I thought thoroughly about Aisha's proposal. She was right I needed some assistance so by Monday I had set up an announcement for the post of a personal assistant. I had been on it till Wednesday and there was still no good news.

Aisha said she had pass by today and I was still on the interviews. I had a couple more to go through. I just hope I can get through this so we can have launch together.

Aisha

"Morning ma'am."

"Hey. Morning." I replied waiving

I was at the firm early since I had to meet JD for lunch. But that was not up until 2or 3pm and it was just 10am. Also he had the interviews for his personal assistant still going on so I guess he'll be busy reviewing the applications and been a macho to scare off the applicants. He's pretty intimidating at first site but I know he's a big bear inside. You just have to know him more. I have to admit that I'm very enthusiastic about our lunch that's why I came early and also I wanted to surprise him. I don't know why but I've started been very dependent of his presence. I guess I had grown very fond of him.

I was headed to the cafe in the building to kill time. I had no idea of how long he was going to take with the interviews. I was almost at the door when someone bumped into me and knocked us both down. The next thing was me landing hard on my ass and papers flying everywhere then a cascade of questions.

"Oh my God I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. Are you hurt? Do you need...?"

"Hey calm down I'm fine." I replied laughing a little. I looked up to meet a creamy white hand extended to me and worried green eyes. I took her hand and stood up

"I'm sorry. I'm so clumsy. I was in such a hurry. I wasn't thinking straight and I wasn't looking either... I just..." She rambled on

"It's ok I assure you I'm fine." I said rubbing her shoulder reassuringly. She didn't look familiar. I guess she's a newbie or an intern maybe.

"First day at work?" I enquired

"Well sort of. I'm not yet working here." She replied nervously

"You don't work here?" I asked with raised brows no wonder she looks so foreign.

"Ehm no. I'm here to take the interview as Mr Donovan's new personal assistant." She replied.

"Oh that's good then. When are you taking it?"

"The list is pretty long I guess I'll have to wait for an hour or two." She replied

"Then come join me. I'm meeting up with someone in about two hours too." I offered

"Oh no I've been enough of trouble to you for one day I don't want to be a burden of any sort."

"No you're of no burden to me. Besides accidents do happen. Take it from a perfectionist and worrywart." I said which made her laugh."and also I had use some company. Two hours is long as hell when you've nothing to do. Also I could help you with nerves issue with some practice." I said with a smile.

"Is it that obvious?" She asked nervously

"You continuously fiddling with your fingers, nibbling your lips and your flitting eyes. Yeah, all that gave it out." I replied.

She chuckled nervously

"I guess I could use help." She replied.

"Yeah, that's why I'm here." I gave her a friendly smile. "Let's go." I said leading her in. "Oh I'm Aisha by the way."

"Avery." She said "or Ava for short. Whichever one you had like."

"I prefer Ava." I said with a smile.

Ava and I have been on discussing and laughing. We found a lot of points in common and totally lost the notion of time. Of course I gave her some tips on how to get in Michael's good books. Yeah I had taken a fondness in her already in the space of two hours. I think we just click together. I know I mite sound bias helping her, giving her significant upper hand over the other applicants. Or may be not. Whatever the case is, I'm positive she's got a good chance of succeeding.

"Oh my I had totally forgotten about the interview." She said frantically as she looked at her wrist watch. "I need to go." She said standing up

"Sure. Fate calls."I said standing as well.

Urg that's a horrible pun

"Yeah you right." She said with a smile. "Hope it's no a bad fate." She chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of her neck."thanks a lot for everything. It was nice meeting you." She said pulling me into a hug. I was a little surprised by her action not returning the hug. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not the very affectionate or expressive person when it comes to emotions so it took time for my brain to register the action before returning it.

"See ya later." She replied releasing me from the hug and ran off bumping into another man on her way. I laughed quietly while watching her apologize to the man that just gave a glare and moved away.

"Ava." I hollered, drawing her attention. She turned back.

"Yes?"

"Keep calm." I said giving her a thumbs up and a wide smile. She nodded with a weak smile and returned the thumbs before continuing.

I like this girl. I just hope she gets lucky. I need some friends at JDs office too.

A really weird thought came up in mind about Ava, and JD and Ava getting close. You know like in this corny romance novels where the boss and personal assistant have a fling and you walk up on them, right in the act. I had an odd feeling grip my chest at that thought.

I should stop imagining things. This problem of me having a wild imagination is really messing with my head.

I glanced at my watch again and I still had some time to spare.

God! This is gonna be a long wait.....

Michael

"...Miss Haines what do you have to offer this company?" I asked the red haired girl infront of me.
She seemed kind of nervous but it's all normal. She should be after all, this is an opportunity that presents itself once in a life time and I think it also had something to do with my big stature.

"Well Mr Donovan, I believe I'm going to be a exceptional part in your team. I'm smart, I learn fast, and also I'm not cantankerous. I'm someone who also see things in a bigger plan with every project given that I've been in charge of some in my previous occupation before the company dropped for bankruptcy." she replied

"I need someone reliable at all times be it at 3:00am or whenever. Not just some robot that can perform all my request. I need someone that will go till the end of everything with me." I said. "Even through my darkest." I added. "I need loyalty."

"Then you've got the right person before you sir." She said more confidently.

Hmm confident.

I glanced through her documents again then looked at her . she chewed on her lower lip nervously. I leaned back into my chair still looking at her. I noticed she was pretty uncomfortable but did her best to keep a neutral expression. I was really quiet for some time and I guess it was really worrisome for her.

"Miss Haines.." I said

"Yes sir."

I paused for a while, narrowing my eyes at her as though trying to find a fault. I closed her file and slide another file towards her.

"You start Monday morning." I replied with a slight smile.
