   Personally, she wanted to just hide from him at the moment. (F/n) refused to reply to that comment because she couldn't come up with any defense. Moreover, she didn't need to fuel his ego anymore. The male could practically use any of her statements against her and tease her with them.

So, for the moment she would glance down at her hands and ignore the fact that Edgar was now cuddling into her more. If she didn't have any self control over her actions, then she would probably be snuggling into the male as well. Of course, that would be hard given her current position.

When she heard soft breathing against her back, though, she peered over her right shoulder. Edgar had fallen asleep once more. To make the situation more permanent, his grip didn't loosen but only tightened. It was as though he knew in his sleep that she would try to get away. Thus, she mumbled a string of curse words before realizing that she had no way out of this. Well, she could always make several attempts to move Edgar's arms, but she had a feeling that those attempts wouldn't work.

With that in mind, she figured that she might as well relax and catch some sleep. Besides, she decided that being forced to sleep with Edgar on the couch was better than having to sleep next to him in his bed. If one of the house staff walked in on that, she could only imagine the gossip that would spread. Of course, she was well aware of the current whisperings that traveled around the house. All the house staff already knew about her confusing and interesting relationship with Edgar. Thus, with the consent to fall asleep, her eyes closed, and sleep overtook her.

                                                                               ~~~~~~~~~~
As shafts of morning light greeted her closed eyes and awoke her, (F/n) expected to find herself in the living room with Edgar. Rather than this, she discovered that she was in her room. She heard movement, as she blinked open her eyes slowly. There was a form over by the curtains, so she opened her eyes a little bit more and focused on the figure. Recognizing the dark brown locks and height of the individual, she instantly knew who it was. "When did you move me to my room?" she asked Edgar, as she sat up in her bed and leaned against the headboard. "I'm surprised that you didn't move me to your room, knowing that messed up mind of yours."
"It was tempting, but I thought that I would be courteous. I know that you desired to see my bed head again, so I apologize for being considerate," he remarked, as he had now fully opened the dark blue curtains in her room.
She rolled her eyes at this, but a small smile touched her lips as well. Still, she responded, "Yeah, don't let that get to your head." (F/n) noticed that he smirked a little bit, but her attention soon focused itself on the box, which was at the end of her bed. It was pale blue and had a crème colored bow. "Wait, what's the box for?" she inquired, moving a bit in her bed to get closer to it.
"The start of another surprise, so go ahead and open it. I expect you to change into it for today," he answered, as he started to head over to the room's main door. Opening the wooden object, he left the room and closed the door behind him.
After she could no longer hear his footsteps, she reached over to the box and picked it up. Leaning back against the headboard, she removed the lid and pulled away at the crème colored tissue paper. Inside, there was a soft and airy looking dress. She took the dress completely out of the box and pushed the packaging aside. Technically, she preferred to wear pants or shorts and a shirt. Still, she couldn't deny that the dress was beautiful. The way the vines and roses decorated the dress showed the evident care that was put into making the article of clothing.
Getting out of bed, she set the dress on the bed and entered the bathroom. After she finished with her morning routine, she went back into her room and changed. When she put the dress on, she sighed in relief that it went past her knees. Luckily, Edgar hadn't given her some incredibly short dress. Regardless, with the dress on, she exited her room and headed to the dining room. At least that's where she presumed Edgar to be. He had never given her an exact location where to meet him. So, soon she entered the dining room. Edgar was in his usual seat, and she took hers before noticing that there was a book on the table. Like last time, it was covered. This time it had a plate placed on top.
"Are you going to constantly taunt me with that hidden book of yours? Or, are you going to tell me what the title is?" she asked, her gaze focusing on the slightly hidden object.
Instead of answering her, he got out of his chair and went over to her. He grabbed both of her hands with his and lifted her out of her chair. Edgar took a few steps back, moving her with him. His gaze looked her over in the dress before a soft smile spread over his lips. "I knew that it would look lovely on you. The slippers don't do it justice, but without them you look incredible."
He proceeded to spin her around, which caught her off guard and nearly caused her to trip. When she managed to stabilize herself, she glared at him, but he just kept the same smile on his face. Did she really look that nice in the dress? She hadn't looked at herself in a mirror to see for herself, but she supposed that Edgar's opinion was enough for now.
"Why did you buy me a dress, though, Edgar? The trip into town was enough for Halloween."
"Oh, this wasn't a Halloween gift. I just thought that your wardrobe needed some modifications," he voiced, letting her hands go and returning to his seat.
Returning to her chair as well, she raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really? What's wrong with my clothes? They're comfortable and practical." She crossed her arms over her chest and added, "I could say the same about your style of dress. On most days, you dress down considerably. You just wear lounge pants and a t-shirt. How is that any better than how I dress most of the time?" Even at the present moment, he was wearing a navy v-neck and grey lounge pants.
"Well, the difference is that you like this look on me. Don't try to deny that fact, (f/n)."
"Are you saying that you find the way I usually dress unappealing?"
"That's exactly what I'm saying. Such clothes don't look nice on you. Or rather, they don't present you in the best light; they try to steal away your gorgeous looks. You should only wear clothes that compliment your natural beauty."
Not knowing how to reply to that response, she just huffed out in frustration. Granted, she realized that he had managed to distract her from her previous question about the book. He was at his old tricks once again. Well, she wouldn't let it slide this time. "So, are you going to show me the book or not? Don't change the subject on me again."
"I'll reveal the cover to you at the end of the day."
"Why can't you show it to me now? I don't see what's so important about waiting," she spoke, wondering what he had planned. There was something about the smirk now forming on his mouth that unnerved her. He had something up his sleeve. As usual, though, she couldn't predict what it was. "Just tell me what you're up to already, Edgar."
"I suppose that I can give you some details. We won't be working today. Since the holiday is over, the workers are taking a break, and so are we. Thus, we're going into town and spending the day together. Sending you off last night made me want to go into town and relax. Of course, I wish to do so with you. Besides, we need to update your wardrobe anyway."
Taking the day off did sound nice, especially after the busyness of yesterday. Still, she didn't like this whole clothing change. She liked her clothes, and she wanted to keep them. Likewise, why did she have to go into town wearing a fancy dress, while Edgar walked the streets in his casual attire? Something was wrong with this picture. "And you intend to wear that on this little vacation of ours? I'm not wearing this into town unless you change."
"Of course, I intend to change. I just intend to do so after breakfast, since I wanted to dine in comfort," he responded, signaling to the dress that she was wearing.
"You're the one who asked me to change into this," she countered, as she crossed her right leg over the left one. "I would've worn my regular clothes otherwise."
"I never told you when to change into the dress today. I just stated that I wanted you to change into the dress today. There's quite the difference. Granted, I'm glad that you chose to wear it for the entire day. It suits you well," he argued, as the waiter came in to take the orders.
Leaving soon after, the waiter left Edgar and her alone once again. Edgar could see the evident frustration on her countenance, and a quiet chuckle left his lips. She was just too adorable. Furthermore, when he began laughing, he caught sight of a faint blush painting her cheeks. Additionally, he could see that she was trying to conceal the miniscule smile tugging at her mouth. His muse always knew how to amuse him. Besides, she didn't realize that he hadn't ordered her to wear the dress; he just expected her to put it on. So, in the end she wore the article of clothing on her own accord merely because he asked her to wear the dress. Once again, she had followed his wishes of her own compliance.
