           Aisha

           2:30am.

Michael pull out in the drive way of the building and turned off the engine.

"Wake up sleepy head." he whispered gently tapping me on my shoulder. I stirred up reluctantly and groaned slightly annoyed I had to wake up.  I was bit up tired.

"Why didn't you take a longer road?" I whined.

"I looked for the shortest and fasted route back to your home since you were so tired." He replied softly. I sighed and replied.

"Wrong choice." I said finally opening my eyes. " oh God. How will I survive all the way up?"

"You take the lift." He replied.

"No. It's a waste of time. I'll hit the stairs." I said."thank you Michael. It was nice." I said looking at him.

He seemed surprised I called him by his surname. Honestly, I was too tired to care about formalities. It was his name anyway. So what's the big deal?

"It's nothing. It's was nice been with you... Aisha." He said mostly whispering the last part.

I smiled at his gesture. Why is he so afraid to be friendly? He's so stucked up in his "Mr big boss" persona it's unbelievable.

"I guess." I replied.

As I was about to open the door,  he took off his seatbelt and quickly moved to my side and opened the door for me. I stepped out and nodded gratefully.

"Thank you." I said

"My pleasure." he replied as I turned away.

It's unfortunate our encounter ends here. Anyway it happens. In life there are people you come across for just a split second and it ends there. I've never been the clingy type so, it never bothered me. Nevertheless, I sort  of felt a little bit sad this ends so soon. But  what can i say, I've done my part. I've served my purpose and it ends at that. I stopped half way and said.

"Good night. I'll be hoping to see you some day."

What even astonished me most was his reply.

"I hope so too. Good night, Miss Aliyu." He said.

"Do me a favour. When next we meet, just call me Aisha. You don't need to be so formal with me." I replied "so... Until next time Michael."

"Until next time, Aisha."  he replied and I finally moved away ending our night probably for the last time. I may never see him again, or maybe we will in many years. But I don't regret our meeting together. Maybe it wasn't meant to last. Just like some one night stand. I smiled at the thought. I just had my first one night stand. Yeah, awkward right? A twenty-three years old girl who just had her first one night stand. Yeah, it sounds horribly pathetic. It seems I have no life. But hey, it's simply because I don't want to give anyone false hopes and not keep to any. Don't get me wrong, I love going out, having dates, meeting interesting people, discovering new things, adventures. But very bad in relationships. I can't stay with a guy for too long. I had feel suffocated. Not that I'm promiscuous or anything. I can't just do it. I can't reciprocate the feelings that's if the person truely feels that way. I don't really understand it so I simply stay away from it and it's complications. I like my simple life. Free, no worries. Probably it's a defense mechanism I developed.

Many men have told me that before, the  I love you sentence. But each time, it cracks me up. I always end up laughing at the end of the statement. Not that I have a deranged sense of humour, I just can't bring myself to those words. And this bad habit of mine has discouraged many because, they always feel offended that I laughed at there feelings right before them. Pouring their hearts out to me and I just rip it off and toss it in the garbage. Mean Aisha. Very meanBut I can't help it. So no judging.

I closed the door as quietly as possible as I step into our dark apartment. I guess they're both asleep. I tiptoed to the kitchen to get a glass of water. When I brought the glass to my lips, I heard footsteps.

"You're finally back." a half awake Kim saunters into the kitchen. "I thought you guys had spend the night together." she said with a goofy smile and I rolled my eyes at that. "I wasn't expecting you until ten or twelve tomorrow." she said then looked up at her phone and leaned on the counter. "Oops. Today." She said with a yawn.

"What do you take me for? I couldn't leave you guys bore yourselves alone at home till death." I said with a wink.

" Haha, I'm totally cracked up." she replies yawning again. "Back to business. Gimme the juicy part of the story."she said.

"As much as I had wish to talk, nothing out of the ordinary really happened. And whatever little part I could talk about will be only in the morning. Good night." I said moving towards my room.

"Run all you want but I'll be your alarm by morning." she replied.

"Whatever, just let me sleep. The night has been really long on my side." I said entering my room.

I quickly took off my shoes, my dress, accessories and the likes. Then I got into the bathroom and took off every single trace off make. I really didn't care at the moment, so I just got an oversized T-shirt and dived into my sheets to get some rest.

10:45am.

I hear the whispers of Toni and Kim at the door of my room but I'm too tired and lazily even to utter a single word. It's always been something inborn. By 5:00am my sleep gets light and I'm aware of every movement around even in my sleeping state.

"Don't wake her up. She was out for long and is bit tired can't you see?" Toni said.

"I'm dying of anxiety. If she doesn't tell me any time soon, I'll probably have an anxiety attach." Kim replied.

"Oh Kim!! Stop been so overly dramatic." She said. I'm very sure she rolled her eyes then. "You won't die if you wait till she's up y'know?" Toni said.

They spoke in hushed tones all the while but unfortunately or fortunately for me, my ears are the very sensitive type. So I basically heard every single word as I lay wrapped in my sheets with a frown on my face. Kim can really be so obnoxious at times.

"That's where you're wrong. If I have to wait any minute I will ...."

"You do realise I can hear you in here right?" I said cutting through her words.

"See I told you to be quiet." Toni reprimanded

"Thank goodness you're awake." Kim said ignoring Toni's earlier statement. I sat up as they moved into my room.

"Yes I'm awake. All thanks to you." I said rubbing my eyes.

"So... tell us about  your little escapade with "Mr Hot ass millionaire." She said plopping on my bed. " and don't miss any details. I mean, give me everything. Not you're your usual boring way of cutting of a story." and I raise my brow at her.

"Ok. We left, got to the party. Was very boring. With this wealthy people here and there. I kind of felt foreign especially because I wasn't familiar with anybody there." I replied.

"And what was that text about you been without him?" Kim probed."I was really worried back then."

"Nothing." I replied waving my hand dismissively. "Michael just had to have some talk with his parents. And he wasn't really comfortable with me meeting them when it was just a one night deal."

"But even still. That's so ungentlemanly of him. What if something happened in his absence." Kim retorted.

"Yeah but thanks to that I met Travis." I replied with a small smile playing on my lips.

"Oh-ho! That's where things get interesting." Kim replied with a playful grin.

"oh just shot up Kim and let her continue." Toni said.

"Well he's nice. Very nice. I really enjoyed his company. It's a shame I couldn't get his number." I said with a pout.

"Oh. Really? too bad."Kim said.

"What's for breakfast anyway?" I asked.

"You're not dawn yet." Kim complained.

"Oh let the poor girl be. She needs to eat." Toni shot back.

"Thanks Toni you're a life saver." I said gratefully.

"Yeah gang up on me. Lonely world." Kim pouted. And Toni and I laughed out loud at that.

Yeah. Typical drama Queen.
