Epilogue~

"You ready, Lauren?" Trent asked, running a hand through his tussled brown hair.

I nodded, tapping my foot on the linoleum floor of the school gym, where we were lined up, and all the while humming with a mixture of nerves and excitement.

It was finally the day, we had finished our senior year and were minutes away from officially being high school graduates.

The names having already begun being called, Trent and I were approaching the front of the line increasingly fast, especially with the last name Blake. I wiped my sweaty palms on the sides of my blue gown, and took a deep breath.

...

"Lauren Blake"

...

I stood there for a second before I fully registered the fact that my name was called. I had spaced out as a seemingly endless amount of names were came before mine. I was suddenly at the front of the line, where the principal was ushering me towards him with impatient eyes.

I quickly walked up to him, and smiled while grabbing my diploma with one hand and shaking his hand with the other. I heard many cheers and whistles erupt from the crowd as I passed, growing louder as my brothers name was called right after mine.

I stood with the rest of the people who already crossed the stage, staring down at my diploma in disbelief. My mind was still foggy, and I had a feeling it would take me a while to process that high school was officially over.

....

A few hours later I arrived home, exhausted, with my parents right behind me.

"I'm proud of you kiddo, you did it." Said my dad in his deep voice, giving me an affectionate pat on the back before retreating to his study.

I smiled, because it was pretty rare for my father to go anywhere these days; he worked like crazy, at his actual job and at home. He had made a lot of mistakes in the past year, but things were getting better and we were all close to whole again.

Trent burst through the door a while later, Audrey stuck to his side.

I had gotten used to it, but they had been dating for about four months, and it was still a little weird.

Especially at moments like these.

"We're graduates!" Audrey exclaimed, throwing her arms around my brothers neck and kissing him.

Carly had also had a boyfriend for a long time now, Sean, and so did Brandon. He came out to everyone and met a guy named Chris, who was really sweet.

Audrey and my brother had gone through a whirl-wind of fights and other issues, but made it out together. Meanwhile, they were full blown making out, right in front of me.

I wrinkled my nose at them, wondering how they were comfortable with standing in the middle of the living room and doing that.

"Well I'm gonna go up to my room, try to tone down the lovey dovey crap," I announced, backing up to the stairs before practically racing up them. I thought I heard Audrey yell something about how I had no room to talk, but I was already too far away to tell.

I collapsed onto my bed, staring up at the white ceiling in silence.

Not even two minutes later, my phone started ringing. I sat up and swiped it open.

"Long time no speak," I said sarcastically.

"Yes, I've been dying since the last time I saw you, two hours ago," Tyler said, going along with me.

I laughed, "Well, if you're not calling to tell me how much you miss me, get on with it."

"Oh I hope I'm not bothering you, I just wanted to take my beautiful girlfriend out for a celebratory dinner."

"I guess I can fit that into my ever so busy schedule," I sighed dramatically.

"Okay I'll be there soon," he chuckled. "Love you."

I smiled, "Love you too."

...

I walked out front about half an hour later to see Tyler casually leaning on the hood of his car.

I took a moment to appreciate his looks, and marvel over the fact that this gorgeous boy was in love with me.

Illuminated by the faint glow of the porch light, His dark hair was messy yet adorable, and his deep, chocolate eyes looked me over. His grey t-shirt clung to him, emphasizing his already amazing abs.

Ugh, gag that I just thought that, even though it's true.

I slid into his car, thankful that it was growing dark, otherwise the white leather seats would've burnt my bare legs.

"So how's it feel to be done with high school?" Tyler asked as he started the car and backed out of the driveway.

I scoffed, "I don't know. I should be asking you, no more horny girls swooning over you every second, how will you survive?"

"Oh there will still be plenty," he said cockily, flashing me a grin. "Plus," he added when I started to glare, "the only swooning I need is from you."

I grinned back at him, leaning my head back to rest against the seat. I frowned a few minutes later when I saw that we were pulling into his driveway.

"Why are we at your house?"

"I lied," he grinned. "No dinner, just snacks and movies with me."

This wasn't an uncommon thing. Tyler had done the right thing and got his mom some help. She had been Completely sober for about a year now, and Tyler had moved back in with her at the end of junior year.

I smiled, unbuckling my seatbelt and getting out of the car.

"Well, what are you waiting for?" I called, skipping towards his front door.

....

Two hours later, we had finished our first movie and were cuddled on Tyler's couch together, about to start the next one.

I reached for the next movie, preparing to get up and put it in, but Tyler gripped my waist, holding me in place. He pulled me back to him and started kissing my neck.

I climbed onto his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him. In no time at all, my stomach was turning with butterflies and started to burn with heat. He bit my lip, asking for entrance inside my mouth, and I happily obliged.

After a few minutes of heavily making out, Tyler reached for my shirt, attempting to pull it over my head.

"Not tonight, you idiot!" I hissed, pulling it back down. "Your mom is asleep in the other room! Do you realize how embarrassing it would be if she caught us?!"

He chuckled at my panic, and kissed me again.

I pulled away from him but smiled nonetheless, pleased at the way everything had turned out. It had been almost a year and a half since we had first started dating, and I couldn't be happier.

High school might be over, but Tyler and I still have our whole lives ahead of us.
