|THE PARTNER IN THE CASE|

"He stood there with red eyes that were leaking with something that made trepidation roll up your spine..."

Her blond curls were tied to the back of her hair and her hands got to work as she sorted through her papers. The sun was hiding that day behind the clouds and she had to look at the clock many times to make sure it still wasn't night time. Besides, the teenager was up and at it last night after the Alice's words plagued her mind in a way where all she could focus on was those cold faces that the book spoke about. Daniella really didn't know how to feel. Curiosity was there, fear mixing along with it, but the excitement of knowing there is another being out there, well if she would call the family yet.

In her mind, she could understand that if this was exactly true, she knew why they would keep it secretive. The world would erupt in fear and horror to learn that vampires exist. They dine on blood and live on forever. They had special abilities that a normal human could never hold. The list goes on and on and it made her head spin. So she got up after she gathered the papers up, she stacked them on the desk before tucking them away in her drawer for use later on in her interesting spin on life.

Summer had gone to work that morning so Daniella found herself alone, she decided to use this time to work more on her curious feelings. She, herself, felt like a scientist almost, a mad one at that. Here she was putting all her effort in for a silly theory and she still kept that judge on herself; why was she making assumptions on the family? In her eyes they were lovely in their very own ways and she adored how they all accepted her and brought them into their world so easily. As the blond thought this while working on making herself a bowl of cereal, an idea popped into her mind that made the box slip from her grip and fall to the floor with a bang!

The Cullens caught her so easily; did this mean that instead of her being their friend, she was actually their meal? The thought made her unconsciously grow bumps across her skin. However, she shook off the thought. They wouldn't do that, right? Enchanting, was what they were and she trusted them, even though she only know less than half of who they really were. With the book, however, she believed that it possibly could he connected to some sort of truth.

Eating her ceral, she thought about tell the family, maybe she could play it off as some kind of joke. It made her feel weird believing that they were some mythical creatures that feast on blood, but it didn't scare her all that much. Sure, she could be a nervous wreck and be frightened of the smallest of things, but in this case, she felt calm. She couldn't explain it, it was just there. So, as she scooped another spoonful of her Frosted Flakes, she thought back on the more weirder side of the Cullens. Golden eyes were something they all shared along with their breathtaking, flawless skin - Daniella also thought it could be related to their skincare routine. Then there was their cold skin. The thing that would always catch her off guard.

The school would've made everyone's temperature average, but in this case, the Cullens were extremely cold. They felt like a cold statue during the winter season.

Daniella frowned at the thoughts. It was conflicting her to a point where she just felt like closing herself away from the world for a little bit. So that's what she exactly did. The blond woman found herself walking in the high grounds of the snow, her nose and cheeks colored a rose color as the cold weather pinched at her skin. Her body was covered with a beautiful green, heavy coat and a white hat covered her head while a pair of simply black boots, ones fitted for such weather, were snug on her feet. The library was just seated in front of her, she was rather glad that the library was such a short distance from her home and that feeling grew knowing the library was opened.

Inside, she was greeted with warmth as she sighed as she wandered away and off towards the books. More specifically, the ones centered around a certain myth, or even a possible real being. Her delicate fingers skimmed through the shelves, her mouthing letting out the titles of each book as she made her way towards the end aisle, however, she suddenly bumped into another figure and an apology escaped her lips. "I, er- sorry!" Blushing, she looked into the familiar eyes of Andrew Raven and his face was coated with amusement. "Oh, hi Raven."

The male sent a wave, "Why hello, Morgan. Whatcha' searching for? You're in the mythology section, babe."

"I'm no babe." Daniella rolled her blue irises before returning to her search. "And I'm looking into vampires, sir. I-I'm interested in the topics." Deep down, she hoped he would laugh and wouldn't question her desires. All she wanted was some answers for the questions that plauged her mind and well, Andrew Raven was known for being a Sherlock Holmes type of person. His reputation in the school was known for supporting wild hair colors and the rumor that he took many girl's v cards. Daniella wondered if the student would just try to do that her. Play her in his stack of cards until he placed her personally in his pocket. "Vampires?" He wondered out loud.

