|THE NEW AND THE CLASSICS|

"Snow, snow, and more snow? Will it ever stop?!"

•°•°•

"Edward." Alice glared at her brother who wouldn't shut up about how 'stupid' the movie, Frosty The Snowman was. "Shut up. This is the, like the twentieth time I've told you." He rolled his amber eyes before letting his back fall flat against Daniella's pink sheets, breathing softly as he relaxed. Daniella sat in between the two on her bed, a soft grey blanket wrapped around her body and a bag of grapes sitting in front of her. Alice was beside her, a pillow close to her chest that she hugged while her toes were wiggling close to the end of the bed as she waited for her raspberry colored nails to finish drying.

Together the trio continued watching the old but memorable movie that Daniella adored for as long as she could remember. The blond tossed a purple, plump ball in her mouth as she glanced at her own toes that were painted with a medallion color, a favorite of hers. "I always thought Frosty was adorable," Daniella commented as she watched Santa come onto the screen and her lips tugged upwards.

"He is!" Alice jerked her head towards her before jerking it back to the TV screen. "A classic, actually. He is one of my favorites." To this, Edward surprised a groan as he checked his watch to notice it was rounding towards ten and he felt his throat burn slightly. He needed food and he needed it soon. The burning was subtle, he noted inside his head and soon he let his power leak onto Alice who also had the same burning feeling. The hunger that resided within them and the hunger that no ordinary human would ever know. But Edward had a feeling that the girl he laid next to may know that feeling one day.

Sitting up, he excused himself and left the room and as he entered the hall, he listened for Daniella's sister, who from the soft snores he heard, was asleep in her dream world. Then, with the speed he was reborn with, he was out of the house in an instant and he knew he had to make this trip quick and he quickly sent a message to Alice as he ran past the trees that were around the apartment complex.

Stay with her. Distract her from her questions about him and my whereabouts.

Alice was doing her job right after that and her amber eyes drifted from the screen to look towards her friend to see her eyelids drooping. She grinned to herself, already on the verge of sleeping. Edward grinned also, jumping over a log that had snow coating it and soon he reached the mountains and could hear the noises of sleeping lions. His meal was found and as he was about to jump high and catch them, a voice broke through the air.

"Coming for a midnight snack?" Emmett grinned at his brother, his arms folded against his chest and the white snow contrasted with his dark hair and a leather jacket. "Mountain lions are on the menu?" The boys laughed, the joyous noise echoing through the forest and Edward slapped a hand on his back.

"Maybe, just a bit hungry and I had to escape from my little date," Edward explained, glancing back to where he came from. Emmett followed his gaze before quirking an eyebrow at the vampire. "We came from Dani's."

Emmett smiled at that. "I wanna know her more." He admitted after that, looking down at the snow that almost matched his skin. "Rose isn't too sure about it all, she's worried about me leaving her, but then again, she says she wants me to be happy with my true mate. It confuses me sometimes and I really do love her, she's a ripe apple, b-but then you have Daniella. I don't know what made me addicted to her so quick; her stunning eyes or her tiny voice - Jesus does it make me melt." The man looked up to see if Edward was even paying attention as he spilled his feelings about the girl and he looked to find Edward smirking widely. He continued, "She's not my blood singer, no, no, but I'm starting to grow on the idea that you, Alice, and Jasper brought up: Daniella was - no is my mate."

"Come and get out of your seat then." Edward chimed as he watched a bird fly off under the moon's light. "When we have school again, or even when we visit her like we did tonight - Alice and me - join us. She's crawling slowly out of her shell and it's best if you do too. I know how Rose is, she can be a drawn card - you never know the answer - but you must try. And knowing Rose, she could never hate such a girl like Daniella Morgan. The girl is too delightful to ever hate."

Growing strength in him, Emmett hugged the boy before running down and deep into the forest to search for food and Edward was fine giving him that alone time. Instead of standing tall and lengthy as he was, he crouched down and let his fangs be exposed before he jumped, his hands digging into the mountains' cold and rough exterior. Then, with speed and strength only his kind could hold and possess, he was flying up the mountain and heading towards his late-night snack.

With tired blue eyes, Daniella sipped her water as she watched Summer dance around the kitchen, her braids bouncing along as she moved around the stone, hissing when the grease of the pan smacked against her skin and left a stinging sensation. It was the morning after Edward's and Alice's intrusion into her bedroom last night and as much as she was scared at first, she was glad she could watch Christmas movies and paint their nails as they sang - even Edward - along to the famous song Frosty The Snowman.

