"Time. All we had left was time, and within time, we'll make memories. Memories full of emotion."

•°•°•

Sometimes, fear could make some feel joy.

Daniella sat down on the kitchen counter, watching as the clock above the archway ticked closer to three, which made her silent heart vibrate. Her feet were bare as she swung them, gently banging them against the wooden drawers below her. Her clothes from earlier still remained, yet she chose to throw on an old shirt. One that belonged to Summer. For why she was feeling joy was blamed on the memories that started to replay in her mind.

Her mother, father, Summer, all of them enjoying the life of being a family. There was one, one memory that stuck out to her the most. It felt like yesterday as the family of four resided inside of an old diner, letting their mouths enjoy the sweetness of the frozen custard called icecream. Daniella distinctly remembers eating strawberry with chocolate chips embedded into the soft dark-colored sweet. Phoebe, her mother would take a napkin and swipe at her chin, laughing as she explained to eat carefully. Her father, the man who was balding and holding a pair of red, circular glasses on his face reached over to Summer, tugging her blonde waves behind her pierced ears. It was peaceful.

So, so peaceful.

Now here she was, looking down at her feet while her back and body trembled. She couldn't cry. It was physically impossible now. Sometimes, fear could make you feel blue. Deeply, though through the past months she tried to come to terms, she hated this life. She hated being an immortal, a vampire. She didn't like being cold like a dead body that she was. She didn't like the idea of watching everyone she knew die slolwy before her. She didn't like this. How was it even possible for her to change? Wasn't she dead when Emmett changed her?

The idea was discarded quickly when Emmett entered the room, his face twisting into concern as he bounded forward to his mate. Her hands rested on his chest, keeping him still from moving forward. Slowly, she rose her head to look at him. Gold meeting gold. Concern meeting dread. "Please, I don't always need to be held," she gasped, blinking quickly to wash away her tears. That was another thing she hated, not having the ability to feel tears fall across her cheek on to the floor below her.

Emmett was hesitant but complied with her wish. He stood back, keeping his eyes only on her as she quickly composed herself, curling her hands into her jeans. The fabric bunched together as she took a deep breath. To herself, she wondered where everyone else was. But with how they brought the Denali coven into their home, she knew the Cullens were most likely discussing the details of everything. Daniella pushed herself off the cool counters, fall briskly to the floor. She didn't dare to touch him and he was fine with that. He wanted her to be comfortable and to take things into her own hold.

Yet he still spoke. "If I could, I would beat their asses to the ground." A smile, a small smile crossed her lips and she rolled her eyes at him. Maybe his playfully attitude could come handy in dark times.

Her voice was softer than a flower's petal, "You're a true comedian, aren't you?" Then her frown returned and she slouched slightly, walking over to the archway and leaving to drift away into the living room. Her body acted like a ghost, swiftly she dove between furniture before crashing on the couch like a boulder. There, she laid flat, her limbs sprawled across the white, cold leather. The boulder-resembling boy stood behind the couch, watching her with a blank expression.

"We're not going to die, if you think that's happening." He placed his large hands on the couch, making Daniella wonder if he was possibly a bear too - not just an immortal. Her amber eyes lifted to see his smirk. Quickly as she looked up, she looked away to focus on the three, equally blonde and beautiful sisters that entered into the room.

Kate, Irina, and Tonya had looks on their faces. Each one of different. Irina held a grunge, unsure of what to do with this situation. Daniella guessed Irina didn't want to be brought into situation, so guilt fell onto Daniella's frail shoulders. Beside Irina stood Tonya who looked fearful, yet determined. Her eyes, golden and shimmering to it all. Then there was Kate who looked... lost. She stared blankly at the wall, chewing on her lip as memories bubbled in her mind, making her chewing become more stressed. Her eyebrows furrowed together and she fidgeted in her spot. They looked so alike, but their emotions held a contrast between them.

The only dark-haired vampire in the room caught everyone's attention with a loud clear of his throat. All their eyes fell onto him. "Carlisle explained the situation, huh?" Carefully, the three sisters nodded. "And I hope you know that this was an accident. This accident will lead to whatever shit that will happen soon, but we'll he prepared. Daniella is special, holding a gift that may please the Volturi."

This caught the attention of Kate who shot a look towards the curly-haired girl. In a flash, she was in front of the girl and studying her as if she was a statue inside an art museum. "What is your gift? Telepathy? Ability to control the-"

"-silence." And as if Daniella had a thread and a needle in her hands, Kate's lips were sewn shut. Muffles came from her, both full of confusion and excitement, and when she clasped Daniella's wrists, that's when she became confused. Well, until sparks filled her body and she squealed, pushing herself off the woman. "Speak!"

"Damn, woman," Kate chuckled, noticing how shocked and bewildered Daniella became. Extending her arm, Kate pulled Daniella onto her two feet and examined her to only find no injuries. "Sorry, I guess I should've gave a heads up. But that gift, interesting, interesting." Suddenly, she pulled away and smiled through her worry at Daniella, clearly interested in the female. Curling a finger around her hair, she begged for her to use her power once more.

