Jungkook paced around the carousel, his hands roughly grabbing each of the poles as he went past. The unicorn's eyes were rolling around, nervously following him as harsh, sharp breaths sounded from their solid noses.

"Why has she not come?" He growled, slamming his hand into one of the poles hard enough for the unicorn attached to it to shudder violently, "She hasn't come for two nights in a row! We can't stay here much longer!"

He turned to the closest worker, who shied away from him a little at the look in his eyes, "You're sure nobody is here?"

"I'm sure, Sir," He said, his voice trembling, "It's already five to midnight, it would be too late, anyway!"

An inhuman growl rumbled up from Jungkook's throat and his eyes flashed red before he turned back to the unicorns on the carousel. It was a large machine, with Fifty spots for horses, but at this particular time, there were only forty-nine unicorns; there was an empty space that needed filling. The unicorn that had been there previously had to be replaced as it was too old and damaged. In fact, the unicorns were replaced every sixty years, at a rate of one a year. If this woman didn't come to him, his schedule would be thrown off.

He moved to his personal favourite; the one who Hana had ridden. He stood in front of her, looking down as the rays of the moon at the midnight hour fell across her and all the other unicorns. Despite his foul mood, this was always his favourite time of night and although he was angry, there was pleasure in his eyes as he watched his prizes begin to move without the assistance of the poles.

"You," He said, not even looking away as he addressed one of his workers, "Make sure she comes back tomorrow,"

"Yes, Boss,"

Jimin looked up at Hana sharply, "What do you mean, she's the unicorn?"

Hana stood up, "Can't you see? The unicorns look so lifelike! They're made from wood, but they look real, and the one I rode was warm to touch! He told me her name was Beau and-" She reached out, picking up the polaroid of Jimin's girlfriend, "She had eyes exactly like this! It was the same!"

Jimin stood up and took the picture from her, staring hard at the smiling image in front of him. He had never managed to get close to the carousel once they had left this town as he was always too late for the fair. This time, after confronting the owner, he wasn't allowed in and had to sneak in once it was dark. Even then, he didn't manage to see it, as he had seen Hana and pulled her away, out of her obsessive behaviour.

"The unicorn..." He muttered with a frown, "I don't know how it would work, but it would make sense... In a way," He looked back up at her, "I need to go and see it. I need to see the carousel and I need to see it after dark. I don't think they can leave until they have you, so you-"

"I'm going too," Hana said firmly, "I can't not go, now. What if you leave and I get overwhelmed again? The urge to go there is so strong, I can't fight it for much longer, unless I'm distracted,"

Jimin ran his fingers through his dark hair, "Then tomorrow night, we'll go," He said, "We'll sneak in after dark and look at the carousel,"

"You came over late, this time," Taehyung said, propping himself up on his elbow and staring down at the man in his bed, "Not that I'm complaining,"

The man smiled a little and sat up, reaching for a towel and wiping the sweat and mess from his body, "I had to stay at work a bit longer," He muttered.

The silence between them grew awkward, which was something that hadn't happened before, so Taehyung spoke up.

"Hoseok, are you worried about something? You're not usually this quiet. Even during the sex, you were... Different,"

Hoseok sighed and nodded, "I suppose I am," He said, "I..." He cleared his throat, "My boss wants me to make sure your friend comes back to the fair," He said suddenly, standing up and searching for his previously discarded jeans.

"Oh, has he got a crush on my Hana?" Taehyung said, wriggling his eyebrows, "Well, she is pretty, I guess, but she's a pain in the ass, seriously. I love her to bits, but my god, she's so serious,"

The man shook his head, pulling a pair of tickets out of his pocket, "I'm supposed to give these to her," He said, "Boss needs her to come again," He screwed the tickets up in his hand, "But I'm so sick of it, Taehyung," He said, sitting back down and looking at him with sad eyes, "I'm so sick of all the suffering, and the pain that they go through, and that we go through every fucking day,"

Taehyung frowned, "What are you talking about?" He said, "Pain? Suffering? What the hell is going on?! What does he want to do with Hana?!"

Hoseok pulled on his boxers and jeans, "We won't be here much longer," He said softly, "I don't care what happens to me anymore, Taehyung. I've been under his rule since I was eighteen years old. That's almost ten years of my life, gone. I don't care anymore, I just can't let it happen,"

He leaned over, kissing Taehyung gently on his lips before standing up and pulling his shirt on, "Do not come back to the fair," He said, his voice firm, "And do not let your friend step onto the grounds for any reason. Do not let her go to that goddamned carousel!"

Taehyung quickly stuffed his legs into his boxers as Hoseok left his bedroom.

"Wait!" He called, tripping after him, "You can't just say that and leave-"

"I'm sorry," Hoseok said with a sad smile, "I really love being with you, but I'm tied to that fair. I can't be with you. We will be leaving in a few days,"

"Hoseok!"

Taehyung's front door closed behind the man and he was left standing half naked in confusion.