However, it left her lost and tired in the morning. Sure, they didn't stay up too late and she had accidentally fallen asleep while Alice looked through her closet, but the brunette didn't mind and slipped through her window so she could feed. But she did slip a note that Daniella found amusing about how the two should do a mall trip during the break. As she thought about winter break then as she sat on the wooden chair, she realized that it was this Thursday. Winter break was coming soon and she was beyond relieved.

A break from school was something she definitely needed and she was glad that today was announced as a snow day.

"No school means no working at the diner for me," Summer announced, turning off the snow and turned to face her sister. "That means I get to spend the day with my little baby sister."

"Hurray!" Daniella cheered sarcastically earning a smack to the hand as Summer place breakfast in front of her. The older sister huffed as she took a seat, chugging down half her water before she could even dive into the omelet that she made for the both of them. It was a gift that she could cook, she learned from the lovely men and women down at Duncan's Diner and she was beyond relieved that she could use it to prepare some of Daniella's favorite meals.

"Oh, come on." Summer pointed her fork timidly at her younger sibling before stabbing it in her food. "Hanging out with me is so much fun, like uh, we can fish out the VHS box and find some good movies. I can grab the ice cream and snacks. We can do all sorts of stuff inside here-" her eyes narrowed on the snow which was still rising higher as the hours passed, "-while the snow buries us. I swear this winter is being so harsh, a bully, I should say." Daniella agreed mutely as she sipped her water, but then a knock echoed through the home and she stood up from her seat to go answer.

She was surprised to find the whole Cullen Clan outside of her home, all with different emotions written on their faces, but each one wore winter clothes and amber eyes. "Did you miss us?" Alice said with jazz hands before gesturing to the rest of her family. "Everyone came along to see if you would join us in the fun down there in the snow." Before the sleepy teenager could reveal an answer, Summer came bustling in by the door and looked at them all.

"Oh, shit. Dani get back, they're carolers."

Rolling her blue eyes, she squeezed herself back into the frame and gave the family a shy look. "May I play in the snow with my friends, Sum?" Said girl looked between the family and her sister, an interesting look falling on her face. She didn't realize that these people were her sister's new friends and in an instant, Daniella was kicked into her room with orders to get warm clothes on and she did just that. She sprinted out the door and grinned at her friends, well some looked at her, except for Rosalie who had a pained face as she looked to the side, her red coat catching the white sprinkles of snow.

Jasper's voice drawled everyone's attention as they all looked down below to find him on the bottom level with a mischievous grin and a snowball tucked in his mitten-clad hand. "Shall we begin?" That's when Edward cursed as a ball was thrown at his head and he too ran down the stairs to fight his brother who was quickly collecting another ball. A fit of giggles escaped from Daniella and soon she was making her way towards the stairs.

But a hand took hers.

She looked up with wide blue eyes at Emmett who had a soft smirk on his lips. His golden eyes gestured towards the icy steps. "Gotta be careful. Wanna go together? I wanna make sure you don't fall and get hurt and all." If the boy could still blush, he would out of nervousness and embarrassment, but when she tightened her hold on his white gloves, his fears dissolved and together they walked down the steps. Rosalie watched from her spot next to Alice, her eyes burning, though she hadn't shed tears in many years.

"I hate this," Rosalie whispered weakly to her sister as the two made their way down the steps. Alice, letting her excitement settle down, looked at Rosalie and noticed just how sad the girl really was. "I mean, I love him with all my heart and I want him to have this, i-it's just hard to explain..." The immortal with the pixie cut silently pulled Rosalie into her arms and made sure that she was surrounded by love. She needed it horribly.

Her frown deepened. "And she's perfect for him and I can tell how much he cares for her despite knowing her for such a little time. I want this for them, I really do, but I can't help but find myself locked in a cell with gloom and jealousy."

After a moment, they pulled away and Alice looked at her with calm, amber eyes. "It's part of being who we are."

"Hideous creatures."

Alice shook her head. "No, no, we may be who we are - vampires - but are human selves still linger in us. We still have our senses and feelings and thoughts. And it's normal for anyone to feel jealous and especially in a situation like this." Her hands fell on Rosalie's arms and soon she turned the girl to face the rest of the family who was having an enthusiastic time with their newly made friend. Daniella's squeals echoed through the air as Jasper picked her up and shielded her away from the snow that Edward and Emmett threw.

Rosalie grew a small smile. "I just want my monkey man to be happy and safe." Jealousy still swarmed in her body alongside her fears, but it didn't stop her as her hands dug into the snow, clumped a ball together and threw it at Edward who looked at her in shock before his feet pounded against the Earth and he chased his blond sister.

For Alice, she didn't tag into the game everyone was playing, instead she chose to watch as everyone interacted and how Emmett was always by Daniella's side. Slowly, a reassuring look grew on Alice's pale features.
"I think he'll be quite alright."
