|THE SISTERS' QUARREL|

"The change of her heart both frightened her and worried her because she was someone important and now, she wasn't sure if they were the same anymore..."

•°•°•

It was obvious by the way Summer was standing at the door, her hair thrown into a messy bun at the top of her head, a pair of sweats and a matching green hoodie hugging her body while a black winter coat was layered on top. Her feet, covered by a pair of old snow boots, were freezing despite the warmth they promised. And her cheeks usually colored a pale color and had freckles sprinkled all across them were burning a red color that reminded many of the cold weather outside. But what stood out the most was her heavy breaths and tear-filled eyes as she stared at Esme. She was here for her, her own little sister.

She licked her thickly chapped lips. "W-where's Daniella?" The question made them both frown and without saying anything, Esme moved to the side, opening the door wide for the girl. Remorse filled her as she secretly watched her waddle inside, her body shaking harshly from the atmosphere. "Where the hell is my sister, Mrs. Cullen?"

Esme was quiet as a mouse as she wandered closer to Summer, easing off her coat which the girl watched her warily as she did that. "You know," Summer spoke up, her eyes narrowing in a comical way as Esme fetched a throw blanket off the couch and replaced it where her coat was once situated on her, "your family is quite odd."

Hearing this made Esme's lips curve upwards. "But being odd is rather fun, Summer." Then her smile fell into a frown. "Daniella is away in Alice's room, she doesn't want to be near us under the circumstances." Somehow, Summer could see straight through her and her own lips fell into a scowl.

"Listen, I know something is odd with your family and something tells me it has to do with you all being a mythical creature." In shock, Esme stared at Summer with wide, golden eyes and her body slacked. "You're a wonderful woman, Mrs. Cullen, but I'm not dumb. I know and I'm starting to really, truly believe that you're a vampire, actually, your whole family is vampires, correct?" Esme remained silent, adding to Summer's burst of encouragement. "Now how would you think I would feel knowing my sister is here, staying with all of you?" Summer slowly trailed up to Esme until their faces were just centimeters apart. "I don't feel comfortable with my sister, who I don't believe one bit is sick, being here with all of you. So, please, for the love of God, tell me where she is!"

After that, Esme began to speak once again. Her eyes held something that told Summer that she was right - the Cullens were something else. "I get how you feel and Daniella like I said, is in Alice's room." With her golden eyes, she watched as the woman stalked upstairs in search of her sister. But once her figure was gone, Edward was by his adoptive mother's side, anger looming in his bones. "How is everyone in this damn place finding out? We're going to have to leave, Esme."

The older woman sighed and looked up at him. "It's up to Carlisle but I have a feeling that we might just have to do that."

Upstairs, deep in Alice's room, Daniella was going insane. Her sister couldn't see her, not yet and not for a while. So as Alice desperately tried to calm her down, the blond was running around the room, muttering how she was going to expose their big secret, yet unknown to them, Summer already knew. Alice quickly stopped Daniella in her tracks, her small hands firm on her shoulders as she drawled her attention to herself. "Calm down, woman. We'll get through this." She rose one hand and pointed to the leather ottoman in her room, "Sit there." And in flash, she was gone and returning with a pair of pajamas. "She'll be here in around five seconds so do me a favor and put these on." The lat thing Daniella wanted was Summer walking straight in on them so she was quickly throwing off her clothes and throwing on the new ones instantly. Alice turned the other way, watching the door with a fierce look, listening to Summer's steps. She could even determine how she was acting due to how hard she was pressing her feet with each step she took.

"I'm ready," whispered Daniella, playing with the ends of the shirt. "I'm guessing you don't have any contacts on you?" She already had a feeling they didn't and with Alice's soft 'no' she had to deal with what she had.

It was tense when the knock came, it was hard and hurried since Summer was anxious. Breathing in a shaky breath, Daniella nodded and the door was swung open. Summer didn't waste a chance and walked inside, sending a glare into Alice's direction but the girl's face didn't change but stayed the same: almost a boring look. Looking forward then, her eyes softening onto her sister, she walked but stopped abruptly. "Get your ass up," she rolled her wrist in a beckoning motion.

Daniella expressed a dumbfounded look. "I-I'm sick, Summer!"

Like the Cullen in the room, her face didn't change and she rolled her wrist again. "I'm not stupid and honestly, I'm not stupid to believe that you're supposedly sick and that chick over there is a damn vampire."

By the door, Alice's eyes widened and she silently knew that the Volturi would possibly get involved in their lives once again; too many humans were discovering who they were. First, it was Daniella, then Summer. It was like a pattern and everyone wanted it to end quickly and easily so no problems would emerge, but problems seemed to already be appearing. "Vampires are just myths-"

"Bullshit," Summer cut in, her head snapping to her. Her eyes burned into Alice, "Just shush it, Tinker Bell." Alice rolled her eyes at the nickname and chose not to retort back, she watched Summer and Daniella instead.

