Minutes before everything ends, beliefs are the only thing that humans hold onto. Realists accepted their fate, theists prayed to their respective gods and rest simply continued to panic unlike my stance on this incident. My emotionless countenance, devoid of dismay, interested the skyjacker in me, "No worry ?"

"Why would I worry for others when they are not my friends," a cold thought appeared ! "I figured, if death is imminent, then may I ask your name ?" I clarified.

"Hamid. What is your name ?" he began socializing, probably revealing his true name.

Immediately my self-declared friend politely interrupted to give free advice to skyjacker, "<<Agar Qhudah ke pyare ho tum, toh jannat zarur milega, lekin iss harqat ki zarurat qiun hain>>," relating the inevitability of attaining heaven to the love of God for humanity.

Before Hamid could ponder on that, our floater descended to lowest level, bringing us close to the literally breathtaking finish point. The air pressure outside had increased, so were the blood pressure inside and oxygen masks started dropping down for the expected last few moments of life.

Through the window, I got a clear view of approaching the city aground. An array of tiny infrared lights were being lit intermittently along the edge of the floater's wings. As the final moments arrived, all of us heard the sudden boom of thrusters and the floater elevated above to its predefined altitude and turned back from the schemed collision path !

"Abdul, <<andar kya hua ? Cockpit ka darwaza khol>>," shouted Hamid. Taken aback by the miracle at the nick of time, he raised his gun and ran towards his accomplice.

"<<Yeh, autopilot mein chala gaya aur manual reset fail kar raha hain>>," Abdul came out terrified.

Hamid pointed the gun at Abdul's chest with an obvious sudden distrust oozing out, "<<Sach sach bata, toone kya kiya ?>>"

Abdul advocated for himself, asking Hamid to verify the irreversible autopilot mode. Stupefied at what was happening, both of them came out of cockpit and heavily threatened and bullied the pilot who consistently pledged for his innocence. Hamid cluelessly groped amongst the audience faces to make a connection. Realists were astounded, theists thanked their gods and rest were still recovering from the shock unlike my reticent visage.

"<<In sha allah, jaan lelunga>>, if you do not tell what is happening," Hamid threatened me with his six inches pistol.

I did not want to take the matter to worse. "It is not me. Just that Luftschutz has kicked in," I divulged the information.