So that's how Emmett found himself surrounded by four women, with his mate being in front. He liad back in a chair, his demeanor relaxed, yet he was silently screaming in cautiousness in the inside. Daniella smirked at the three women, watching as they grew more intrigued as the seconds passed. "My]]p]p powers o-or gift is fairly easy to use," she mumbled, patting Emmett on his jean-clad leg in comfort. "I can silence others and, kind of cool, I can make others say what I want. So..." she trailed off and clasped her hands. "Emmett," she began slolwy, "do you love me?" She waited, watching as sweat collected on him, yet it never truly showed. He was a vampire afterall. It obvious that he was fearful to answer.

"Oh," Irina whispered, growing amused. "Now this, this will be fun. Could you possibly pull this on my mate?" Daniella looked back at her, smiling before looking at Emmett once more.

Her lips curved into a vicious grin that made Emmett struggle to keep calm. He was seeing a completely different side of Daniella Morgan. Inching closer, she whispered one word, "Speak the truth."

"Y-yes," he grunted, watching as she bloomed a goregous smile that made his solid and cold heart flutter almost. For a long time, the two knew that they loved each other, yet they never dared to say it out loud. Their actions proved it. They were in no relationship, only enjoying the idea of being close friends and that was common. Friends loved each other.

A chuckle fell from her lips. "Good thing I love you too, Em." And she placed her hand out for him, feeling his large one cradle hers as he stood up, towering over her and three other girls. He was showing embarrassment, but relief as she uttered it back. I love you, he thought. She said it back. The Denali coven spoke in hushed tones by them, showing amusement. All of them showed amusement, the idea of the Volturi being shoved into the back of their minds as they stood amongst each other. They created memories that Daniella cherished.

Yet it had to come to an end when they heard the clock dinged five times in a row, making all of them stiffen. Time was closing in on them. Daniella felt Emmett tighten his hold on her hand, holding her closer to him. The Denali sisters looked at each other, their eyes holding a story that Daniella didn't have enough time to read.

Suddenly, Jasper Hale was walking into the room, Alice on his tail. The small woman peaked from behind, smiling sadly at then group of five. "One hour." Jasper laced his fingers with Alice, smiling softly at his mate before frowning suddenly, whispering close to her ear before pulling away. Daniella guessed that it was due to Alice still holding her excitement, only with worry falling in with her joy. A frown was growing on her lips and made her eyes trail away from him. Guilt. There it was again. Beautiful, radiating guilt. It fell onto her shoulders, maks her sulk forward. She wondered if anyone else noticed how much guilt she was feeling.

Jasper noticed and quickly sent a wave full of tranquil, watching her carefully to see if his gift worked. It did, only slightly. She stood straighter once more, for a feeling entered her body, her home. "Thank you," Daniella whispered, clutching her free hand on her shirt. The fabric felt odd on her. She felt odd overall. It was due to what events would take place soon and as she let her eyes wander up to the clock, she made note that this could very possibly be her last time with them. With her family.

Then she pulled her hand away Emmett. Her eyes flashed over to Jasper and Alice. To Emmett. To Tonya, Irina, and Kate. To the clock. To her hands. Finally, her voice fell, "Summer." It was as if she breathed her name, her breath was rushed, it was urgent. Emmett knew instantly and reached for his keys out of his left, back pocket. Pulling them, he used his other hand to pull Daniella with him and towards the front door while the rest of the household watched in wonder. Then when the door slammed, Alice gasped, clutching Jasper tightly.

"Vision," Edward blurted, eyes widening intensely. He came to his adoptive sister's side, trying to read her mind. She was at loss, her eyes being coated with a thick layer of fog. She was blind to the real world, blind to Edward searching her mind and blind to Jasper who clutched her tightly in his hold. "It's hard..." Edward trailed off just as Alice gasped once again, returning to reality.

"They aren't coming to here anymore," Edward chocked which made Carlisle come to his side, demanding an answer. Edward answer away, "They have her scent. Her scent, hell. What?" He questioned to himself as he searched Alice's mind, only finding the repeat of someone bringing down a door floating in her conscious. "Apartment twelve."

"Oh no," Rosalie breathed, quickly leaving the home to follow after Daniella and Emmett. It left the rest of them in confusion, specifically Esme and Carlisle as they held each other firmly.

"Apartment twelve?" Esme questioned, looking at her children for an answer. "Who lives in apartment twelve?"

Poor Alice. All eyes were on her as she fumbled with the tips of her dark, dark-colored hair as a habit. Her heels clicking together as if she had a pair of ruby slippers on her dainty feet. Attention was all on her and it took a lot of courage for her to look up at them. "Apartment twelve, that-that's Dani's home." And suddenly a rush of wind smacked her as everyone left, all except Raven who came in from the back door, blood droplets falling from his chin.

  "What'd I miss?"

A/N: Yes, Daniella and Emmett love each other as friends. They still don't hold feelings for each other yet, but they do know that Dani is his mate. It doesn't automatically make them fall in love and marry. But anyhow, I hoped you enjoyed this chapter!!