Summer narrowed her eyes on Daniella before they widened when she noticed her sister's new eye color. She could barely speak, the worst ideas were floating her mine and all Daniella could do was look away, a guilty look forming on her. "No..." Summer breathed, her eyes watering. "You're one of them now, aren't ya'?" Summer was clearly pissed and heartbroken which caused Daniella's dead heart to be torn into a million shreds. It caused her eyes to water, yet nothing wet fell from them and stained her cheeks. It caused her voice to be lost as Summer continued to stare at her, a disappointed look consuming her face. Turning into a vampire wasn't her choice, though, it was Emmett's doing.

But the newborn didn't want to blame him so in the end, as she sat there on the ottoman while her eyes were trained on her sister, she blamed herself. She was the one who was stupid enough to walk through a blizzard and it was her fault for running after Emmett on her own. "Summer, you need to stop," Daniella spoke softly, her figure becoming tense. "Please, just leave the room and we'll talk, okay?"

That didn't sound so good to Summer on the other hand and she stayed the same: starring at her sister with a dark look. She wouldn't budge. Because of this, Daniella rose to her feet and decided it would be best to gently push the woman out of the room, which was surprisingly easy with the new powers that she gifted with by being a vampire. It was a struggle at first; Summer was bubbling out curses and trying to get herself out of her younger sister's control, though she realized it was useless. When Summer was left outside, Daniella was hurrying to toss her clothes back on while Alice rambled on about being called Tinker Bell.

"Do I really look like a fairy?" Alice questioned herself, picking at the ends of her hair before looking at Daniella, finding her already dressed and nervous. "I'm worried that the Volturi will have to speak to us about so many people knowing about the secret world."

Daniella gave her a muddled look. "The who now?"

Waving her off, Alice turned to the door and swung it open once again, ushering Daniella out before she closed the door behind them. Summer was outside waiting for them, Jasper was by her side, a worried look on his face that he sent off to Daniella and Alice; what was going on? He could feel how infuriated the woman was from his room and he decided it was best to check on her and when he arrived, she wouldn't stop sputtering out curses. It made him wonder why she was upset, but as he was about to ask, the girls appeared.

"Okay, you and me downstairs," Summer ordered, grabbing her sister's wrist, but she suddenly pulled away with an audible gasp. "What the hell is up with you? Y-You're different, Dani!"

"Summer, I'm not that different. Please, if you let me explain-"

"You don't have to explain. I know you're one of them. You're a damn vampire!"

"Excuse me," Carlisle's voice calmed the room instantly. His figure, covered in a jet-black turtleneck and a pair of slacks, fell into the room, his walk was brisk and caused everyone to still. His eyes fell onto Summer and he sent her a warm smile. "Miss. Morgan, please, what seems to be bothering you? I know it has to do with your sister staying with us during this storm, but what else?"

She flared her nostrils. "I know what you all are, fuckin' vampires! Don't act all sweet to me. You're all monsters that everyone is terrified of and now, you made my own sister into one. Did she ask to be one? Or did you hold her down and sucked her dry, huh?" A venom-filled laugh escaped her lips and she pointed a dry finger at Carlisle. "You're all sick. Daniella, come on, we're going home." The newborn felt lost when Summer eyed her, waiting for her to follow her and like a pup with her mother, she followed along with her head held low. How was she going to survive? The scent of Summer's blood was already driving her mad - the scent was beautiful and it made her want to drink her up but she couldn't. This was her sister and she had to stick to her diet. As the two descended down the stairs, something pulled her back and she found a hand connecting with her own.

Everything seemed to freeze as her red eyes slowly rose to see Emmett glaring at her sister, a fuming aura radiating off of him. The teenager didn't dare to speak and let Emmett take the stand. Pushing her behind him, he inched closer to the human. "Don't even think about taking her."

Shocked, the oldest Morgan shouted, "Excuse me?! She is my sister, asshole."

Emmett's demeanor didn't change as he got closer to her, overwhelming her was his goal and when she backed away, he was winning. This was a game of cat and mouse now to Daniella's eyes and she felt hopeless. She didn't know why Daniella was suddenly hating on the Cullens and her, but what Emmett was doing was something she was thankful for but he shouldn't do it like this. He should talk things out.

More so, she should talk things out. Daniella knew she needed to talk to her sister and not hide up there where her feelings were confusing her. So, letting bravery fill her body, with the help of Jasper Hale himself, she took a stance by her mate, narrowing her eyes slightly at her sister.

"Summer, for the love of God, please calm down so I can talk to you." And with her gift being used, Summer was following the order the mute gave and grasped her hand once the youngest one came by her side. After that, the walked side-by-side, down the stairs and towards the front door before Daniella was picking up Summer and the Morgan sisters disappeared.

"She can't handle being with a human," Edward blurted, giving Emmett a look. "It's best if you follow after. They're heading towards their apartment." And just like the sister's Emmett was by the front door before disappearing in a second, vanishing from his home. The coven fell into a stressful silence, all of them praying and hoping that things would go soothingly at the apartment and that hell wouldn't happen. The change of heart that Summer had made, made them all confused and they hoped, with everything that their silent hearts could produce, that Daniella would be accepted by her. She was the only blood family she had left, though she didn't realize it, the Cullen Clan were also her family.