"Yes," she nodded slowly, her eyes wavering on him and surprisingly, the green-haired boy did let out a laugh or even a snort, he just grinned. He always seemed to be grinning and she wondered why. "Does that matter to you?" Her eyes locked with his and suddenly, she noticed something new about the boy that made chills crawl up her skin. Red eyes, almost a ruby color, was now replacing his old green eyes - this was uncommon. Just like the Cullens shared; uncommon traits that any human shared. Quickly, looking away, she dismissed the thoughts and grabbed a random book, one filled with information about the creatures.

"Nah," Raven shrugged, plucking out a book similar to hers. "Just wanna see if I can have a reading buddy, hm?" She thought about it for a moment, the idea of sitting at a table with an interesting character that reminded her, by looks, of the Joker. However, it was later on that morning that she found her head stuck in a book and her hand writing notes while Andrew Raven watched her with wide, ruby eyes as she worked a marathon. The blond was at it, writing key elments that would help her crack down the case with her now partner; Andrew Raven.

To him, he wasn't worried about the woman to locate the truth in this world, all he wanted was control his damn self as her blood's scent lifted up to his nostrils and made him grip his only book tightly, almost forcing the item open. It was intoxicating, especially when she placed her book down, stretching her arms up to the ceiling as she took a deep breath. With everything he had in him, he wanted to take her somewhere private and slam his fangs into her soft skin, drinking her sweet nectar. But he couldn't. She didn't deserve that. Andrew was still haunted by the fact he had done that to a poor, homeless man just hours away, well for him it was just seconds. He didn't understand what had happened to him - it was so quick. One minute he was walking home from smoking down at the park and suddenly a girl was at his side, grasping his arm tightly in her arms as she slammed her own fangs into his skin. In seconds, he was on the ground, crying in pain until suddenly he woke up and things were different, extremely different.

When she bit her lip, finding the most intriguing part of the book, he sucked in a harsh breath, letting his eyes dart away. As she heard him, her large, ocean eyes looked at him in interest. "Andrew?" She questioned in a worrying tone, her fingers coming to tap against his dark sweater. "Are you... Are you alright?" He nodded curtly.

Daniella sighed and grabbed ahold of her notes. "I-I learned some things. Would you like to see them?" The tone of her voice was soft and he slolwy turned his head back to look at her, his breath hitching when he saw her excitement-filled smile, Andrew nodded again. "O-oh great!" At speeds that she didn't realizing she was using, she gathered all her materials and spread them out before them. Her fingers pointed to each thing, defining what they meant while her hand pushed it aside once she was finished. Her voice was static to him as he slowly made the connections as she explained, "...then this one says their eyes are red, k-kind of like yours."

"Really?" Swallowing thickly, he picked up the note and read it himself. "Anything else that makes you believe they're real?"

As if a light bulb appeared above her head, her face lit up as she scurried around to find another piece of evidence. The idea, or more so questions about the the Cullens grew as she read more of the book and she wrote more and more. Something was off with them and as silly as it sounds, she was starting to believe that maybe the Cullens were these beings. Could they be actual vampires? She wanted an answer for her silly question. When she grabbed the paper, drinking the flimsy thing slightly, she shook it. "This also spikes my interest, or maybe desired questions. Anyway, th-this says that they are immortal, as everyone knows, but Alice said it to me, Raven. Then I found this-" she pulled out a book, one that held pictures inside of it. "Doesn't he look familiar?" Andree Raven furrowed his brows as he leaned forward to state at the piece of art.

"I may be crazy, b-but that looks like Carlisle: that's their father, Raven." The resemblance was uncanny and together, they slowly shared the same look: shock. Swallowing, Raven reached and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah, I see it, Morgan." Nodding her head, she placed her pen in her mouth, fiddling with it as she rolled her lips.

Taking another paper, she pointed roughly on the paper. "B-but this is just insane. It can't be a coincidence that this looks exactly like their dad and then it all goes into detail around red eyes and their diet, b-but..." The girl trailed off as she pointed to one certain part on the paper filled with endless notes. "Golden eyes, it says, and a diet on animals. This isn't a history book, but actually a journal."

When he set her a questionable look, silently wanting her to continue, she slammed the book on the table. The librarian was quick to silence them with a finger to her mouth and Daniella blushed in embarrassment. "Look who it belongs to." Raven took the journal in his hands and opened it up, his eyes widening as he looked who owned this.

They looked at each other and in unison, uttered, "Carlisle Cullen..."
