10 years later...

I sit in the interview room, sitting still as always. I glare at the man who sits before me. Police stations used to scare the crap outta me - I'm used to them now. How can I not be?

"We have footage" I start "of you stabbing the victim sixteen times through her chest"

"You're lying" he spits as the voice recorder and video camera sat beside me.

"That's the best part" I sit back in my seat "I'm not....so if you want to save yourself....just do yourself a favour and confess kid. The DA may even give you a plea deal."

With that, I stand up and walk towards the door. I give him three seconds to confess.

Two

One...

"Wait," he says, causing me to stop in my tracks "Yes okay I did it...it was just some girl at a party...everything just got out of control"

I glare at him and smile before leaving the interview room. "Did you get that boys?" I ask the guys behind the tinted window.

"Loud and clear Detective Mills" the cop in a uniform and a headset smiles.

"See ya next time" I wave as walking through the station.

Interrogations have always been my favourite. I love watching them squirm, especially the guilty ones.

"Where are you heading now detective?" Freddy Jenkins questions as following me down the hallway.

"Manhattan," I say simply "I'm catching up with an old friend"

"Hold up you're leaving us fellas in Seattle to play hooky with some old friend in New York?" He raises a brow.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying.

"Believe me it's not a social call" I assure him as heading towards the exit.

"Than what is it then?" We stop in our tracks, as we stand in the middle of the hallway.

I lean towards the man, with my lips only inches away from his. He gulps nervously. Intimidation and manipulation can be fun as well.

"None of your business" I whisper as talking a step back and walking towards the exit.

"Isla" a voice calls from behind me.

I turn my head. What does he want now?

"Lieutenant" I sigh, now standing before my boss who runs the Detective Squad.

"I hear you got the kid to confess" he folds his arms.

It only happened a minute ago. News travels fast.

"I told Chu he was guilty Deacon" I cock a brow.

But of course, he always doubts my judgment. I'm never wrong about who's guilty and who's innocent.

"I know you did....I'm here to tell you nice work" he struggles to say.

Hold up. Is Deacon praising me? That's a first.

"I'm sorry what? I didn't quite catch that" I bend my ear.

"Don't get cocky Mills" he smirks.

I laugh "So you're letting my girl go?"

"They're keeping Marissa Lopez in custody for the time being" he announces.

I roll my eyes. Is he serious?

"Come on we got a confession deacon...can't chu release her" I beg.

"You know that's not how it works" he starts "so where are you heading now?"

"The airport," I say simply as beginning to walk away from him "keep me posted Deacon"

"Will do" he assures.

I exit the police station before opening up my umbrella. Something about rain gives me comfort, or perhaps it gives me memories. Well I know one thing for certain, this trip is going to bring back a whole lot of memories.

Once I board the plane, I immediately shut my eyes. I haven't had a good night sleep in ten years ago.

How did I get here? How am I, a Twenty-eight-year-old Seattle detective? How am I Isla Mills again?

If someone told me all this years ago, I wouldn't believe them.

My mind then goes back ten years to the night I was taken.

"You're no longer under the protection of the witness protection program," Johnathan tells me.

"Why? Did I know too much is that it? Were you so scared that people would find out how dirty you really are?" I cried with tears streaming down my cheeks.

He smiled mischievously "You're in London...you can attend Oxford like you've always wanted"

There's was a moment of silence as I collected my own thoughts. I'm in London. I'm Isla Mills again. I can have my old life back.

I looked down in absolute anger. "....Can I at least see Brandon and my daughter?"

He smiled "Brandon is with Hank and Thomas at the new location" he starts "And Lexi...she never left the hospital"

"What?" I gasped.

"She died in early January of 2016" he announced.

My heart sunk as my surrounding suddenly become silent. She's dead?

"You bastard! You told me that she was alive and well! You lied! You lied to me!" I screamed at the top of my lungs as standing up from the sofa.

"Well, at least you have Oxford right?" He half smiled.

"You son of a bitch! You have taken everybody that I love away from me...Everybody! You have quite literally taken them off the map making them untraceable! All because I figured out that you're dirty" I yelled.

"Goodbye Isla" Johnatha laughed as leaving my sight.

"You son of a bitch! I'm going to find you and when I do you're dead!" I cried.

That has to be the single worse day of my entire life. I lost everybody in just a few short hours.

Now I'm going to do everything in my power to get them all back.
