|THE BOY IN THE WOODS|

"He didn't make a move to judge her but instead thanked her for what she did."

•°•°•

When the coven arrived back in the home, Rosalie was dragging Raven with her, explaining she needed to talk to him. Daniella, on the other hand, wondered about the two. It seemed that Rosalie was trying her hardest in a secretive way to bring Raven in with them. Sure, the man with green hair was starting to transition into their diet, but she believed that he should join them in their coven. And that was another thing; was Daniella labeled as one of them? Was she part of the Olympic coven or was she just a guest? It was odd to her, yet she decided not to focus on that but instead on her future.

A future which she didn't ask for.

A future, in which, she lives on forever with her mate. She knew at one point she would fully come to terms with herself and Emmett's choice, for now, though, she was almost there. She still cared for him like always, but he did something that made her afraid of herself and for the people around her. She was a newborn, she was a stranger to this all and she wisher she was used to it all. Practice takes time, however, and she needed to practice. She needed it so she could be safe to others.

Summer missed her and loved her and if Daniella was ever announced as dead, it would kill the oldest Morgan. The curly-haired girl already knew that when she would walk back into her apartment, the one that she shared with her sister, she would face the fire that she held within her. Possibly a few cuss words are thrown here and there and a good grounding, but overall, she would be beyond happy that her sister was safe. Well, safe in the terms that she was home again, but for the wolves, she grew worried. She may have sent that wolf off but there could always be the possibility that he could return.

"You look exhausted," Emmett muttered from behind her, placing his large, paw-like hands on her dainty shoulders. In response, she hummed before turning and looking up at him.

"I can't sleep but yeah, I feel beyond exhausted."

"Maybe it's your gift working on you," Alice guessed, swinging her arm when she interlocked her fingers with Jasper's. Amusingly, Daniella watched the interaction before focusing on the pixie-like immortal. "I mean, sometimes with Eddy, he can be tired after having to read so many minds and sometimes, in a way he can get headaches." A large, almost horrifying grin was blooming on Alice's lips. "Oh! I just can't get enough of your gift. I mean, you're a mute aka a silencer. It's beyond fascinating. What do you think Jaz?"

The blond who was by her side, the very one who was shying away from them, he looked over to Daniella and let his lips curve upwards a tiny hit. With his drawl, he whispered, "I believe she needs to learn more about it, but for how I think about it? Why I find it remarkable."

Like him, her lips curved a tiny bit. Hopefully, she could practice more with her gift and she could master something that she didn't know about yet. It would be beyond amazing in her eyes and maybe she could do more advanced things. She already had more advanced skills with her being a vampire now but maybe being a silencer could just add to it. Letting her red eyes focus away from the two, she let them fall onto her mate, Emmett who was rambling away with Edward, discussing her and her communicating with the wolves. They never saw anything like it. To Daniella, she didn't see herself as something bigger for what she did - she saw herself the same.

A shy, blond and blue-eyed girl who loved watching television and lounging around in her pajamas. "You seem to be..." Alice was behind her suddenly, startling the girl and visibly she jumped. "Hmm. I don't know how to put it but you seem to be growing closer with him." Then the short woman was shrugging. "Edward even told me that when he read his mind, he saw you Dani."

"Hey. That's private stuff!" Emmett called out, embarrassed. Yet, Alice giggled away.

Her hands grabbed ahold of Daniella's and her eyes bled into her, a smirk growing on her. "Anyhow, since Emmett isn't too happy about me revealing some things about himself. How about we do something fun today, yeah?" And before she could answer, Alice was whisking her away to her bedroom, her hands clasping together once they arrived. "Now, this is more like it!"

Daniella furrowed her brows as her mind thought over a million questions to why Alice had brought her in there, but once Alice disappeared and clothes were being thrown on her white leather chair that was placed by the window, Daniella got the idea. Instead of confusion, fear was running through her. "What..?"

"I'm not the biggest fan of these anymore," Alice explained, peeking her head out and sending Daniella a wicked look. "So, that means you can have them and I'm sure once you see Summer-" a frown formed on the newborn's lips then, "- again, she'll just adore them. I am a master of fashion and anything fashion-related after all."

"Oh, you look so beautiful, Dani." Feeling herself blush even if it wasn't possible, Daniella looked at the coat she was wearing. It was a long, plum-colored, winter coat that had fake fur trimmed around the hood. It was an old one of Alice and she thought it was best to pass it onto her friend. She knew it would be just right and when she tried it on, she was faced with something she could only find in a museum. "Shall we show Emmett?"

Her lips fell and her eyebrows rose, "Why?"

Alice thought over it for a moment before shrugging. "Well you already know of my gift: seeing glimpses of a possible future and well, in one of them I saw you two. It was... I saw you two... and you looked to be in love."

The word was absurd to her. Love? Did Alice Cullen really say, love? Sure, she loved Emmett and cared for him but by the tone, Alice spoke in and the way her features morphed into pure joy, she knew it was a different type of love. A more romantic type of love that currently, she didn't feel. Of course, ever since she met him she saw Emmett as a handsome man that both his personality and looks shared. He was easy-going, kind, warm-hearted, and was always there to comfort you in any situation. He was something different.

