"You're right" I nod as he folds his arms "My name is Isla Mills...I was in the witness protective program for two and a half years, that's why there are no records of me or my family"

He raises a brow "The witness protection program?"

"Yes," I nod.

"And Jacob and your father?" He blinks.

"Their names are Thomas and Hank Sanders...I share no DNA with them what's so ever" I admit "We joined WITSEC in December 2016...and I was discharged in June of 2018...." I explain quickly. "Because I found out that case worker was Willow's biological father...and Kyle's father is a dirty FBI field officer in New York....it was no coincidence that we were located in your town...I shared these concerns with my family and before I knew it I was being dragged into the back of a car and told that I am no longer under their protection....but Hank and Thomas are and have been relocated God knows how many times...and not only that, they dragged my little brother into all this as well" I explain.

"So you are trying to find them?" He asks, scratching the back of his head.

I sigh "I've spent the last ten years trying"

They're untraceable. That's the point of the program.

"What does this have to do with Tommy and Kyle?" Elijah questions.

They can help me find them.

"Tommy's a doctor, right? Well, I need him to cross reference medical files for me...My brother Brandon has hemophilia, which requires frequent IV Fluids-" I tell him.

Ely folds his arms "You want Tommy to go through all of the country's medical files until he finds a male with hemophilia?" He interrupts.

"No a twenty-three-year-old male with hemophilia" I specify "....and I need Kyle to help me locate Johnathan Banks...Willow's biological father, the man responsible for all this"

"What makes you think that they would help you?" Ely clenches his jaw.

I look down "Because ten years ago they would have done anything for me"

"Keywords" he starts "would have"

"Will you please just give them a call to try to convince them" I beg.

They won't listen to me, but they sure as hell will listen to Elijah.

"No, I will not" he argues.

"Please" I beg "lives are on the line here"

They could be dead and I wouldn't even know. As long as they're under Johnathan's 'protection' they're in danger.

"What makes you think that you can protect them better than the FBI can?" Ely stands up in annoyance.

They're being protected by a dirty cop. They're not safe.

"Johnathan Banks is the definition of evil!" I cry "he took me out of the program because I knew too much, brought my brother - my flesh and blood into the program against my wishes and...." I look down and sigh "when I find Johnathan Banks, I will kill him....will you help me?"

"No" he shakes his head.

"Ugh" I throw my hands in the air. "Are you kidding? Why?"

"Because the FBI knows what they are doing" he rolls his eyes.

No they don't. The ones on my case are the definition of evil.

"The FBI is dirty! Especially the ones who were on my case!" I scream.

He shakes his head slowly "I cannot trust you"

Me arguing when him is just wasting precious time. Time is running out for me.

"Why because I obeyed the contract that prohibited me to tell you?" I raise a brow "look I'm staying at the four seasons, call me when you change your mind" I walk out of his office quickly.