Tucking a golden strand behind her ear, she didn't make a move to respond back. Instead, she noticed how hungry she was becoming and dashed out of the room, leaving Alice confused and annoyed. No one else was downstairs when she exited through the back door, letting her nose smell all the gorgeous smells the outdoors supplied. Then, when the smell drifted away, her feet were pounding against the ground and she was off. All she could smell was a distant deer, the smell blurring her senses as she jumped over a frozen Creek before she came crashing down. Snow around her burst into the air and when it fell, her figure was gone and became a blur as she dived deeper into the forest.

Once she caught sight of the animal, she paused and waited for the perfect moment. Like a scene out of a movie, the deer was walking briskly over the snow, its fur contrasting with everything around it and as much as she loved the animal, this was how she needed to feed. Before she took a leap, she apologized for what she was about to do.

Then the shills from the animal tore from its throat as she captured it in her arms, preparing to sink her teeth into its flesh. Just then, a scream echoed the forest, a pained scream that made her freeze and made the deer sneak out of her grasp to run off. The scream made her worried instantly and as her eyes looked around the forest, trying to locate where the noise came from, another came and it didn't stop. Instantly, she was following where the noise came and as she arrived, she found a little boy, his arm twisted in a way that she knew he needed medical treatment. Daniella was silent as she crept towards him, her eyes and face transforming to worry and when she was inches away from him, she fell to her knees.

"Jesus, kid..." She trailed off when his head snapped to her. His eyes, so dark and clouded with fresh tears that were staining his face and the blanket of snow below them, they looked at her. He suddenly felt safe, someone found him and hopefully, she would take him somewhere warm and she could take him to a hospital. "P-P-Please, help me." His beg made her inch closer, her inner hesitation of a vampire being near a human being tossed into the deepest corner of her mind. She didn't care then if the boy would question her cold touch when she brought him into her arms. She didn't care if he would question her horrifying ruby eyes. She didn't care if he would question her inhuman speeds as she dashed towards the Cullens' home, she needed to save this kid. He was injured and needed treatment by the only doctor she knew.

Having his head stuck in a book, Jasper suddenly jerked his head up, his eyes widening.

"Jasper?" Esme gave him a worried glance when she noticed how tense he suddenly became. She placed down the duster she was holding and walked over to him, she placed her hands on his shoulders, giving them a small squeeze. "What's bothering you?" And when Daniella suddenly entered the home, a crying child held in her arms, Esme got her answer. Silence filled every immortal as they started to appear downstairs. Carlisle, bein so used to the sent of humans, inched towards Daniella and the boy.

He let his eyes settle on the child. "I'm a doctor," he explained, taking him into his arms then. "I'll help you and place a cast onto your arm."

"It hurts so bad."

Carlisle soothed him, "I know and I'll try my very best to make the pain go away." When he lifted his head, he nodded towards Daniella, signaling a thank you towards her, however, she knew he would want to talk to her later on that day. Possibly when the sun was sleeping and the moon was rising.

Then, when there were only eight immortals left in the room, Raven included, Rosalie was the first to speak up. Her voice held an edge to it as her eyes fell on the newborn. "He's from La Push, I can smell it. But let's return to the rather big topic, hm? Daniella." Guilt filled her dead heart as she lifted her eyes, looking at every Cullen and Raven. "The kid is going to question everything. I mean, you're some random woman with inhuman senses and red eyes!"

"Rose," Esme warned, giving her a look that immediately made her mouth close. "Daniella saved a life and helped a boy, I think she is a hero - not a traitor."

Edward was furrowing his brows behind Esme, causing Daniella to shift her attention on him and sending him a questionable look. Grumbling to himself, he spoke up, his voice filling the room. "His name is Sam, Sam Uley. He's a ten-year-old kid." The coven nodded before letting him continue. "From seeing what's in his mind, he lives with his mother and his best friend is Jared. He seems... I can't describe it, but there's something in there that is way too powerful for me to discover."

Listening along, Daniella hummed at that part. The powerful part was something she didn't understand but deep inside, she had a feeling that it would take time to uncover what it was. There could be a chance that it was nothing major, a small thing that wouldn't cause too much damage. Unknown to her and all of them, it was something else entirely. Sam Uley was a case that none of them knew too much about until years later when another girl entered their lives and quickly discovered who they were. But with that girl, she brought something strange to them. She would cause more destructive things than Dani did.

It would be insane.

But with that insanity would bring joy, a side of joy that no one had really experienced.

"Dani?" When Emmett got closer to her and placed a hand on the small of her back, she snapped out of her thoughts. Her blood-red eyes looked up at him. "You good? You seemed to be lost there."

Smirking, she gave him a curt nod before watching as Carlisle returned downstairs, the boy to his left as he talked to him. The boy's tears were long gone and his pain was replaced with relief, the doctor did as he had planned. He did his best to make the boy's pain go away and now, Sam was grateful for him and his actions. He healed him half way as time would have to do the rest.

Sam looked up to the girl who found in the middle of the woods, his eyes sparkling with gratitude. "Thank y-you, uh..."

"I'm Daniella." Crouching down, she became level with him and though he was confused for a moment because of her eye color, he didn't make a move to question her. "Someone told me that you're Sam, correct?"

With pure joy blooming on his features, he gave a toothy smile, amusingly with one of his front teeth missing as he did this. Daniella returned one, offering him a ride home which he immediately took. Allison Uley was probably hysterical to know where her son was at currently. So, when the two were gone and the house was filled with no humans and no newborns, Alice squealed.

"Gosh. Daniella is something else, yeah?"
